Highlighting a portion and typing "word-lowcase partial" in the
command buffer does what you were trying to do (turns the selection
to lower case). So, bottom line, it should work on your system,
unless the shortcut got redefined.

Paul,

I'll go with typing the command in the command buffer because ...

Have you tried going into Tools > Preferences > Editing > Shortcuts and
typing "alt+c" into the search box at the top? It should tell you to
what

Alt+C Down is currently bound. If it is unbound, or if it is bound to
something you don't use, you could just rebind it.

Here, Alt-C down is bound to word-lowcase and there is no word-lowcase
partial. Hmmm-m-m.

Thanks,

Rich
Well, if you don't need word-lowcase, you could also change the binding
on Alt-c down to word-lowcase partial. I'm not an emacs user, but I
suspect that would be more natural for one. Typing in the command buffer
works, and after doing it once you can recycle it for the rest of the
session, but you'd have to do it again and again if this was something
you used often.

Yes, thanks for asking, that's what I'm talking about – about the outline. As I
use it for an overview of my outlines, those entries, which are even inactive
inside of inactive branches, are somehow disturbing for me. As soon as I remove
the branch they are not shown any longer, only if they are inside of an
inactive branch. This makes no sense for me.

Well, if there really is no way I would have to use a seperate outlining-app.

Thanks
Jess

If you're up for the task of rewriting it, send an email to
lyx-d...@lists.lyx.org with your proposal. Perhaps send the email before
doing too much work on it, to see if there is disagreement.

Are you talking about the outline? (the thing on the left you can use
for navigation) If so, I don't think there is a way. But I'm not sure,
so perhaps someone will correct me.

Perfect!! It works nicely with \input{symbols}, so I can define all the
required commands in a single file for re-use...and I use it with LuaTeX
engine. For quite some time I was considering to learn/use ConTeXt, but the
fact is that LyX/LaTeX are simply enjoying more (community) support.

Thank you.  Your example demonstrated what I had missed in the user
guide.  I think more simpler examples would help to make the guide much
easier to understand.  Some of my confusion arose from not recognising
that I had to move from enumerate paragraphs to standard to achieve the
desired result.

Fwd: How to suppress branches in the index

2018-09-02 Thread jezZiFeR
Hello,
is there a possibility in Lyx 2.3.0 / OS to suppress branches in the index? I
would like to not show every single section of the branches in the index, but I
did not find the possibility to change that behaviour. Is there any solution?

Thank you, all best
Jess
