Picture on first chapter page
Hi, 1. According to Herbert's LyxTips I can get it by latex command \chapterpic{} but couldn't find on CTAN the calc package. Where can I get it? 2. Picture above/under the title (part, chapter). Again LyxTips: when I use a table in title envi. and insert a picture it is possible for Part* or Chapter* only. For normal Part or chapter latex complaints "use of \@part doesn't match its definition. \end{tabular}} undefined control sequence". Is there some workaround? Any help is welcomed. Thanks. After I made your sugested change - edding ".gz" to "myfile.eps" and change columnwidth to 45%, exactly as you did in files I sent you, -- there is still no dvi-view of the main master doc. And trying to dvi-view of single included-doc I now recive diferent box hights of the two side by side images. Look exatly what is going on: I made another main-master doc, which has only Title-enviroment page, Part-enviroment page with one image included (two raws, one column tabular) and eleven subdocs-chapters included. In each chapter there are minimum six, sometimes ten images.eps included. I have no any problem to dvi-view when I open in Lyx one of those chapters. The problem is when to open in Lyx the main-master document (preamble is the same as one you checked) and calling dvi-view. In this case only the first image can be viewed, the one which is icluded in Part-env. of the main-master document. All the rest stuff in chapters-subdocs could not be viewed because Latex complaints: "File '.../skan/image1.eps' not found ...\includegraphics{../skan/image1.eps} \par} I could not locate the file with any of these extentions: .eps, .ps, .eps.gz, .ps.gz, .eps.Z Try typing..." My question: Why Latex do not complains when displaying the same images when I am in chapter-subdocument Lyx window? The path to them does not changed. How it is possible, what does that means? It is out off my understanding. You say that you have no problem to dvi-view of the example I sent to you. The same example does not work here. Is it a system problem? What system problem? This is a real nightmare for me. I made tremendous work, and now I can not bring all the stuff to one place -- to make one document. Is there effective edvise for me? Please, help. Thanks Bronek
Figure_floats export error
Greetings for all, The problem: 1. I have master (main) document and many of "included" documents, each of one chapter. Almost in every chapter there are many float_figures (photos). All pictures are placed in one folder eg. ~/bronek/dok/lyx/global/skan and lyx files are under ~/bronek/dok/lyx/global/blabla 2. All figures are in double format --- *.eps and *.png When inserting figure_floats in Lyx by Insert Figure_floats Figure, I remove extension .eps leaving plain name of figure name (without dot, as was edvised here later) 3. When in subdocument (chapter) doing export (or preview) to Latex, or to PDF, everything is OK. All figures are exposed in xdvi, xpdf or Acroreader. 4. But, --- when trying to export a master document with all of the chapters, Latex will complain that there is no of any such figure! What I shell do? What is wrong? My LyX ver is 1.1.6fix3 on RH7.1 i686 Attached is a preamble. Bronek -- - Rosn serca ujarzmionych strzaami z winoroli.(Pindar) -

Yes, this way it works, is OK but only for a while. When xmodmap is on board, you can write in lyx but not in Kword, kmail or something alike. Switching to kde xkb desables xmodmap, you have again kick to xterm to run command xmodmap, and so on. Keymap error with XFree86-4.0.2
Hi, I'm sorry, if this very simple or it is no problem at all, but I cannot find out a solution for my "RightAlt "key in akeybord after upgrading from XFre86-3.3.6 to -4.0.2 I go RH7.0 lyx-1.1.6fix1-1 gcc-2.96-54 glibc-2.1.94-14 xforms-0.88-3 Before upgrading there was no problem writing polish diacritics in Lyx with "RightAlt" plus a character (eg. ), as well as in vim or emacs. But in other applications like kmail (KDE-2), netscape or balsa, the "RightAlt" was dead. So to make possible to write email in polish, I start experimentig and installed xfree-4.02. And now, all other applications make it possible to use RightAlt for diacritics, excluding lyx. In lyx RightAlt is dead now. I was playing with some configurations in XF86Config without succes. I have very good xmodmap in ~/.Xmodmap, but I do not know how to force lyx to use it. Locale is set OK. Any help will be warmly appreciated. Thanks in advance. brono -- Bruno Baraniecki [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: New documentclass in Lyx
Hallo, It was really stupid that I had overlooked Castomization Chapter. Nevertheless, if I have to solve the problem by myself, it would probably be unrealistic and time consuming, since I am not TeX'nician, not programmer, nor mathematician. I have received very precise sugestions and explicite help from many Lyx users and gorus. Finaly I put all the "mwcls" real LaTeX classes into "/lyx/tex/" folder. Then I made Lyx Layouts for every new class, e.g. "mwbk.layout" just by copying e.g. "book.layout" and changing the second line \DeclareLaTeXClass{mwbk}, put them into $HOME:~/.lyx/layout/ folder, than run Edit/Reconfigure. Now it works, but looks like there is still some work to be done. I have, for example, problems exporting Lyx document (mwbk) to pdflatex. Problems are associated mainly with hyperref package, I gues. Maybe because I'm using "sfheadings" option for changing section/titles fontfamily. There is a mistake, but do not know where is it. Finaly, I want to say Thank You for everybody who responded and helped me. Many thanks for Michal, Paul, Tomasz, Wojtek and for you, Herbert. Special thanks for a Team of Lyx developers for so fine and friendly word enviroment. And for Marcin Wolski for his mwcls classes. love, Bronek. New documentclass in Lyx
Hi, The question for me is how to force Lyx to accept and incorporate documentclasses, which are not standard in LaTeX but are very suitable for polish language, my native, I am writing in. These are "mwcls" classes including book, article, report, letter. Look at: http://www.mimuw.edu.pl/~wolinski/mwcls.html It would be nice to have "mwbk" or "mwart" option in "Layout/document/documentclass". I have put these files in the LaTeX search path "/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/", but Lyx failed to notice them. Please, advise how could it be done. with love -- Bronek Baraniecki [EMAIL PROTECTED]
