There are two reasons:
* due to the license of texlive packages (the license was incorrect
or non-free for some)
This process was finished around January of this year, when upstream
texlive finished the auditing of all packages

* time to integrate the changes necessary to Fedora packages, since
Fedora 17 was coming soon it was impossible to integrate those changes

For Fedora 17, there is the texlive-2012 repository that has all the

If lyx changes to xml it will change to our xml defined format. We still
have control of what we output.

The argument regarding the readability of xml reminds of lots of code
that I see on blogs or any other pages. When I am reading code I expect
it to have a proper indentation, and if possible to be colored, with
enough white spaces and new lines so that the structure emerges just
from reading the code.

Just because some code is legal from a language perspective it does not
mean that we should use it.

The same should happen for the lyx file format. If we go xml I expect
that one of our goals is that output lyx file is friendly towards a line
oriented analysis, I expect that it remains easy for us to diff two lyx
files. The purpose of converting lyx to xml is to add other
conveniences. For example, now how do you decide that a lyx files is
well constructed? Is it to expect that it does not crash lyx? That a
roundtrip from loading and saving the file gives the same output?

Summarizing: if we go with xml the purpose is not to waste all the
knowledge that we had accumulated in the last 17 years but to build over it.

The best advice is probably to read the fancy headings documentation. :-)

With that said when I use koma-script I defined the headings for normal
pages and also for empty style pages by enclosing the definition on
\fancypagestyle .

Something like:

\fancypagestyle{plain}{%

\fancyhf{} % clear all header and footer fields

\renewcommand{\headrulewidth}{0.0pt}

\renewcommand{\footrulewidth}{0pt}
}

I am not sure if this helps but here you have my 0.02€. :-)

 of Introduction.
  How I can solve this problem?

The best advice is probably to read the fancy headings documentation. :-)

With that said when I use koma-script I defined the headings for normal
pages and also for empty style pages by enclosing the definition on
\fancypagestyle .

Something like:

\fancypagestyle{plain}{%

\fancyhf{} % clear all header and footer fields

\renewcommand{\headrulewidth}{0.0pt}

\renewcommand{\footrulewidth}{0pt}
}

I am not sure if this helps but here you have my 0.02€. :-)

 --- Problem ---

 I need to write documents in English/Japanese. I can input Japanese in
 LyX, but no matter the Document settings (see: below [01][03]), it
 always return error messages (see:below [02][03]) when I output to DVI
 or PDFLATEX.

 LyX complains about 'CJK.st' not found. There is no 'tex-cjk' package in
 the Fedora repository to my knowledge. I have installed
 'texlive-east-asian', see detail:
 http://zid-luxinst.uibk.ac.at/linux/rpm2html/fedora/15/i386/updates/texlive-texmf-east-asian-2007-40.fc15.noarch.html
 I do not know if this package is necessary, or if I can remove it?

 In the LyX Document settings: the only fonts I see are Latin fonts. I
 do not see any Japanese fonts (with or without 'texlive-east-asian'
 package installed). There is only an empty CJK font field.

 The LyX wiki did not help me. Some web pages refers to a CJK package to
 install manually, but I am not positive. I don't really know if my
 problem if is a setting, or a missing package.

 Help greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if I can help but here it goes. :-)

There is a new version of texlive, version 2011 as it can be seen at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/TeXLive

in order to install it for Fedora 15 you need to install as root:

# rpm -i
http://jnovy.fedorapeople.org/texlive/packages.f15/texlive-release.noarch.rpm

The advantage of this approach is that it gives the most recent texlive version.

In case you still have problems could you, please, send us (privately to

compile it to see if the problem persists.

The only problem is that should be the markup to do so in docbook.
Underline is physical markup while docbook has logical markup, one

I can reproduce the error with Fedora 15 but I suspect that this is unrelated
with Fedora.

For the moment a workaround is to copy its content for a file with another
name, like:

$ cp -a insere02.lyx insere01.lyx

Again this is just to workaround for the (silly) bug.

The strange part is that both enchant and hunspell are chosen as build
requirements in the spec file.

The log file at
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/lyx/2.0.0/0.11.beta3.fc14/data/logs/x86_64/build.log

shows
...
checking hunspell/hunspell.hxx usability... yes
checking hunspell/hunspell.hxx presence... yes
checking for hunspell/hunspell.hxx... yes
checking for main in -lhunspell... no
checking whether to use hunspell... no
...

Could it be because the linker can not find libhunspell.so?

$ rpm -ql hunspell-devel
...
/usr/lib64/libhunspell-1.2.so
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/hunspell.pc
...

I running out of time for the moment... :-(

The above error message seems to be truncated.

 I searched the archive, and it seems this error occurred in
 older Windows versions of Lyx due to a missing csv.py
 script. I don't see this particular script in my own
 [lyxlibrary]/scripts folder, but I wan't sure if it was
 still necessary in the most recent Lyx release.

 Thanks for any suggestions regarding this error.
