Dear Patrick, you can embedding a Gantt chart into a LyX document just like any other chart too. That is: Create you your Gantt chart, your network planning chart or whatever you want to have with any program with which you want. Then you make a picture of it, if possible in a vector graphics format. If you are using latex as compiler, EPS is recommended as a graphic format, when you use pdflatex or xelatex, rather PDF. In LyX then you create a float using Insert -> Floats -> Picture, give the image a name by caption, adding a label and place here via Insert -> Graphics your EPS or PDF file (the Gantt chart). The question of how you can embedding a Gantt Chart in LyX, so offers no difficulties. More interesting is the question of how you create it. In my opinion it's not a good idea to take easy the Gantt chart from MS Project or ProjectLibre, because it looks not not like pretty. Hello Rajil, For the command line there might be two more opportunities (untested!): a. If you have Inkscape installed, you can use the convert command. b. ImageMagick is also likely to go. Dear Patrick, just I have take a look at the documentation of pgfgantt (http://texdoc.net/texmf-dist/doc/latex/pgfgantt/pgfgantt.pdf). If you mastered the package and you can live with the ERT produced, then there is nothing to be said against it that you can use it. Otherwise do it so, as I have described: using an external application to make the Gantt chart, generating therefrom an image and embed the image into LyX. Hello all together, after a test I have made with my LyX (version 2.1.0 on Windows 7) it is so, that all three em dashes are shown in a PDF file generated with pdflatex. The em dash, which is generated by three times press of the hyphen and the em dash, that can be generated under Insert - special characters - Symbols - General Punctuation - position 7 seems to be identical to each other, while the em dash at position 8 is a little bit longer and a little bit fatter. Das müsste dann dazu führen, dass das Literaturverzeichnis als normales Kapitel betrachtet und auch entsprechend nummeriert wird, also so: 7. Ausblick 8. Literaturverzeichnis 9. Symbole 10. Ich auch. :-) Teile, Inhaltsverzeichnis und Quellennachweise erscheinen auf englisch - obwohl in lyx als sprache deutsch gewählt ist. Du kannst sowohl unter Werkzeuge -- Einstellungen -- Spracheinstellungen als auch unter Dokument -- Einstellungen -- Sprache die Sprache einstellen. Während Du ersteres vermutlich so lassen kannst wie es ist, solltest Du bei *jedem* neuen Dokument letzteres überprüfen. Bei mir zum Beispiel muss ich *immer* von Englisch auf Deutsch umstellen. Dabei solltest Du dann auch den Stil der Anführungszeichen so ändern, dass Du entweder „“ oder »« bekommst. Das literaturverzeichnis zitiert nicht so wie ichs gern hätte..wie find ich die passenden stile?! würd gern im bosten stil zitieren also im text (autor, jahr) im anhang dann: Nachname [fett], Vorname [fett], Titel, Untertitel, Titelzusatz, Herausgeber [abgekürzt und in Klammern (Hrsg.)], Titel, Untertiel, Titelzusatz, ggf. Reihentitel [und zwar in dieser Form (= Reihentitel, Bd. ..)], Auflage [ab 2. Aufl.], Verlagsort Jahr, Seite ..-.. [Punkt] dabei sind untertitel und titelzusatz die bezeichnungen die citavi, ein literaturverwaltungsprogramm den einträgen gibt. habe einige stile probiert die in lyx auftauchen, die meisten funktionieren nicht, plain arbeitet mit [1] im text, das geht gar nicht, der chicago, oder chicagoa stil scheint zu gehen, aber da kürz er im Literaturverzeichnis die vornamen ab, also Nachname, V. also auch nicht zu gebrauchen. Das ist im Prinzip kein Problem von LyX sondern hat etwas mit LaTeX zu tun. Zunächst solltest Du aber in LyX unter Dokument -- Einstellungen -- Literaturverzeichnis Natbib und als Natbib-Stil Autor-Jahr einstellen. Dann brauchst Du (jetzt kommt der LaTeX-Teil) einen Deinen Bedürfnissen entsprechenden BibTeX-Stil. Das ist eine Datei mit der Endung .bst, die Du unterhalb Deines MiKTeX-Programmverzeichnisses unter /bibtex/bst/[weiteres Unterverzeichnis] findest. In LyX klickst Du unter Einfügen -- Liste / Inhaltsverzeichnis auf BibTeX-Literaturverzeichnis..., wodurch die Einfügung »BibTeX-erzeugtes Literaturverzeichnis« entsteht. Auf diesen grauen Kasten (Balken) klickst Du drauf. Du bekommst eine Dialogbox, in der Du unter »Datenbanken« eine oder mehrere bib-Dateien mit den von Dir benutzten Büchern, Zeitschriften-Artikeln usw. aussuchen [1] und unter »Stil« die bst-Datei mit dem von Dir bevorzugten BibTeX-Stil bestimmen kannst. Das würde zumindest die Sensibilität an dem Institut bzw. Seminar dafür erhöhen, dass es Menschen gibt, die *nicht* Microsoft Word oder ähnliches benutzen. 2. Oder Du bastelst Dir selbst eine bst-Datei, die das tut, was Du willst. Das machst Du, indem Du eine Kommandozeile (Shell) öffnest und in dem Unterverzeichnis, in dem Du Deine bst-Datei haben möchtest, den Befehl latex makebst.tex eingibst. Du kannst sowohl unter Werkzeuge -- Einstellungen -- Spracheinstellungen als auch unter Dokument -- Einstellungen -- Sprache die Sprache einstellen. Während Du ersteres vermutlich so lassen kannst wie es ist, solltest Du bei *jedem* neuen Dokument letzteres überprüfen. Bei mir zum Beispiel muss ich *immer* von Englisch auf Deutsch umstellen. Dabei solltest Du dann auch den Stil der Anführungszeichen so ändern, dass Du entweder „“ oder »« bekommst. Portable version of LyX?
Hello and a nice day at all, is there a easy way (or is it generally possible) to install LyX at a USB-Stick and use it at different computers? a German-language version of LyX 1.6.1. Now I can't load my LyX-1.4.x-

german spell checking in LyX 1.3.7 for Windows
Hello, today I installed LyX 1.3.7 for Windows with the LyXWinInstaller and with it my old WinLyX 1.3.3 replaced. Although aspell is installed and also the german spell checking was downloaded of the aspell site and installed then, aspell in LyX - Edit - Preferences cannot be furnished. There is allways to be seen a grey deposited ispell, and the spell checker does not find the german dictionary (de). On the old wiki side for the WinLyX version at the time one described precise, how aspell with german dictionary is to be installed. For the new version 1.3.7 I found no reference on the wiki sides.
