Hmmm? I might have not been clear in my question: For the Program
Listing inset one can set (in the Settings dialog) the option "Broke
long lines". I would like to know if it is possible to activate this
option in one step for all Program Listing insets in one document.

No. That's why I proposed the text editor solution.

FYI, this feature exists for graphics in 1.6, perhaps you can create an
an enhancement entry in bugzilla for doing the same with listings.

In case it's not clear, what Uwe means is this. LyX documents are just

Not Notepad as it doesn't handle unix end of line. Try Wordpad instead.

In case it's not clear, what Uwe means is this. LyX documents are just
text documents, and you can open them in any text editor (notepad, under
windows; emacs; vi; whatever). Once you do open it, you'll see that the
listings insets all begin a certain way, and the options that apply to
the insets will also be there for you to see. So you can do a simple
search and replace in the text file itself to make this kind of change,
in case it isn't possible to do it directly in LyX.

WARNING: Make sure you save a backup of the file before you do this!! It
is very easy to make a mistake that will make it impossible for LyX to
load the file. It may take a few tries before you get it right! But it
can be a LOT easier than changing each thing one at a time.

Open the outliner and select there "List of listings". When it is not there, then this feature has
been added after rc2.

But you can alternatively add the option

breaklines=true

to the document class options in the document settings. This will then for LateX have the same
effect. But then the option is set for _ALL_ listings in your document. The local setting of
breaklines in each listings inset is then ignored by LaTeX.

I already use LyX 1.6.0rc2 under Ubuntu Hardy Heron :-) Yet, I can't
seem to find this function. Could you point-out were is that?

This will be possible in the upcoming new LyX 1.6.0.
Moreover in LyX 1.6.0 you can also use directly tabulators instead of
multiple spaces in listings. When you want to test out LyX 1.6.0RC3,
you find a Windows-installer here:
http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5117&release_id=15204

2. In addition, is it possible to loop over all "Program Listings" and
set for them common "Settings"? (I have so many PL's for which I would
like to set "Break long lines" that it seems like never ending to do it
for each inset separately!)

Navigate through a "List of insets" possible?

2008-10-02 Thread Nikos Alexandris
1. Is it possible to navigate in a "List of Program Listings" (or other
insets)?

2. In addition, is it possible to loop over all "Program Listings" and
set for them common "Settings"? (I have so many PL's for which I would
like to set "Break long lines" that it seems like never ending to do it
for each inset separately!)

Thank you,
Nikos
