ello many thanx to all of you (three)!

I am again glady suprised about the quick and helpful answers that one
can get in this forum.

Looks like your .bind files are broken...

Only this I did not understand. Sounds to me like there is a user.bind
file that lyx creats according to your (personalized) shortcut settings,
where one could look up and change everything quickly. But as I don't
need no more shortcut (by now) I go on typing now. But thanks! :-)

BTW: I am a windows user who uses lyx on a linuxServer (via xterm). So I
have probably no access to all the configSettings...

Jörn Hello, as one (I certainly do) has to select different kinds of
Jörn textformats (standart, section, itemize, etc) very often during
Jörn the writing process, I wonder whether this can not be done with
Jörn a shortcut, too?!

As some other people already answered, these shortcuts exist. In
1.2.2, the shortcuts will be shown in the minibuffer when using the
toolbar list, so it will be much easier to discover them.

Jörn At least to open the pulldown menue and then
Jörn be able to use the up and down arrows...

The binding for this one is M-p space.

It is already. If you use german localization:
M-a 1 Chapter
M-a 2 Section
...
M-a-* Chapter*
etc.

Have a look at your prefered *.bind file for details.

Like

  M-p s for 'Standard'
  M-p i for 'Itemize'
  M-p 2 for 'Section'

?

Looks like your .bind files are broken...
