[Mac-access]: The Belkin @tv vs the slingbox

2015-01-27 Thread Moop
Hi,
Is the Belkin at tv and its associated app more accessible than the slingbox?
I'm considering the at tv because it lets you record shows directly to the
phone or tablet for offline viewing, that would be super cool if that part of
the app were accessible with VoiceOver. Any help would be appreciated.

I would use down cast. It seems to do more then the podcasts app. I believe
all you do is put in your username and pass in the appropriate fields when

Re: [Mac-access]: Deleting an App from My iPhone 5

2015-01-27 Thread Laurie Mehta
Hi,
You double tap and hold on the app icon on your screen until you hear the sound
that lets you know you are in edit mode. At that point you can double tap on
that app and you'll get a dialogue box that asks if you are sure you want to
delete it. You would double tap on the ok button and the app will then be
deleted.

[Mac-access]: Deleting an App from My iPhone 5

Hi, Folks. I need to delete some apps from my iPhone 5. I tried to
do it by tapping once, then holding between taps and moving right,
but I can't seem to delete the app. What's the correct way to delete

[Mac-access]: glitch in clearing notifications on iPhone 5S

2015-01-27 Thread Laurie Mehta
Hi,

I'm experiencing a strange glitch in clearing notifications on our iPhone 5S
now that I have updated the OS. The normal procedure for clearing the
notifications is not working for me any more as it had been.

After I updated our iPhone 5S to the most current OS release--
whenever I try to clear notifications from the notification screen (using voice
over) they do not clear.
Double-tapping the confirm clear button does nothing.

It is so strange-- voiceover announces double-tap to clear notifications but
that just doesn't work any more with voiceover turned on under this OS on our
iPhone.

However, a sighted person can clear the notifications, with voice over turned
off.
So it seems to be a problem with how the phone functions with voiceover turned
on.

Previously (before updating) to OS8 I never had any difficulty at all in
clearing old notifications using voice over.

Have any of you had this strange problem using voice over with your iPhone
under this most current version and being unable to clear notifications as
normal?

Do you know of a fix or work around?
or
Is it a known bug that Apple will fix at the next release?

Thanks for your input,

Laurie

I recommend the book “Mastering the Macintosh.” It’s written specifically for
blind and low vision users.

The book devotes a whole chapter to pages later in the book after dealing with
the finder, male, safari, and so forth.

The book is available in the ibooks store for free. It was originally written
for the Veterans Administration, and given to blind veterans; so the author
decided to let everyone have it for free.

Good luck, and happy typing.

Re: [Mac-access]: Deleting an App from My iPhone 5

2015-01-27 Thread Feliciano Godoy
Some users have the fifth row glitch to where they cannot delete or move an
application if they are in the fifth row.The workaround to delete applications
that are on the fifth row is to double tap and hold on an application that is
not on the fifth row and then you can do a one finger double tap on the
application that you want to delete or you can go to settings, general, usage,
manage storage and the leak in the application from there. Hope that helps.

Subject: [Mac-access]: Deleting an App from My iPhone 5

Hi, Folks. I need to delete
some apps from my iPhone 5. I tried to
do it by tapping once, then holding between taps and moving
 right,
but I can't seem to delete the app. What's the correct
 way to delete
an app? I'm using iOS 8.1.3. Thanks in advance.
