Re: Trying to open the download and document folder on the Dock?

2014-10-21 Thread Lewis Crack
Hi Henry,

I forgot about the VO+Shift+M context menu for the doc items - my mind
wasn't on top form last night. There are some options in there and one
of them is to set the dock items to show as a list.

Regards.
Lewis.

Re: Trying to open the download and document folder on the Dock?

2014-10-21 Thread David Griffith
This is a little odd. These options are definitely there. and I have
been setting these options up since Lion. I suggest you try again to see
if you get a more helpful context menu this time.
There are many view options including grid stack etc. The 2 you need to
check are folder rather than stack and list.

Hi david

Many thanks for your below instructions. I have carried out what you have
suggested, and I can now open the download's folder with VO plus spacebar.
However, this does not work for the documentt's folder on the dock, I hear
VO saying showing stats or stacks - sorry can't hear too good smiles.
. I have tried pressing command plus O but this also doesn't avtivate.

Please could you help?

Re: Trying to open the download and document folder on the Dock?

2014-10-20 Thread Christopher Hallsworth

The below will work in any Finder window including open and save windows.
1. Downloads: option-command-l
2. Documents: command-shift-o
again this works from any Finder window and isn't new in Yosemite.

I cannot open either the download or document folder on the dock using VO +

Is there a special command to open folders on the dock? as command plus O
does not activate.

Many thanks in advance for any help

Re: Trying to open the download and document folder on the Dock?

2014-10-20 Thread David Griffith
In order to access folders on the dock with Voiceover you nee dot assign
different view settings to the default.
You need to set the view option away from the default stack to folder and
specify the view option as list also. This requires repeatedly entering the
options of the dock item with shift vo m.
