In situations, such as this, EVERYONE having the problem must write to
whoever can fix it. This guy wrote back to me many times, saying that there
was no problem, and stated that they had added the VoiceOver compatability
switch, and everything worked fine for everyone else. Because they refuse to
communicate via anything other email, it is very difficult, at best, to
explain what is going on. I need to retrieve files from SendSpace on a
regular basis, and have given up trying to do it with my Mac. Instead, I
download them to my 10+ years windows xp laptop. This is quite a pain, as I
want to get away from using that machine IIf only we could convince these
guys to check out the issue on their end: run VO and turn off the screen!! I
asked him to do this, several times. Just because Sarah wrote to him, and I
wrote doesn't mean that no one else should bring the issue with his program.

It's always sam, and the last time he responded, you've contacted us many times
about this, we keep saying we're working on the linux client. They have not had
an update since about march of 3014 so looks like either they are loosing
support for the mac app, or they are stoping updates.

2015-01-15 Thread Eleanor Burke
Well I was just saying that I was aware of someone else who had written. I do
not know who to write to so if you would like to put his e-mail contact on list
that would be a start. I really was unsure if it were a sendspace problem as
for example om my Mac Book Air I get clicks when I write in a password field
but many times on my Mac Book Pro there are no clicks in password fields. I got
sighted assistance when putting in my username and password in the sendspace
app and yet Sarah said she was unable to do it without sighted assistance so we
all have different capability levels.

Now, here's what you now need to do. Go into the wizard, and I dont' recall
what menu it's under, although it'll be obvious. go to your menu bar with
vo+M. Look in your menus. You're looking for an option called
accessibility mode. You want to turn that on, as by default it won't be on.
Once you've done this, I think the app will relaunch. If it doesn't, then
hit command+Q to quit, then relaunch it manually yourself, just to be on the
safe side. This should now make it work correctly with Voiceover.

Re: [Mac-access]: Installing the sendspace wizard for mac

2015-01-15 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Actually, I used to be one of the ASendspace Wizard developers, believe it
or not, but I quit the position, as like you all have seen, they really
don't seem to listen. Every time that I would report a bug, they never
really seemed to care to fix it. I didn't do the coding aspect of it, I was
more in the support/trouble shooting division. Eventually, they denied me
access to their ticketting system, and when I wrote asking them why, they
never got back with me until about half a year later, out of the clear blue.
Of course by then, I'd already quit, so their message wasn't even rellavent
anymore.

I started using Dropbox, and have got to say, I've never been happier.

OK, the web site is slightly confusing at times, but it's definitely not
impossible.

The software however works incredibly well! I've never had a single
problem, that I can recall off hand. I'm not sure how responsive their
support is, but that's only because really honestly, I've never really
needed to contact them in the first place.

Anyway, I'm veering off topic from Sendspace, so let me work that back in.
Yeah, I would try enabling Accessibility mode, if you've not done so
already. Aside this though, I'm not sure how much more help I may be, and I
really don't want to offer too much advice here, seeing I've not used it in
so long. I'd hate to misguide someone.

Well I was just saying that I was aware of someone else who had written. I
do not know who to write to so if you would like to put his e-mail contact
on list that would be a start. I really was unsure if it were a sendspace
problem as for example om my Mac Book Air I get clicks when I write in a
password field but many times on my Mac Book Pro there are no clicks in
password fields. I got sighted assistance when putting in my username and
password in the sendspace app and yet Sarah said she was unable to do it
without sighted assistance so we all have different capability levels.

In situations, such as this, EVERYONE having the problem must write to
whoever can fix it. This guy wrote back to me many times, saying that
there was no problem, and stated that they had added the VoiceOver
compatability switch, and everything worked fine for everyone else.
Because they refuse to communicate via anything other email, it is very
difficult, at best, to explain what is going on. I need to retrieve files
from SendSpace on a regular basis, and have given up trying to do it with
my Mac. Instead, I download them to my 10+ years windows xp laptop. This
is quite a pain, as I want to get away from using that machine IIf only we
could convince these guys to check out the issue on their end: run VO and
turn off the screen!! I asked him to do this, several times. Just because
Sarah wrote to him, and I wrote doesn't mean that no one else should bring
the issue with his program. Diane Bomar

What version of OSX are you running? I doubt this would be the problem, but
I wonder if it's a compatibility issue.

Being I normally use Dropbox, and Google Drive, I'm not totally sure. I've
not used Sendspace in ages unless I absolutely have to.

Re: [Mac-access]: Installing the sendspace wizard for mac

2015-01-15 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
First off guys, unless they've changed things, I don't think that the
Sendspace wizard is a .app within the dmg. I think if I recall, it's a
.pkg. So you'd open it, follow the install wizard, and it would then
automatically put it in your applications directory.

Sorry if I'm wrong on this. I'm totally going here by memory, which I admit
is kind of fuzzy at the moment.

If you all'd like, I can try to grab the dmg and install it on my end, and
see if I can get it to run. Realize though, I'd be doing so on Mavericks,
not on Yosemite. Well? What the heck! I have a Yosemite machine. I try
to keep it as clean as possible, but if you all really really need me to
try, I guess I'll do it.

Copy the app to the applications folder. do you have asendspace user name
and password?when you open the app once it is in the applications folder
you will have two enter this information.all I can tell you is that I
required sighted assistance to do it as it did not work very well with
voice over.however, I know that Sarah on the list has managed to do this
herself without the aid of voice over.

Have you gone into the wizard itself and enabled Accessibility Mode? I

OK, now, I don't remember having that problem with putting in my password,

Well I was just saying that I was aware of someone else who had written. I
do not know who to write to so if you would like to put his e-mail contact
on list that would be a start. I really was unsure if it were a sendspace
problem as for example om my Mac Book Air I get clicks when I write in a
password field but many times on my Mac Book Pro there are no clicks in
password fields. I got sighted assistance when putting in my username and
password in the sendspace app and yet Sarah said she was unable to do it
without sighted assistance so we all have different capability levels.

Re: [Mac-access]: Installing the sendspace wizard for mac

2015-01-14 Thread Eleanor Martha Burke
Copy the app to the applications folder. do you have asendspace user name and
password?when you open the app once it is in the applications folder you will
have two enter this information.all I can tell you is that I required sighted
assistance to do it as it did not work very well with voice over.however, I
know that Sarah on the list has managed to do this herself without the aid of
voice over.
