learning to program with Apple's new language on mac or iOS
Hi all. I’ve tried my hands at this off and on throughout the years, and as a possible source of income I thought I’d see if my little mind is capable of grasping all this. So in tenth grade, I tried to learn to program, using a code called quorum. This was in a classroom setting, with an actual teacher, and I got pretty good at it, the little we went into it—we got to conditional statements with if and all that. So I’m wondering, and hope this isn’t too off topic, where good, rather beginner-style lessons can be found that teaches programming and gives anything like assignments or whatever. I have used, and completed, codecademy, a free iPhone app that just works with HTML I believe, so I think I’m at a good beginner level, lol. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Change language in Apple Watch?
Hello all! I would like to know, if somebody can help, if I can change the language of the Watch once it has been set up. I suppose that I can change back the language again to english from the Apple Watch app, but I would like to be sure. Thanks! Re: learning to program with Apple's new language on mac or iOS
Do you have an iOS device? If so, there's an app in the iOS App Store that purports to teach you Swift in an interactive manner. It may be worth checking out. Here's the link. My Mac is too old for handoff, but since getting an Apple Watch, it’s been worthwhile turning it back on on my phone, and also my iPod Touch. All three work together, sans Mac. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: My Podcast on the OS X Calendar
Hi Alex, Haven’t heard your podcast on AppleVis yet, but there is a bug with Calendar which you might like to take into account when doing any future podcasts on Calendar. When in month view, VoiceOver does not detect or announce some calendar events either when on a day of the month or when interacting with that day. I reported the bug to Apple and they confirmed it and said they are working on a fix. Strangely, the bug only seems to affect some Macs, and on the Macs it affects it only affects some calendar events and not others, and comes and goes depending on which calendars are enabled on that mac. Also, when the bug is present, VoiceOver will sometimes detect and announce the event if you navigate to it using the tab key or the arrow keys alone (with Quick Nav turned off), even though it won’t detect it when navigating with the VO keys. One work around can be to switch the calendar into week view, where all events are read, but even this seems to only work on some Macs. The way you add appointments is confusing, there's no way to review a list of events, how do you get to a particular day, and so on. I'm happy to say that I've just made an audio demo of all these features, doing my best to answer your questions. It's part of the AppleVis podcast, so if you're already subscribed to that, you'll see it quite soon.
