Hi John, thanks bunches but I see nothing like what you are saying here. I do have a file transfer window but there is no scroll area or ‘show in Finder’ button. Using Apple TV the fourth generation without a TV
Apple viz. recently published a podcast done by Lisa Sullenger on this topic. She mentions a specific HDMI to audio converter that she used with her stereo. The one thing she did not touch upon in her podcast has to do with an issue that has been raised on these lists before regarding the usability of this system with video content that is protected. I can't remember the name of the specification or coding or whenever it is involved that must be seen in order for the AppleTV to pick up the content. Generally, if the AppleTV is not connected to an actual video output which is actually turned on, you can't get a lot of this protected video content. So I am wondering about this system with this particular converter. Has anyone used it or any other converter connecting AppleTV fourth-generation to a stereo with no TV present and still able to receive the full complement of all the video channels, such as Netflix, HBO etc. Mary Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Saving an attached txt file from within Messages on Mac
HI All, Hope you are all having a wonderful day. Also, my good wishes go out to those in Italy and their families. Okay, so I shared a file with myself, using the Messages app. I wanted to simply save this file to my Mac from within the Messages app. I.E. I received this file on my Mac and want to save this file from within the message. I have done this before with files but for some reason Voiceover and the Mac seem to be behaving like PITAs for me today. :) So I am wondering if I have missed a step or something here. I see the message with the attached file. Voiceover sees this as a group with which I can interact. I interact with the group and then see the file name and extension both also shown as groups. If I interact again, each of these groups are just shown as text titles. I.E. I only see the title of the file or the title of the extension. (which is in this case, txt) I have tried doing VO space at each level of interaction and have also tried bringing up a context menu (with VO shift m) and only see the option to clear my chat. I have also tried routing the mouse to the particular group and clicking / double clicking my trackpad and also no luck there either. Lastly, I have tried using VO shift space and the only way I can get anything to happen here is to do this twice. I.E. to simulate a double click with Voiceover. When I do this, QuickLook comes up and I only have sharing options and the option to open in Text Edit. I have no option to simply save the file. In this case, I did open the file in Text Edit and then saved it but this seems like a ridiculous amount of work just to save a text file from a message. What am I missing here? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :) thanks so much to you all and I hope you are having a great day! Cheers! Re: Skype for Mac
Skype For Business was formerly Microsoft Lync 2013, before which it was Microsoft Lync 2010, and before that Microsoft Office Communicator. Recent versions of this evolving application have appeared visually more like Skype, though under the hood they have remained more like Lync. From an accessibility standpoint, I consider them completely different applications. Another difference is that Skype For Business (SFB) requires a server to be set up and is thus generally found in office environments, where the server is set up by the company for the employees to use. Skype is more decentralized and requires no such administrative setup. Continuing with the office-centric paradigm, SFB can interface with Outlook, calendars, etc., to create a more seamless environment for managing contacts, meetings, record keeping, and so on. Skype can interface with contact lists, but to my knowledge not anything for managing email, meetings/appointments, etc. Hth. Re: I successfully instlal windows on my Mac computer!, but I just hve some questions
Simon, The problem is that insert and jaws keys are not the same thing in laptop layout. Laptop layout uses caps lock for the JAWS key, and but not and in some cases also allows insert+somekey to match jaws+somekey. But all is fixable with some effort since every jaws keystroke is configurable in a text file that can also be mostly managed by the keyboard manager. But this is not an an Apple product so enough of this unless we are creating a specific layout for Macintosh computers running JAWS in a VM. On a side note, those three keys on a PC keyboard like PrintScreen are mapped by default on Macintosh English El Capitain systems to F13 F14 and F15. Another interesting bit of trivia is that the insert key for PC's is called the "help" key on the above mentioned keyboard layout. Oh, it is so much fun to spend 40% of my time in a VMWare environment at least I have keyboards to swap as needed. MenuBar Stats
Hi, MenuBar Stats is the name in app store mac osx. The rest of the name is: System Monitor & Memory Clean & Battery Health. After install it resides in menu extra shift-control-option + m twice. It monitors your memory, cpu, upload/download network, can make short cuts for disk utility, mac monitor utility built into osx(activity monitor), terminal etc. and record keyboard commands for each. MenuBar Stats also have its own monitor in this menu bar by using the interact voice over command shift - control - option - down arrow one time for different modules, two more times to interact with the modules. Befor this you have options and preferences. All looks accessible except for deleting a keybord command perhaps. The $ is about $7. It may be worth the money if you like to monitor the mac hardware and open mac osx utilitys with a shortcut or via the menu option button from the MenuBar Stats app in the menu extra. Only monitor, but opens utilitys like disk utility, terminal. Take care -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
