RE: A Question About Changing/Selecting TTS Reading Voices in the iOS K N F B Reader App

2017-09-08 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Michael and thank you for your kind reply.

I resolved the problem by uninstalling the app, then rebooting the phone, then,
reinstalling the app. Now, it works as expected.

Thanks again for your very kind sentiment.

I truly do appreciate it.

Hello Mark,

I, too, have the latest iOS and KNFB versions, but I am not encountering the
same issue. Just to be sure, when I ran the app, I changed the voices for my
iPhone/VO output language as well as the OCR language. It worked seamlessly
for me.

You are always very helpful on the list, and that makes me sorry that in this
instance I can’t reciprocate.

Good luck, and I hope you find a solution soon.

RE: What's the best method for changing the connected device with the air pods?

2017-09-08 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Scott,

I can transfer from my phone to my watch by going into the watch settings and
Bluetooth then tapping on the watch.

But this is using IOS 11 on my phone and watch os 3.2.3
So the ability is now there but as david said watch os 4 may correct this issue
completely.

The only device I’m not running beta code on besides production work devices of
course is my watch. I bet that’s the problem and addressed in Watch OS 4.
Good point I will do that. Am I the only one missing multipoint support though?

I need to get some new headphones. I'm deciding between the Airpods, or Bose QC
20i.

I'm hesitant to get the Airpods, because in the past, bluetooth has always had
a noticible delay. Do the Airpods still have this issue?

This will be for an iMac.

Thanks,

Hi all,

I will be speaking in front of mac and IOS developers here in Brisbane to push
the case for baked in accessibility to all games on the app store.

I will also show some of the tools and techniques everyone can use so that our
community can enjoy sophisticated 3d games such as mmorpgs or big titles such
as fallout 4 or witcher and release those tools to push for entertainment that
everyone deserves to enjoy. Please follow the link below for more info on the
live stream.

https://www.facebook.com/events/864376623739165??ti=ia

I hope that as the event takes place at the center of Brisbane’s tech hub, many
developers will take notice and really engage with our community to take us out
of the dark ages of audio games into many fun and educational experiences which
can greatly benefit us in the very near future.

Have a great day y’all

2017-09-08 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hey Scott

They are all ready with us,
Very hard to find but they do exist.

It's called a wife or girl friend, these are the basic models
The really up market models are the ones that can do things like change tires
or build a house or weld or pretty much anything that till recently has been
considered mans work,
This has been replaced by women that can do just about anything.

A great invention of modern times.

Hi Eileen,
Now, this is just a guess, because I am unsure where you are located.
However the DVD editions of Game of Thrones come out in a set for the
entire season, One of the DVD options should be the series with the
descriptions. basically it should work the same as you do this
normally, if the series is in your library I mean.
Hope this helps,
Kare

Upgrading my Mini

2017-09-08 Thread Larry Thacker Jr.
I have a late ’14 Mac Mini. It is serving me well, but I notice that the 1TB
Fusion drive I bought it with is filling up faster than I expected. I could go
into iTunes and get rid of some videos and that would probably help a lot, but
I may have need to install Windows and thus more disk space, so here’s the
question. I know it won’t be the cheap route. I could probably buy a
serviceable Windows machine for what I’ll spend, but I don’t want to clutter my
workspace any more than it already is. If I unplug my Mini and cart it to an
Apple store, will they upgrade the drive for me? What am I looking at spending
for a 2TB SSD that they install? In my younger days I’d happily pull it apart
and do it myself, but now I don’t have the time or patience and can’t risk a
fatal error.

Hi Karen,

I am in NJ. What is the abbreviation they are using now for video description?
DVS or DV or a.d.v.? Thanks.

Hi Eileen,
Now, this is just a guess, because I am unsure where you are located.
However the DVD editions of Game of Thrones come out in a set for the
entire season, One of the DVD options should be the series with the
descriptions. basically it should work the same as you do this normally,
if the series is in your library I mean.
Hope this helps,
Kare

Hi Karen,
We do agree. This is why I mentioned I have little room for
intellectual property theft. It’s a difficult balance. On the one hand I’m
all for observing copy rights and of course paying the artists for their hard
work but some countries are so heavy handed. I don’t know where that line is
exactly but there is one there somewhere. Piracy is no good though, no
argument from me.

I’m not sure what menu to check under to find the DVS option if its available.

Re: A Question About Changing/Selecting TTS Reading Voices in the iOS K N F B Reader App

2017-09-08 Thread Michael Busboom
