Re: upgrade to High Sierra successful, but still no joy with the Option key in edit fields

2018-06-27 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Donna,

Have you tried connecting an external keyboard to see whether the behaviour
continues?
Cheers,

Anne

 Try this:

 1. Go to the Finder.
 2. From the Go menu, choose the Utilities folder.
 3. In the Utilities folder, open the Terminal app.
 4. In Terminal, interact with the Shell script area, then type the
following command followed by the return key:

 nvram -c

 5. Quit Terminal, close any windows and restart your Mac.

Try things in text fields now. Let me know how it goes.

I'm using the left. I have the right set for shortcuts for opening apps. I
just tried using the right, and the result was the same.

Hi, Tim,

It doesn't matter whether or not I interact. The behavior is the same.

I hardly ever use QuickNav. So yes, QuickNav is turned off.

Hi,

One more try.

1. go to System Prefs.
2. Select the Keyboard pane.
3. Select the Keyboard tab within the Keyboard pane.
4. Navigate to the Modifier keys button and press it.
5. Navigate to the "Restore Defaults" button and press it.
6. Press the OK button.
7. Close System Prefs.

Try your text field stuff now. Again, let me know how it goes.

Hmph. That sucks. I hate it when things are not super easy to fix. So, if
you use the VO keys, then that tells me that there's nothing wrong with your
Option key.

Try this:

1. Go to the Finder.
2. From the Go menu, choose the Utilities folder.
3. In the Utilities folder, open the Terminal app.
4. In Terminal, interact with the Shell script area, then type the following
command followed by the return key:

nvram -c

5. Quit Terminal, close any windows and restart your Mac.

Try things in text fields now. Let me know how it goes.

created a partition on the internal SSD so I can woek the beta without

2018-06-27 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
The password protected podcast is at:
http://www.talkingnewspapers.org/tnaservice/rss_itunes_publication.jsp?category=Science+and+Nature=163
Please let me know how if you find a place where I can enter the userid and
password to play this podcast. If I just try to play the podcast I get a
message saying that the podcast is temporarily unavailable and to retry again
later. I assume this is because of the missing userid and password. I can play
the podcast fine using iTunes on my iMac.
Many thanks….

Hi,

I don't believe that Google has phone support for general G Suite service
support. You could try the accessi...@googlegroups.com eMail address which is
a Google Group that has many Google users, including some Google staff as far
as I'm aware. I believe that you need to join the group first before you can
post in the forum.

Re: How to make gmail messages go away completely

2018-06-27 Thread Kristeen Hughes
I am using the latest versions of OS and IOS on my Mac Mini and my iPhone 7. I
have all of the account settings set to move messages into the trash folder for
Gmail trash. I have checked the checkbox for delete messages after 30 days.
Still they are all in the all mail folder and if I manually delete them or
confirm permanently delete, they reappear in a few seconds.
When I searched google, I came upon an article that addressed this. It said I
had to do something to the trash folder to change its properties. It then gave
me an image with text that, of course I couldn’t read. I think this change
would have been made on my mac.

Dear listers,

I have just searched the itunes store for some audio described films and found
various sound tracks for some films provided by the Solo DX team. They appear
to be a start up looking to provide the AD for as many films as possible.

Has anyone tried these out? At £1.49 per track it seems very cheap. Is there
any way to synch the soundtrack to the film like some other apps have done?

Cheers, Ian

I cannot answer your question about the website, however, are usually
mobile banking app and it works really well. Now they have a service
where you can actually use your voice to pay bills and find
transactions amongst other things. It’s really accessible and I’ve
used the app for years. Good luck.
