Re: Finding the URL of a radio station

2021-01-26 Thread Herbie Allen
I use VLC Media Player and what I like to do is VO shift M on the listen link
and download it to my Mac. It should download as an m3u or PLS file and you can
do VO Shift I on the file to make sure that VLC is the default player that
opens the stream.

keyboard commanders

2021-01-26 Thread Lorie McCloud
I'd like to create a keyboard commander to toggle between mouse follows vo
cursor and mouse ignores vo cursor. activities do work for this but I lost mine
when I went up to Catalina. I thought it would be better to set a keyboard
commander because there are sites I have encountered where I needed to switch
that weren't in the list for the activity. can somebody tell me how to do it?
I'm in vo utility in keyboard commanders where it says: "add". now what do I do?

 Thanks.
Lorie

Finding the URL of a radio station

2021-01-26 Thread joseph hodge
Hi all I was wondering if anyone knows any software that will allow you to grab
the URL of a radio station when you're playing it? I would like to take a radio
station and put it into a player that does not have access to it however it
allows me to add URLS. Everything I find is windows only and just trying to
find something that will work!

Joe

Re: Turning Macbook-Pro-2017 On?

2021-01-26 Thread Brad Snyder
On a Mac with TouchBar, opening the lid will indeed turn on your Mac.

- Brad -

On Jan 26, 2021, at 13:35, Janet Ingber wrote:

Hi,
I assume you turned the computer off. If so, opening the lid will not do
anything. If you just closed the lid, open it. If you completely turned it off,
hold down the Power button (which may also be the Touch ID sensor) for a couple
of seconds. VoiceOver will not speak while you are doing this. In a few seconds
VoiceOver will begin to speak.

If you are using macOS Big Sur, you can activate the start up sound in the
Sounds pane of System Preferences.

Hope this helps,
Janet

Re: problems with IOS 14.4 and braille displays?

2021-01-26 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Kliph,

The security people for the Mantis list won't allow iCloud addresses. I
actually had to sign up using a work address. If you have a non iCloud addie,
try signing up with that.

Glad to hear your not having the issue, though. That's encouraging.
Cheers,
Donna

problems with IOS 14.4 and braille displays?

2021-01-26 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi all,

I just received the message below on the Mantis mailing list. Does anyone know
if this problem is unique to the Mantis, or will it be an issue for all braille
displays?
TIA,
Donna
Message from Mantis list
Writing today to let everyone know that there are connection issues for the
Mantis and Chameleon after upgrading to iOS 14.4. We recommend that you turn
off automatic updates and do not upgrade to 14.4. This is a regression
introduced by Apple in this release. We alerted them to this issue during 14.4
beta testing and we hope they will correct it in a possible 14.4.1 release. We
will keep you posted on anything that we learn.

The basic issue is that once you upgrade to 14.4, as soon as you lock your iPad
or iPhone with the Mantis or Chameleon connected, the braille display will not
automatically reconnect once you wake the device back up. You can force it to
reconnect by leaving the terminal and reconnecting from there but then you
won’t get braille. The only way to get braille back is to toggle Bluetooth on
the iOS device but the issue will happen again as soon as you lock your device
or it goes to sleep.

Re: Turning Macbook-Pro-2017 On?

2021-01-26 Thread Janet Ingber
Hi,
I assume you turned the computer off.

Hope this helps,
Janet

Turning Macbook-Pro-2017 On?

2021-01-26 Thread Fazil
Hi, list.

Last night, I shut down my Macbook-Pro 2017.

How can I turn it now? Should I just open the lid and expect that the
machine would be on soon, or I should do something else?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!
