no. it wasn’t upside down but I did check that because I’d never had that
happen before. my player wasn’t plugged in properly so it thought it was
unplugged. wouldn’t accept a cd.

I usually do this on the phone. if you’re in the cart and looking at contents
swipe up or down on the. item you want to remove. I say up or down because one

Thanks Brad I could’ve used that information along time ago. You’d think that
that would have been much more widely known. Actually, apples advice wasn’t so
much incorrect as perhaps unnecessary. It does work as I said it would, but
knowing all I have to do is thank the little bitch is even better. Thanks Brad

The workaround information you received from Apple is incorrect.
To dismiss the Siri Follow-Up feature, all you have to do is simply tell Siri
"Thank You." Siri will respond, "You're Welcome", and the SiriFollow-Up
feature is dismissed.

Hi Brandon!
I can understand why you want to go back to Windows.
I would like to have a windows computer since things are a bit easier on the

Shutting off series annoying back to back request feature

2024-01-07 Thread Phil Halton
The workaround according to Apple Accessibility to get Siri to stop listening
for additional requests as though you’re having a fluid conversation with her
is to turn on the “type to Siri“ feature in Siri settings. Then, using hey Siri
you will only get a single interaction with Siri and not a continued back to
back requests cycle. However, if you press the side button with the type of
Siri feature on it will bring up the keyboard and require you to type your
request to Siri. Again, with that type to Siri feature turned on Hey Siri will
eliminate the back-to-back requests and give you a single interaction as in the
good old days.
I made my displeasure known quite clearly and they did tell me that there are
working on a permanent fix to this software boondoggle. Whoever got the big

Re: editing an open Instacart order

2024-01-07 Thread Patrick Ford
I have used two ways for this -
1 is to use a swipe up or down gesture on the item and it will add or remove
the item -
2, click on the item and it will bring you to the pop up page where you can
swipe toward the bottom to remove it by swiping on the item amount until zero
and then at the right you can then swipe to remove it from cart -

editing an open Instacart order

2024-01-07 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
Hi all:

I needed to remove an item from an open Instacart order. I ended up having
to use the computer, and not use Voiceover on my phone. I even tried screen
rec with no luck. Is there a trick to this?

Re: cd player/burner

Indeed that tends to mean that for whatever reason the CD content is not
being seen.
If you have a clean microfiber cloth, give the disc a gentle rub, even a
fingerprint can keep one from being read correctly.

Re: How to read pdf or if there is a app

2024-01-07 Thread Simon Cavendish
Hi Tom,

The application Preview is always available on mac OS; you will find it in your
applications folder and most likely on your dock if you press control + F3 key
or control + option + letter D, and then start typing preview, you should land
on it. Press enter and it will open. It is also a default application that
will open if you receive a pdf file and open it.

Ah, the wonderful world of "should!"

Preview does pretty well on PDF that embeds postscript fonts, imo. It
does not do so well on graphical images of text characters, and it does
not directly offer the option to OCR those files.

It's important to know there is this fundamental difference in the kind
of content that comes wrapped up as PDF. In other words, the thing that
PDF is could be defined as a wrapper or an envelope into which other
content is stuffed.
