Re: About pdf

2024-01-28 Thread John Panarese
Just be sure you are interacting with the document itself. Check Preview
settings and make sure yit scrolls the document continuously. This is not a
guarantee that VO-a will read from beginning to end though. You might have to
kick it along as some PDFs are simply not formatted properly from my
experience. You can try to open the PDF in Microsoft Word if you have it on
your system.

Assuming you are using Preview, are you interacting with the document
itself? You need to use standard VoiceOver navigation. Also make sure in
Preview settings that you are set to read continuously and not single page if

Re: Is there a way to permanently disable optimized charging?

2024-01-28 Thread Earle
It is possible to disable optimized battery charging on the Apple Watch. You
need to do it on the watch though it can’t be done in the app on your phone. On
the watch go into settings. Then choose battery. Then go down to the bottom and
choose battery health. Go into battery health and you can disable optimized
battery charging in there. I hope this helps.

Best accessible security camera?

2024-01-28 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi all,

We have recently been having problems with porch pirates in our neighborhood,
which has prompted my husband and me to decide to get a security camera.
Recommendations, please? We’re talking about ring, and Wyze. Appreciate any and
all input.
Cheers,
Donna

Re: VMware Fusion/Player

2024-01-28 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
I'm on an M2 Max Pro laptop.

Findings so far: May need sighted assistance if using the pre-built
image to get the screen reader going in the VM.

Alternatively, I should be able to install from the installation ISO, I
should be able to arrow down once within the first 15 seconds of booting
the ISO to enable Speakup during installation. This is what I'm trying
to do so far without success so far.
