If you selected cancel, then the file should still be open. If you had selected delete, then the file would be closed and not saved.Try pressing CMD plus tab, and see if TextEdit is still running. If it is, then as Robert suggested, press CMD plus accent, and this should bring the file you were working on into focus.- Brad -On Dec 16, 2022, at 09:32, Fazil M. wrote:

Perhaps you are confusing Text Edit with some other application. Perhaps
Google Docs, or something else.

I don’t use Text edit, but I just gave it a quick test, and it prompts to save
or delete the file if I exit the editor without saving. (“Save”, “delete”,
“Cancel”).

That should be clear enough.

Looking for a File that I am editing?

2022-12-15 Thread Fazil M.
Hi, Group.

I heard that Mac saves files automatically.

Well I am editing a file in Text Edit.

I switched to mail, got an attachment and saved it.

It was a text file and I wanted to copy some text from this attachment in
order to paste it in the file I am editing/typing. I did not save the file I
am editing but I am not finding it. Can I find it in any way?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!
