Re: Recording an emailing

2020-03-16 Thread Brad Snyder
Tim - I can see how changing a doc file to docx, and then attempting to open
the file in MS Word or another word processing app could corrupt a file. The
same may be true for other file types and applications.
Always best to proceed with caution.

Hi,

When using the Canadian Mac App Store on your Mac, the app "Just Press Record"

you wish.

1. Open the Mac App Store.
2. Press cmd-f to bring focus to the Search field.
3. Enter "press record".

That's close enough to make it first in the list.

4. Interact with the search results area.
5. VO-space on the "Just Press Record" button.
6. Stop interacting with the Just Press Record info area.
7. VO-left to find the Toolbar.
8. Interact with the Toolbar.
9. VO-right within the Toolbar to find the price button and VO-space to press
it.

You should then get the regular purchase dialogs whether you need to confirm,
whether it comes out of a Store credit etc. Once you confirm, it will start
the download. The app will reside in your Applications folder after the
download is complete. There will also be an Open button within the App Store
after it completes the download.

Re: Recording an emailing

2020-03-15 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
New I should have waited for the expert to reply, I might keep your email
anyway incase there is something I want from the App store one day. I’ve never
had to purchase anything with it on the Mac yet. The only apps I’ve installed
so far have come directly from web-sites.

Re: Recording an emailing

2020-03-15 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

When using the Canadian Mac App Store on your Mac, the app "Just Press Record"
is indeed there and is $6.99 CAD. Do the following to download and install if
you wish.

HTH.

Re: Recording an emailing

2020-03-15 Thread Brad Snyder
That is strange. I have always found the Mac AppStore to be accessible using
VoiceOver.
If you find the price, place focus on it and press VO + SHIFT to initiate a
purchase. You will need to repeat this action to confirm that you really want
to make a purchase.

I just check in the Mac AppStore and Just Press Record is there. Of course, I
am using the US AppStore, so it is possible it is not in your AppStore, but if
you found it in your iOS AppStore, I would assume it would be available in your
Mac AppStore as well.
I can’t see the price because I already purchased it, but it is there.

Re: Recording an emailing

2020-03-15 Thread Angus MacKinnon
Thank you. Just Press Record is only available for the iPhone, iPad and Apple
Watch no iMac. So, any programs like WAV Pad for the iMac? Can VLC be used for
Audio Recording?

I like Just Press Record. You can use it on a Mac, iPhone or an iPad.
You can record on your Mac or iDevice and the recording file will show up in a
folder in your iCloud drive, where you can get it and attach it to an email or
do whatever you need to do with it.
You may have to pay for the app, but I don’t think it is very much and whatever
it cost, it is well worth it.

Re: Recording an emailing

2020-03-14 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
Someone else might be able to answer this as I’ve never done it, but I did see
an app on the Mac called Voice Memos. Maybe you could use that and attach the
voice memo to the email? Like I’ve said, I’ve never done it and not sure wif it
can be done.
