Re: cursors

2019-09-17 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

As ET mentioned, the cursor tracking items are in the VO Utility under the
Navigation category. The items which has VO announce what's under the mouse,
is in the Verbosity category, in the Announcements tab. You can toggle this
on/off and set the delay before announcing. I have it on, and no delay at all.

Later...

2019-09-17 Thread Lorie McCloud
thanks. I hardly ever use siri on my Mac. maybe I should find out how to
activate it. I have a touch pad but I mostly use the keyboard. I have a Mac
Mini with a standard Apple keyboard. I have to use fn with vo and F8 in order
to get the utility open.

I know Lorie has already opened Voice Over utility, but there is a few ways of
doing it. I try and do things manually as well but last week I had the same
brain block so I just asked Siri to open Voice over Utilities. I’m not sure if
this one works on Macs without the Touch Bar but I can also press the FN
control option and the number 8 key on the number row.

I found how to synchronize the 2 cursors. where do I set vo to read what's
under the mouse pointer? seems like mouse pointer should be in there somewhere.

also, should I have cursor wrapping enabled?

thanks.

Hi,

I tend to havel cursors synchronized, and also have the mouse follow VO focus.
I've also set VO to read what's under the mouse after a 0 second delay. It
works well for me except in some web situations whereby if the mouse is on
certain locations, VO has focus difficulties. Very rare though. So, overall,
it's kind of a personal preference.

Hi there.
My Braille Edge 40 is not routing all that great either, but it is routing over
short distances. I still have an open case on mine. Maybe if we're lucky, that
will help with others, even though it's a different braille display.

Hello!
Thank you very much for this feedback. My Display is brand new, so I did not

 Hi there.
My Braille Edge 40 is not routing all that great either, but it is routing

Re: whats the advantage of two cursors in amadeus Pro?

2012-02-24 Thread Ray Foret Jr
I agree. You could, of course, Join the Amadeus Pro mailing list also. You
sign up for this like a forum, but, you can use it via regular e-mail. It
doesn't get all that much traffic but it's useful. As for the app itself, at
first, because I was unfamiliar with Amadeus Pro, I too questioned whether it
could or would meet my needs. Most of them it meets very nicely indeed. I do
the recording in Amadeus Pro, then, using RX plugins, I remove the clicks and
pops from vinyl records and do denoising also. IN short, if I'm going to do a
vinyl record album, I can do everything I need to do from inside Amadeus Pro
from the recording, to the click and pop suppression, to the denoising, the
editing out of side changes and then splitting up the file in to individual
tracks and burning the lot directly to a CD; and, mind you, all of it from
directly inside amadeus Pro.

 Hi Egbert,

actually I can't explain why Martin Hairer decided to do it this way. But I
saw it in several other sound editors as well. I'm going to suggest to
Martin to make it optional to combine these two cursors in the settings. You
could also write to him and make this suggestion. So he might see the need
 for this.

 All the best

 Hi Folks,
i managed to cut some audio, get me markers right and be happy.
 but one question still remains.
Why does amadeus use two cursors?
there is the playhead and the insertion point?
In the old days, when i used tapedecs, i could understand the idea.
 ut here?
Can someone explain the meaning to me?

Hi, sure thing. Really there is no requirement here, but I will tell

This way, when you move the voice over cursor to an item such as an
edit box, your in the box, ready to type. I love that feature, it not
only works on the web, but in pretty much any window. It's great
because you can use the voice over cursor to read text in a dialog box
and when you get to a control you want to work with, your system focus
is already there waiting for you. When I have to use windows at work,
I really miss this feature. I don't have the mouse pointer set to
follow the voice over cursor, though you can press v o command f5 to
move the mouse to your voice over cursor. Some times you will need to
do this if you need to click on something that doesn't respond to the
 voice over's perform action command.
