[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1843513] Re: Links included in text boxes are converted from http to https

2019-09-12 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Note that HTML Purifier does that particularly for embedded media like
YouTube videos and so on where mixed content warnings would come up.

Mixed content warnings are not present when linking text in a text block
as it's just a link but not an embedded media type.

Normal links set via TinyMCE should be excluded from the HTML Purifier
rule.

I have not been able to replicate this locally, but it occurs on demo.

We suspect because the Mahara site is https, the link is being
converted by HTML Purifier to https to avoid mixed content warnings.

We need to allow a link to be http rather than https because some
sites are not using https yet.

Title:
Move "Add comment" and "Details" into modal with "Comments"

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
This is part of the page revamp:

https://wiki.mahara.org/wiki/Developer_Area/Specifications_in_Development/Page_layout_revision

Currently, the "Add comment" and "Details" links at blocks that can
have them, takes you to a separate page where you can view the
artefact's metadata and can leave comments.

When you view comments, they are already displayed in the modal
directly on the page, but you can't leave a comment yet.

  The things to be done:

  - Combine comments, add comment, Details to "Comments and details" (or just
comments or just details depending on what can be displayed) so you only have
one link.
  - Clicking that link opens up a modal on the page that shows the artefacts
details (if there are any) and also the comments, as well as allows you to
leave comments if that is enabled. Please see the attached mock-up.

This would also mean to review all the "Details" on blocks as some of
them are not needed. For example, clicking the details link next to a
plan task only shows that single plan task again without any
additional details. The "Details" should only be there when there is
additional metadata information but not simply repeating the block
  content.

The title of the modal (the one in the green bar) would be the
blocktype as the title of the block is listed below.

A decision still needs to be made on whether comments can be paginated
in the modal or if they are shown all one after another (which might
  get quite long).

We are not changing anything else from the proposal as that requires
Gridstack to be implemented first. This is a standalone usability
  improvement independent of Gridstack.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1827811] Re: Move "Add comment" and "Details" into modal with "Comments"

2019-09-12 Thread Rangi Daymond
Patchset: https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/10304/6
Browser tested: Firefox
Theme used: Raw

TEST SCENARIO: Verify that exported HTML portfolio/pages with image blocks that
have Comments and/or Details can be viewed as expected.
--

*PRECONDITIONS:
---
1) Logged in (non administrative) user1 has a newly created HTML export of a
portfolio/page with at least two image blocks (one commented upon - public and
private ones - and one not) and one folder block (that contains the image/s
used in the image blocks).

2) The portfolio/page is shared with at least one other non
administrative user (user2) who has also commented (some private and
some public) on the block with prior comments.

3) The portfolio/page is exported as HTML with comments option selected,
and the downloaded file unzipped and the index.html file is opened in
the browser

**TEST STEPS:
-
Verify that the portfolio/page content displays as expected with special focus
on the block comments and details.

Step 1. Open the index.html file to view the exported material.
Step 2. Click on the image block's image to view the details and comments.

**Image block HTML export bug: the image block details and comments are
not accessible via the image block but they are via the folder block
file - please see the attachments (with prefix SS1 shows the console
error when the user attempts to click the image in the image block, with
prefix SS2 shows the details and comments displayed when user clicks the
folder block's image filename).

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1840108] Re: Library upgrade: Select 2 to 4.0.8

2019-09-12 Thread Rebecca Blundell
I was unable to make some of the changes in the README, which are also
currently not working on Master, so I have made another bug report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1843847

Changes are related to accessibility of the remove tag x:
* Add label to "Remove tag" button
* Adding ability to remove tag via 'enter' key if one is focused on the 'x' of
a tag (commit 5ec92cddcf24fca18fdb1b24707216a5ea24bde8) - added but doesn't
seem to work :(

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1843847] [NEW] Select2 accessibility for labelling and removing tags

2019-09-12 Thread Rebecca Blundell
Public bug reported:

In upgrading select2 to 4.0.9, I have not made the following changes:

* Add label to "Remove tag" button
* Adding ability to remove tag via 'enter' key if one is focused on the 'x' of
a tag (commit 5ec92cddcf24fca18fdb1b24707216a5ea24bde8) - added but doesn't
seem to work :(

It also seemed to not be working in the current code.

We need to find a version in which this is working and then copy the
code over or just make the changes again, whichever is easier.

For clarity, the issue is that if you make tags as a keyboard user, the
x (remove) button is not accessible via tab or arrow keys. Also there is
no label on that button so that a screen reader would not be able to
identify what the remove button was.

Title:
html export not working with certain kinds of embedded media

Status in Mahara:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hello...

I'm using Mahara 1.8.0 downloaded from mahara.org on Ubuntu 12.04.3
  LTS with postgresql 9.1.

My question involves embedded media and exporting to html. I've found
that certain kinds of content -- in particular those that rely on
javascript to be displayed properly in the browser -- are not rendered
properly in an exported portfolio. For example, embedded PDFs, videos,
and image slideshows do not work. The content itself is included in
the exported site, but none of the enabling javascript is.

I assume this is by design, but I am wondering the reason for it.

Why it matters to us: We're considering ways that we could do long-
term archiving of portfolios and thought perhaps the html export would
give us a way to do that.

  Thanks for any feedback.

Title:
Add space between external media video and card header

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
When you have an image, the image has a bit of space to the block
heading whereas "External media" does not. The latter is missing the
card body class. "Embedded media" for internal video does have the
  class again.

  see attachment

  To replicate:

  1. Add a photo to a page.
  2. Add a YouTube video to the page via the "External media" block.
Expected result: Both media items have a bit of space to the block header.
Actual result: Only the image has the space. The YouTube video is right at
the header line so it's hardly visible.

Bug 1843821: Make small logo appear earlier in responsive mode

The small Mahara logo now appears at the smallest breakpoint at 480px

Also fixed the placement of the user profile icon in the header so
that the image sits away from the border and more centre-aligned
within the toggle.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1843694] [NEW] Group page notifications sent of existing pages in a group to new group members

2019-09-12 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

Regression in Mahara master (to become 19.10).

When a group admin shares pages with a group before a group member
joins, the new member receives notifications for all previously created
group pages when they should only receive notifications for pages
created anew after they joined. This can generate a lot of notifications
in large groups, which should be avoided.

To replicate:

1. Set up a controlled group (easier to add people) and do not add normal group
members. Make sure that page notifications can be received by everyone.
2. Create a page in the group.
3. Add another person to the group. Wait a few minutes until the cron had time
to run. For me it was about 5 minutes.

Expected result: There is no "New access to page..." notification to the new
group member.
Actual result: The new group member receives a notification about the existing
portfolio.

** Affects: mahara
 Importance: High
 Status: Confirmed

Title:
Templates sent from admin to users

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  New Feature Enhancement.
  Hello,
At the Scottish Mahara User Group conference earlier this year there were
some suggestions for feature enhancements. One of these was to have a
capability for admin (site/institution or group)/staff/tutors to be able to
send a template page (or collection) directly to the personal portfolios of
other users (students) within an institution or group to pre-populate their
portfolio. For those who make heavy use of templates to get users started,
this would get around the existing workflow of each user having to go to their
portfolio, click copy a page, and find it in the site (in large sites this is
bewildering with thousands of shared pages).
My personal preference would be to manage this via group membership and admin
rights, like a reverse of the 'submit page to group' functionality, instead
sending a page to all members.
  Regards, Gordon.
