Re: [MlMt] Mail alert sound issue - v5895 on Monterey

2022-09-28 Thread Erik Wessel-Berg
You wouldn't by any chance have SpamSieve installed? SpamSieve could be
set up playing a sound when good mail arrives. See SpamSieve →
Preferences → Notifications.

I first reported something similar (perhaps the same issue) back in

I did not receive any feedback nor have I found a resolution…

One thing I meant to add is that the Basso 5s after mail arrival
occurs

even when sounds are disabled for MailMate as follows:

* Notifications are disabled in `System Preferences` —>
`Notifications

& Focus` —> `MailMate`

* None is selected in `Preferences` —> `Counters` —> `Sound`.

Hi Benny - thanks for the info. That fixed one issue but there
appears to be a secondary issue only occurring with MM.

Each time a message is received, the Basso sound plays 5s after the
message arrives.

Any chance this is a bug in MM?

Sounds now require notifications to allow sounds. Check your

Currently, it's done like this:

Thank you. Where did you find the documentation?

You could also try something like TableFlip

Re: [MlMt] Generating message:// links

2017-09-12 Thread Erik Wessel-Berg
In addition to dragging the message to create a link, you have Edit >
Copy as Link (option+shift+command+C).

You can also enable the bundle for the Task Manager of your choice.
You're then a keyboard shortcut (see the Command-menu) away from getting
the email & link into your task manager.

From what I understand, some apps that are integrated with
MailMate
use the message:// protocol to do that, but I’m having a hard
time

finding a way to generate those links in the documentation or the
UI.

I find that I can just drag the message from the message list pane
to

get this URL.

Re: [MlMt] the Magic Sig

2017-09-04 Thread Erik Wessel-Berg
I've always used snippet expansion for entering signatures. TextExpander
is my preferred app, but you can also use the system text replacement
(System Preferences → Keyboard → Text-tab).

Of course, you still have to remember to type in the shortcut, but
something like sig1 or sig2 soon becomes muscle memory.

Yes, I knew that if I simply turned off sigs, that problem would go
away. That of course, leaves me to manually enter the sig each and
every time, which is hardly an optimal solution.

Double space at the end of a line gives you a line break.

* Double space at the end of this list item
a second line on the same list item
* A new line

displays as

* Double space at the end of this list item
a second line on the same list item
* A new line

I don't think you can get a blank line in the middle of a list item that
spans across several lines.

 3 - tables
This is least important for myself, still I am curious on how to
create one.

This does not work:
| cell1 | cell2 | cell3 |
| cell4 | cell5 | cell6 |
| cell7 | cell8 | cell9 |

You need to separate a header row. See the
[Cheatsheet](https://rawgit.com/fletcher/human-markdown-reference/master/index.html)
(Tables-section)

| col1  | col2  | col3  |
|---|---|---|
| cell1 | cell2 | cell3 |
| cell4 | cell5 | cell6 |
| cell7 | cell8 | cell9 |

gives

| col1  | col2  | col3  |
|---|---|---|
| cell1 | cell2 | cell3 |
| cell4 | cell5 | cell6 |
| cell7 | cell8 | cell9 |
