Re: [MBZ] BMW 1973 2002 for over $40K???
Basically yes. The 74 had square tail lights instead of round (roundie) and ugly diving board bumpers. Pre 74 are more valuable but fine examples of any 1602, 2002, or 2002tii are starting to command big bucks as evidenced by this and other recent auctions. Re: [MBZ] ML steering fluid
Haven't even taken the engine cover off. It's dark here, I just went out for a test drive before I went to bed, mainly to check headlight aim (too low), and the steering wasn't working right. I did a little Google-Fu and found out that the reservoir and the O-ring seal to the pump are a known problem area. I didn't know about the screen, thanks. It bothers me that I can't find the owner's manual. Took it out of the car Friday for some reading in bed, then was too tired to stay awake and read. Now I can't find it in the bedroom or anywhere else. I know I saw it yesterday, I think it was in my office then. Re: [MBZ] ML steering fluid
Did you look in the reservoir while running? The fluid should be fairly calm and quiet looking not bubbly and frothy. If it's bubbly, the screen (?) has failed and the pump essential cavitates occasionally from sucking in the air/frothy oil. That was my experience on my w211. [MBZ] ML steering fluid
What power steering fluid does a 2003 W163 ML350 take? The thing worked great when I test drove it Sunday. Tonight, after idling it a half hour to get the air out of the cooling system and adjust the charge on the A/C, I took it out for a spin and there's little or no power steering at low speeds and it groans when I pull on the wheel. Which is odd, because the car isn't leaking any fluids, and it was working fine 3 days ago. I'll check the fluid level, and if I can get any of the right stuff locally I'll change the fluid tomorrow. That would require buying up 15-20 CPAP machines in various stages of disrepair, collecting them en mass in the back forty, cannibalizing parts off each of them to make one functioning (at least partially) one, then having Regina use it and then it bursting into flames. Well, there's probably only six left in the US in driveable conditon, they suffered VERY badly from 70's german car rust disease, particularly in the rear suspension towers. Last on I saw was squatting in a lot, rear wheels at about a 30 degree angle, which is what happens when the spring towers rot away. Wonderful cars, a real blast to drive, and very rare. So I bought this thing for $1300. It has pretty much sat for 8 years since the woman had to quit driving it for medical reasons. Her boyfriend/partner pulled it out from under the carport occasionally to wash it, so it wasn't completely nasty, paint is good. She wouldn't let him drive it! It fired right up on ancient dizzel fuel in the tank and ran well, so that is something too. I drove it around the block (he was paranoid about no plates, no ins, etc.) and it ran well and shifted well but the brakes are not too good but they at least work. I don't know if that is rust on the rotors, stuck calipers or what, but they did work more or less with some grinding and maybe dragging, pedal was firm no bleed down so the master cylinder is probably OK. Throttle return spring is not springing, I'll have to get one. I took the spring off the 79 TD but this car is different for some reason, maybe a difference between the TD and the CD? I'll go next week to drag it home on my trailer. The AC compressor belt is missing, the guy said whenever that was removed it was working but not BLOWING ICE COLD so the mech cut the belt for some reason, she got pissed off and left the place like that, so it was never dealt with. I'll get a belt and dump some refrigerant into it and see if it might work. I figure a few $100s for some brake work, new hoses and belts, fluids change, check out the AC, do a bit of cleaning and polishing, maybe adjust valves, and get it looking nice and see if I can flip it. That could be, but another way is when people complain of chronic fatigue. This can be a result of them not having restful sleep. The wife was a major league sufferer of sleep apnea which left her pretty much wiped out during the day. Fortunately, in her case making some changes to the way she slept (as far as positioning and bed type) resolved the issue. -D > On Aug 23, 2017, at 3:07 PM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes >wrote: > > Is that the most common way that people are initially alerted to this, > their spouse recognizes that something is wrong and prompts them to visit > the doc? > > - > Max > Charleston SC > > On Wed, Aug 23, 2017 at 3:05 PM, Kaleb C. So it went fine no issues really. When I went to bed it's set on auto ramp up and was at 4. When I woke up this morning it was running at 13.something. It said I had 5.2 events or whatever you call it. I assume that means for the night. This is compared to the 87 per hour I had at the first sleep study. The nasal pillow made my nostrils a little sore so if I don't get used to it I will probably go online a buy a different one. Wife did report that she did not hear any snoring, so I guess problem solved. I never really felt tired or worn out during the day not have always yawned all day long for what seemed like no reason, especially later in the day. I will often pass out in my chair watching tv at night so it will be interesting to see if I yawn all day and still pass out at night watching tv.
