I would think a person who would purchase a benz would not be swayed by the 
fashions and need to upgrade to something that may not provide the level of 
service you expect for transport.  Diesel, probably paid off long ago, so only 
investment would be in keeping it on the road.  It could be serviced most 
anyplace in the world, unlike Detroit iron or the disposable nature of Asian 
rides.  A very forward thinking commitment to quality, much as a spouse, but 
more reliable.

[MBZ] Flakey oil level light WUZ: SDL broke down

[Curley McLain via Mercedes]

This has Jim's schematic and writeup for the oil level light circuit in 
the instrument cluster.   This will enable all y'all to fix yer flakey 
low oil lights.  (on and off when the level is fine, same with a new 
sender, same if you unhook the wire from the sender  NOT a problem 
with the wire or sender or OIL LEVEL!   It is a problem with the stupid 
electronics in the cluster!

around $60.   I found the lot of 6 cans for $32.  That is a pretty good

I buy DuPont SUVA as it’s the most consistent stuff out there and I don’t have 
to worry about it being crappy stuff with floor sweepings.  There’s a place in 
Miami that sells it on both eBay and the island of big women for around 
$30/case, shipped.  That’s roughly $5/can.

and back though, then up to AK?  Wow.  Aside from the faded paint on the 
hood, it looks clean to me.  I am not too big on the 201's but I am 
somewhat interested in this one and could use it for a work car.

the house brand is around $11/can.  That’s a pretty good deal for those of us

1) the customer's estimate of time is off by about an hour. 
2) it's wrong to take your customer's car to the Wendy's drive in, and it's 
very wrong not to clean up your food residue before you get out of the car, and 
it's inexcusable to make a test drive into a group activity. 
In conclusion, it appears the only valid complaint is the temporary conversion 
of his car for dealership employees' personal use.

Can stay on for minutes and then will go out, coming on soon after or stay off 
for more minutes and miles.

and being welcomed with the business equivalent of a handshake and being
handed a jar of sand filled Vaseline.

Dash cam best investment I've ever made, based on the return. BTW...
had a bit of activity at night in the neighborhood lately at the house in
town... backed the dash cam car in the drive and left the cam powered up
overnight... BING.. Cops were glad to use the film... the perps... not so
happy.. Neighbors having their cars vandalized.. real happy.

[MBZ] Today's Fun

Washed, clay barred and waxed spouse’s SL500.  Got that done and out of the way 
by 10:00.  Eldest son’s W124 E300D is getting the AC pulled down for an hour to 
make sure it’s dry, another 30 minutes capped off to check for leak down, then 
it’s getting hit with a can of sealer and charged.

Been sorting out the garage and cleaning the bra a buddy gave me for the W124.  
I need to replace some missing sound attenuation panel fasteners on the front 
of the W210 wagon, which I’ll probably do after the E300D’s AC is addressed.

Kaleb, did you check to see if those speakers were the right ones?  And how’s 
about a W124 armrest?  Curley - can you send me pictures of your armrest?

Don’t know.  I would have to ask the spouse as she’s the only one who drives 
the car.  I noticed it came on and stayed on when I was driving it a month or 
so ago not long after I had disconnected the sender and tested the sender 
circuit.  I’ll ask her.

Put a piece of tape over it.  The circuits in the cluster are bad.  Dan 
fixed one.   Most did not last this long!

The one on my 1997 R129 (SL500) comes on intermittently even though the sender 
works and has been disconnected.  No doubt the time delay circuit in the 
cluster has borked.
