aid organizations encouraged to begin financing such programs."

here is the first one that popped up on the first search:

It does not cite a specific number of deaths, but cites "Tens of 
millions" of deaths.  However it DOES get specific for india.  With DDT, 
there were 60k deaths per year.  Without DDT, malaria deaths increased 
to 6  million a year.   That is approximately 5 times faster than the 
Nazi death camps were able to eliminate people.  Where the Nazis killed 
mostly adults, malaria kills mostly children.   That is a net of 5.4 
million a year.  The beneficial effects of DDT in india were pretty much 
all gone by 1978, so you can do the math.  How many people is 5.4 
million per year for 40 years?   it is safe to say that Rachel carson 
killed more people in india alone than all the 20th century 
commie/socialist murderers combined. add in all the other countries, and 
all the other insect borne mosquitoes, and it is many times worse.


"Environmentalists have argued that when it came to DDT, it was pick 
your poison. If DDT was banned, more people would die from malaria. But 
if DDT wasn’t banned, people would suffer and die from a variety of 
other diseases, not the least of which was cancer. However, studies in 
Europe, Canada, and the United States have since shown that DDT didn’t 
cause the human diseases Carson had claimed. Indeed, the only type of 
cancer that had increased in the United States during the DDT era was 
lung cancer, which was caused by cigarette smoking. DDT was arguably one 
of the safer insect repellents ever invented—far safer than many of the 
pesticides that have taken its place.

The truth is that DDT was not banned due to any scientific research, buy 
due to the hysteria drummed up by one rachel carson.   The little 
scientific research that has been done on DDT indicates that rachel 
carson was a charlatan, and that DDT is one of the safest pesticides 
available.   It used to be common practice to spray or dip livestock in 
a DDT solution to reduce problems from insect borne diseases.   You 
can't do that with most of the insecticides available after DDT was 
banned. Most of those are chlorinated hydrocarbons: Parathion, Guthion, 
Malathion and similar compounds.  Doing so would kill the livestock.


Since you are unlikely to believe anything I cite, DO YOUR OWN 
RESEARCH!   In your favorite search engine type in "how many deaths is 
rachel carson responsible for?" then start reading.   There is plenty of 
information, from multiple sources.


Turn off the propaganda and start doing your own reading of real 
research.  Learn to discern fake and faulty"statistics."  Read and learn 
from the book "How to lie with statistics."  It will help you discern 
the charlatans.  Look into who paid for the research.   Companies who 
fund research don't like results that don't favor their product. 
Researchers who don't produce favorable results loose funding.


In the case of DDT, there was no basis in scientific research.  It was 
banned due to hysteria.

Neat! 

I have a blog on blogger curtsotherblog.blogspot.com which like so many is out 
of date. I like that its on Google and syncs with my Google account so photos 
from my phone are easily available. The interface has gotten better in recent 
years and only occasionally goes bonkers and drives me crazy.

I often forget to take pictures. For instance today we tightened the driver's 
side track on the ASV which is kind of a pig of a job. I was so busy just 
getting it done I didn't take any pictures...

It's not unbelievable, but I don't have proof. 
Malaria kills a lot of people. 
DDT used to kill a lot of mosquitoes. 
If the bird studies used to ban DDT where fake, then those responsible should 
be considered giant scale mass murderers.

Yes, a 2006 has a straight six engine, very robust and low maintenance. In 2007 
the engine switched to V6, which does not enjoy the same reputation.

2008 is a Bluetech engine but doesn't use DEF. 2009 and up uses DEF.
'08 and up is the same engine that is in the Sprinter. Wilton has a '07 
he can

tell you more about that engine.
I've had mine for 15 mts and really enjoyed it.

Main reasons to avoid 2003-2006 W211s are the timing chains on the gassers and 
the electronic power brakes. 

MBUSA has disavowed all responsibility for the chain drives, but I believe they 
recently extended coverage on the brakes to 20 years or so.

Who is going to pay for all the new generating capacity?
Where will all these new generating plants be built?   (Remember, the 
more dense the population, the more NIMBY applies)

What fuel will be BURNED to generate all this new electricity?
What is the net difference between all the fuel BURNED to build all the 
generators, generate the Lektrick, install and maintain all the cables 
and charging stations, build all the Lektrick cars, build the 
replacement bat-trees, etc etc etc.


The "emissions" from your Lektrick car will be dispensed in MY 
backyard!   What gives you the right to put YOUR "emissions" in MY 
backyard Can I dump my sewage in YOUR backyard without you 
screaming?
