I did not don a bandana for perambulating the canid on the day of maternal 
adulation.  While trekking I was witness to wholesale gatherings of multiple 
generations of family, extended thusly, paying tribute to matriarchs.  With 
nary a masking or covering to facial features on hand, in many yards and into 
the streets.

It felt so “normal”.

Meanwhile, my mother has been holed up since early March, not leaving to even 
walk her dog, while heaping praise upon the guv’nuh that he has mandated 
continued incarceration until June 1. I deem that cruel and unusual punishment. 
 But, I am incapable of correcting the situation from the GWN

My personal record for public offenses on the highway is 154 MPH in a 70
MPH limit interstate, on a motorcycle. Blew past a radar car just over the
crest of a hill, and I had just backed out of the throttle a bit... had
been running a shade under 180.
This was years ago. The ticket was epic in cost.. I owned a dealership at
the time, and framed the ticket, the payoff, and pictures of the State
Policeman who made the stop, over the bike on the show room floor...
Sold a lot of bikes from the display... Made the cost back many times...
Pretty sure it is why we call them "The good old days."

Not uncommon to have the ticket written up for less than reality.  That's the 
cops being kind,
and often the difference between a trip to jail and a ticket.

It's also a pretty safe guarantee of payment.  If you show up to contest the 
ticket you're
basically saying it's wrong.  "Yes, your honor, I do seem to have made a 
mistake here.
That 1 should have been a 9."

In my younger and even foolisher days I wanted to see how quick I could make 
the trip to visit a girlfriend about 200 mi. away. Luckily it was a Volvo 122s, 
not an AMG.

My response to the cop was, empty road, clear and dry, vehicle up to safely 
handle. He said, "yeah you're doing fine, I've been following for a while. 
Follow me, I'm on my way to an accident scene."

He made me wait 'til he finished his paperwork, then gave me a ticket for 
failure to keep right instead of the speed I was doing.

 Thats an easy answer, you can't pay people western wages and still get stuff 
for dirt cheap.The All American Clothing Company Facebook page is a good 
example. Their jeans run about $50/pair. The people on the Facebook page 
insisted that $35 was the price point that they should hit.Thats crazy, I 
remember buying jeans in the '90s for $40/pair. You can't pay Americans to make 
products today for less than they cost 20+ years ago, that doesn't make any 
sense.
Of course when those same people negotiate their salary they'll say "I'm worth 
it, you should pay me more."

Yeah I've seen it help, for a day or two. Then back to the old "works
when it wants to" mode. I'm thinking just unplugging/replugging the
amplifier module accounts for it (reseating the pins in the socket).

I've tried contact cleaner, slightly spreading the pins so they fit
tighter, etc. Nothing really helps for long.

 I'm not entirely sure that we become fully human until age 30. Young men are 
so testosterone poisoned I don't think we can trust their judgement much before 
that.
I used to joke that an 18 year old guy is about the dumbest being on the 
planet. Then I realized that young women will believe the stupid crap young men 
say, especially when hes trying to get into her pants. So young women don't get 
a pass either.

I think that's something of an old wives tale. In my experience, OM617
tachs are always intermittent and not much fixes them. I've tried
stuffing foam peanuts, etc under the cap and it doesn't really help for
long.

“Beating a heater” is a slang term from the 1940s and 50s for smoking a 
cigarette. If you read the rest you might have gotten it from context when I 
said to put their butts inside the cap of the tach amp.

to the bank to arrange the financing to cover the cost of repairing the
new one.

Rattlesnake bites up in Arizona as weather heats up

More people in Arizona are being bit by rattlesnakes as the weather heats
up, and researchers are warning not just hikers but anyone who spends time
outdoors to be on the lookout.

According to the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center in Tucson and
the Banner Poison and Drug Information Center in Phoenix, there have been
56 rattlesnake bites this year.

Most of those happened in April alone, which saw a huge spike in bites from
the previous month.

The Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center says roughly 25% of
rattlesnake bites happen to people gardening or doing yard work.

Anyone who is bitten by a rattlesnake should get to the hospital

This really is too easy.  If you are scared of getting sick, stay home.
Stay away from all people.  If you see people not wearing masks / living in
fear like you, then stay away from them.  The rest of us will weigh the
odds and make our own decisions.  Nanny state be damned.

The curve has been flattened, congratulations it only cost 30+ million
people out of work and trillions of extra debt.  70k deaths (maybe, New
York has been caught red-handed inflating their numbers, and they are the
epicenter with highest number of deaths, along with New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Massachusetts) which is worse that a bad flu season, probably
about what we'd get if nobody took the flu shot and we did not already have
some immunity built up.  Sweden and Brazil and other countries did not lock
down and destroy their economies, and their death rates are similar.  We've
been played.  Oh well, at least all those politicians with a tyrannical
streak have exposed themselves.  CA governor has signed an order allowing
the police state to forcibly remove infected people from their homes and
place them into special camps.  Sure glad I don't live in that hell hole.

The date could be determined by finding when flights from Wuhan to the rest of 
China were stopped. That was the date that the PURPOSEFUL attack on the rest of 
the world began.

I wonder if it could have been Dec. 7?

This does make you wonder how long China knew it was spewing out plague 
#Batstirfry.  Probably had set it up with Bill Gates so he had foreknowledge to 
bring to his Plague Planning event last October.  Surprising we were all caught 
flatfooted.

It does make me wonder why the chinese students who lived across the street in 
Seattle were no longer in residence last summer.  The house did not sell, they 
just decamped.  Seemed to have constant flow of fresh faces to the point a 
person could not tell if there were half a dozen or handfuls on site.   They 
were there in June, but gone by August, even the youngest ones.

Masks with exhaust valving would be best. A story in the local paper a while 
back told of a guy passing out behind the wheel and crashing into a tree while 
wearing a mask. Rebreathing CO2 is not a particularly good idea. Especially 
while driving, exercising, or exerting strenuous effort. 

As far as gloves, I suspect that most people won't change them enough, because 
they don't understand cross contamination, rendering them useless at best.
