Re: [MBZ] OT: Electric plane crash

2019-08-15 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
I usually guess at it. My charger does have a storage charge setting, I don’t
always have someone available to make sure it is on the right setting. If the
battery takes an hour and a half to charge, I will just charge it 55 minutes or
so. That usually works.

I use LiPo battery packs in my RC trucks. They provide smoother power and
explosive acceleration! They do require a bit of a routine. They must never sit
unused for very long when fully charged, and they need to be kept at around 60%
charge for storage.

The Finny project seemed like quite a fun and rewarding project! It was quite
enjoyable to follow along as it progressed. How much would you value your total
with purchase price, parts and time to improve it to present condition? I get
the same enjoyment in my RC car hobby with building up projects to running
condition and selling them and using the funds to build another.
Good luck with the sale, and also finding your next one!!

At speed, you can hardly hear the engine in my 2015 Beetle TDI! We found the
speedo over 100mph without even realizing it. It lead to a speeding ticket on
the trip home from purchasing it in Houston. It has been dubbed “The Speedle.”

Re: [MBZ] OT: rechargeable stick vacuum cleaner

2018-12-02 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
The thing I really like about our central vacuum is that it exhausts outside
the house! It is a bit of a chore dealing with a hose, but I am OK with that. I
had an issue where my powerhead clogged up with dog hair that got sucked up
behind a napkin which got stuck in the pivot point on the powerhead just below
where the wand connects, and I had to blow it all out from the top with the
shop vac which was a bit ugly but did the trick!

1976 Mercedes SL450 diesel

condition: good
cylinders: 5 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: diesel
odometer: 10
title status: clean
transmission: manual
type: convertible

I have a 1976 Mercedes 450 SL, we converted installed 5cyl Mercedes diesel in
it. Drove it for while and was not satisfied with the auto transmission --
replaced it with four speed Mercedes transmission, installed clutch. The car is
completed -- but I have not completed the final minor things --- The brakes
need to be checked, since the car has been sitting for about a year. We do
start it once in a while for lubrication.
No cross members or structural changes was needed for the engine or trans swap.
The car has both tops, I have never taken off the hard top --- so the soft top
is still tucked in. the body is in good shape, the rust is not an issue. I
still have the gas engine with the transmission and the auto trans for the
diesel --- you can have them if wanted.
We are asking $5K for the car, it will make a great commuter car.
If you have questions contact Sam.

very good shape. Engine runs well and has no issues. gas gauge does not
operate. that is about the only mechanical issue. The car does need a paint job

[MBZ] OT 2000 Dodge Durango question

2018-03-13 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
Today, I bought a 2000 Dodge Durango with Carfax verified 43,000 miles on it,
5.2 L V8 engine. I found something very interesting going on. It will not crank
at all unless the light switch is turned one click to the right, just before
the position to turn on the lights. I have never heard of this happening
before. It is as if the starter circuit has been wired into the light switch.

Re: [MBZ] Verschlimmbessern

2017-12-16 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
I knew that there had to be a reason for the price reduction. Not tempting at
all. Not many MB Dizzels show up in town.

Re: [MBZ] Sadly it’s got an extra 0 at the end

2017-12-15 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
In the late 80’s, a friend’s dad had a 1974 450SEL that was perfect other than
oxidized blue paint which he later had repainted. That car is the smoothest
riding and quietest Mercedes in which I’ve ever ridden.

Re: [MBZ] OT: Is Amazon slow for everybody?

2017-12-13 Thread Kevin Kraly via Mercedes
My understanding has always been that the business has to pay the extra three
percent or so processing charge whether it was a debit or a credit card
transaction, and that the only way this could be avoided is to pay in cash.
This is how it is at my local hobby shop since he always encourages us to make
our bigger purchases in cash rather than credit or debit cards.
