2013-02-21 Thread WILTON
# 2 son, Brian, has complained several times about dim/inadequate headlights on
his '07 R320CDI (258 kmi already). I noticed coupla weeks ago that one light
was out. He called last night to tell me that he'd replaced the original bulbs
with 80 watters. I was afraid at first that he was gonna say that he'd burned
out some wiring, but he went on to say that the lights are still dim - no
change in brightness. 'Said he thought original bulbs were 55 to 60 watts or
so. Any tips?

BTW, Rusty, can you tell us wattage of the original bulbs?

The only other option would be to trade/sell it find another R320 with
the factory Bi-Xenon lighting package option. There are various
aftermarket xenon kits, but won't be steering linked or have the auto
leveling of the factory setup.

Yes, it was quite a hassle with a new Daimler Chrysler product I had (no
not an M-B, a Jeep!), even under warranty trying to get the same part
(TC) replaced. It was down for a month, fortunately with a loaner. I was
lucky to find a buyer for it when the warranty was up!

Forgive if you've posted about them before, but any another issues with
the R beside the lighting TC issues? I'm in the market for a E320 CDI
most in my price range are well over 100Kmi. Different eng trans I
know, but curios how yours has held up with all the mileage. How long
has your son has owned it?

The car has been kept up fairly well, actually. It's a hassle over

You made that up, no such thing as a kilomile (even my spell checker

Kilo is a metric term and miles is part of the ancient and outdated
system that only backwards people use.
You can use k to abbreviate kilo, meaning a 1000 and you can use km to
abbreviate kilometers but a kilomile would be 1609.344km, so if that
R320 has done 199kilomiles, it has in fact traveled.well..lots

Both, probably. ;-)

ml ?? Are we talking liquids now?? hee hee. ;-) We must be really
starved for conversation tonight. I think threads on how to pull and
rebuild an engine have been shorter than this one. Quick, somebody go out
and mess something up on there carthen come back and we'll talk about
it. And just to make it interesting, when we're talking about what tools
are needed to fix it, we have to talk metric, and also convert into old
world money. ;-)

Alrighty then. The seat belt on the passenger side of my w123 sedan will
neither extend nor retract. Where is the tensioner and how do I fix it?

to:
0.000199 Y miles.

Behind the B pillar cover. Two screws and it's exposed, then
a bolt or three and it's out of the car. Fix or replace at your
discretion.
