Rotor size shouldn’t matter, unless you were making a major departure from the
original wheel size.

I can understand rubber band tires on AMGs and BMW M series, but
regular passenger cars should not have them. But it's been a trend for

Offhand, I don't recall, although I walked by it about 4 times every
day. It was a beautiful big black 4 door sedan. He has had several in a

Well, I would think that if BMW had a different wheel and tire package
to offer, he might well have done that rather than change vehicles.
I wonder if the size of the brake rotors makes it impossible to use
smaller diameter wheels?

Hardly a BMW issue, but a good point. I have never understood the “rubber band
tire” thing. I figured that it has a major effect on handling, especially at
higher speeds, not to mention the harsher ride.

[MBZ] Beware of BMW

2023-11-27 Thread Randy Bennell via Mercedes
I know most of you folks are not big fans of BMW in any event but I
thought I would share this.

There is a fellow in my building that always drove new BMW sedans. He
recently showed up with a new BMW SUV.

I saw him today and commented on his having stopped driving sedans. His
response was that he was not happy with the tires on the sedan. The
wheels are so big and the tires so thin that he kept blowing tires. He
had his last sedan for only a short time and blew 7 tires. He had had
enough so he switched to the SUV that has thicker or wider, if you will,
