Re: [MBZ] Dustless brake pads 300TE
I think those pads are a scam. They're so hard they seem to wear the rotors just as fast as the pads! It's a double plus for them- they sell you some cheap pads and offer a lifetime warranty, and you come back a year later and buy a whole new set of rotors from them! You're guaranteed to buy the rotors from them, since you need to go there anyways to pick up your free pads. If you don't mind destroying rotors, try out a set of ATE Ceramic pads. The total lack of brake fade when driving hard is pretty amazing Tyler Kaleb C. Look I know Rusty is a good bloke and does alright by the list members but we are not going to know if the Akebone pads are worth the money if people don't try them. Brake dust is one of the few things I don't like about my MB's and if I can reduce it I will happily pay a bit extra. That is why early in this thread, I said, if you want Akebono, search for Akebono on you tube. If you want brake pads, just call the Rusty man, aka Q as in Bond, James Bond. Q has or makes all the neat toys. Whatever you want or need, Q has the answer. SO, quit whining about where to buy and just call Q 800 741 5252 Unless you are looking for used parts, then the listmom is one of the usual suspects, as are most of us on the list. i've been using and pushing akebono pads for almost 3 years now. they are a well proven product and one with complete customer satisfaction (except my ex wife who can bitch about anything) they are japanese so i'd have to think you can get them in australia On Fri, May 15, 2009 at 4:49 AM, Hendrik Fay heni...@ozemail.com.auwrote: Look I know Rusty is a good bloke and does alright by the list members but we are not going to know if the Akebone pads are worth the money if people don't try them. Brake dust is one of the few things I don't like about my MB's and if I can reduce it I will happily pay a bit extra. Especially if you take into account the labour and material cost associated with cleaning mag wheels. If Rusty sells the equivalent of Akebone (and other similar pads) then he should mention it. Brake technology has moved on since my car was built and I for one want the best technology has to offer when it comes to brakes and tires and not just the cheapest. Re: [MBZ] Dustless brake pads 300TE
I replaced my front pads on my 91 300D 2.5T recently with a set of Jurids bought from Rusty for roughly $53. Included with the 4 pads was new caliper bolts and new pad wear indicators. So far they seem to leave little dust and do not squeak.
