Re: [MBZ] OT: Pressurized hydraulic filter
Yup, I talked to a friend who thinks it could be the return line from the filter to the tank collapsing internally. It shouldn't be surprising for a 50 year old machine to have some failing hoses. A complete service would be job one. Most of the really small ones can be moved with a 1 ton. The other annoying issue with a TLB (tractor, loader, backhoe) is the length. Where a big trucker could probably get 2 or even 3 mini excavators on a trailer you can't do 2 TLBs. Hmm, I wonder if somebody put thick oil in to counteract some leaks... Re: [MBZ] OT: Pressurized hydraulic filter
I figured the transport (about 450 miles) is going to be in the neighborhood of $2,000. A Case 580 or equivalent (about a 75hp machine) from the mid to late '80s runs $15,000-20,000. The pressurized Deere is $3,500... I'd rather find a Case 380 or equivalent (50hp machine) in that same age range but there just aren't any anywhere near me, or at least none for sale. Anybody with a machine that size is holding it. The Deere 400 is 59hp, its the industrial version of a 2020 farm tractor. I *think* that means that engine parts should be pretty available... -Curt On Sunday, April 4, 2021, 7:15:50 PM EDT, G Mann via Mercedes wrote: Buy one of the later model 14,000 machines [much to find parts for and more likely built to improved standard].
