My WiFi ISP dropped the connection on my VPN tunnel at least 15 times today while I was trying to telecommute. I'm seriously in need of a new ISP, and Kaleb's satellite sounds like the DEAL. Re: [MBZ] OT internet speed
I looked into it, and I think satellite internet is basically a last resort for people who's only other choice is dial-up or some other severely limited service. The latency is a killer for anything interactive, and the bandwith limits are pretty low in this day of streaming media. Also the two year committment, mandatory equipment rental, etc. all make it a pretty expensive option compared to standard cable internet or DSL. Allan Kaleb C. Better cache on your device. Hulu goes poop on me all the time. I have much better luck with pirate video sites that do cache the file and give higher quality video. then they clunk and you have to go brew a cup of tea before you bother to fire them up again to see your show. clay On May 30, 2012, at 5:19 PM, Mountain Man wrote: Curt wrote: You're not downloading though, you're streaming. I'm sure it buffers some amount but how much I don't know. What is it about hulu that makes it superior as online viewer? When I go to the network site and watch shows their viewer is choppy (canopy wireless broadband) but hulu runs quite well. When it chunks, I hit pause and come back in 5 minutes. mao ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
[MBZ] OT internet speed
I just went from a 1.5mbps connection from my Motorolla canopy wireless setup that for the last month or so when it was working I got dialup speed, to a 12mbps connection with the new Exede by Wildblue sat system. I have been getting hits up to 15. WOW what a difference. If anybody is out in the sticks and needs high speed, this is the way to go. The new sat they launched is MUCH better than the old days of sat internet. Will see how it goes but I have only had it live for less than an hour. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
