Re: [MBZ] W123 Transmission Mount Install
Yeah, pretty close - the MB instructions spend time making sure *which* type of mount to use - with oval or round tube - then it's pretty much unbolt old, bolt in new. They do suggest following 00-220 but I don't have that one - it's supposed to be the procedure for tightening the adjustable bolt. So I'll play it by ear - Sincerely, Larry T (78 240D) A Blood Test for your oil - www.youroil.net For Test Results http://members.rennlist.com/oil Weber Carb Stuff http://members.rennlist.com/webercarbs http://members.rennlist.com/my_911/Index.htm For my Paint Job Info - Original Message - From: OK Don [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Mercedes mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, November 26, 2005 6:26 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] W123 Transmission Mount Install Do the Mercedes instructions and mine match even a little bit? Re: [MBZ] W123 Transmission Mount Install
I've never replaced one is a 123, but have in 107, 115, and 124. They were all dirt simple - Clean dirt off to find nuts and bolt heads. Loosen bolts and nuts holding mount to bracket and tranny. Support tranny with floor jack and 2X4 longer than the tranny is wide. Remove bracket with loosely held mount. Remove old mount. Clean dirt out of bracket. Attach new mount lossely to bracket. Install bracket and mount. tighten bolts and nuts. Remove jack and 2X4. Check bolts nd nuts. Done.
