Re: [mnemosyne-proj-users] Re: Changing grade for a single card

2011-05-23 Thread Michael Campbell
I would love exactly this feature. not sure if it could be done with a
plugin or not, but I've misgraded cards many times and would love an undo.
I know it doesn't cause any long term damage, but being a obsessive grader,
it bugs me to know I've dirtied the data =)

I agree that it would be counter-productive if a user could freely change
the grade on any card in the database.

However, it could be very helpful if the user could UNDO a grade
immediately after assigning it, for example if they hit the wrong grade by
mistake and want to backtrack. Enabling Ctrl-Z would be the most natural way
to do this. (My apologies if this feature has already been discussed
 elsewhere.)

Oh yes, an Undo. Gets my vote. I've often accidentally misgraded cards
and it just feels so wrong!

Approved for 2.x, not for 2.0, I'm afraid...

Undo is already an approved enhancement for 2.0. Yay! See:

Hi,

If you're really passionate about that word, you can always the card and
create a new one with the same contents. Otherwise, I suggest you don't use
grade 5 so often. You can also experiment with using both 'active' cards
(English on the question side) and 'passive' cards (Japanese on the question
side).

Mnemosyne I'm quite strict about grading and I wouldn't mark the word
so high if I didn't know it instantly upon seeing the card. Of course,
once it's got a 5 it isn't going to be coming back round for a while
so I would like to go into edit mode and mark it as unknown.

Re: [mnemosyne-proj-users] Re: Changing grade for a single card

2011-04-27 Thread Nick Burger
I would add another card with different contents that approaches the
information in a different way. For example, use a different image or font,
paraphrase the question, etc. It both increases the repetition of the
concept and forces you to remember it under different circumstances.
