That really interesting. I couldn't sit through all of War Of The Worlds

Just to show the difference in perception that two intelligent people (I

read and respect your postings, Franc!) can experience upon viewing the
same piece of work; I hated CHICAGO. I tried twice to watch the film,
and found it appalling on every level. Seeing Richard Gere in this film
made me want to rip my eyeballs out and flush them down the toilet. Then
again, I loved both A.I. and Spielberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS. No
accounting for taste Greg Douglass PS-I saw the film MOON mentioned
earlier on someone else's list, and
would add my thumbs-up on this quirky sci0fi film as well. A
tour-de-force for Sam Rockwell.

Has anyone in the group seen a copy of this poster before? I had never seen it
and can only speculate that even fewer of these posters were produced for the
wide gauge format release of this film than others, due to its rarity.

It sold very well and if you aren't looking, our weekly auctions are a treasure

I have the 40 by 60 Cinerama roadshow version with the theatre printed on it.
Very rare. Have only seen one other on eBay and that was a Buy It Now. The
buyer
got it for a bargain at $150 on eBay.

2010-08-30 Thread Michael B

nice poster of STALAG 17, Grey. a truly great film.

the Stalag 17 poster being offered is the rarer style half sheet, that many
people do not know about. (HERITAGE'S LINK IS BELOW) we all know the blue
with the waterhose image.the same art on the one sheet, insert and
other half.

i was lucky to buy this rarer style (rolled) on ebay about 3 years, having
never seen it before or since. i like the artwork.

i bet it will sell high.

i would like to buy the more common half sheet, if i could find it in very good
cond, at a fair price.

i recently added a few posters to my WANT LIST:

Harriet Craig, half stle A
Wrong Man--half
Where the Sidewalk Ends
BOOMERANY, dana
NO MAN OF HER OWN, half
Scandal Sheet 1952
Knock On Any Door
The Unknown Man, half
Tomorrow is Forever, half
Come Back Little Sheba, half

i can't seem to find the uglier style OS of BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT,
with just the face image.

LET ME KNOW

thanks!
michael

Grey -- That is one of the very hardest Cinerama posters to find. You
will see many of the general release non-Cinerama one-sheets for GRIMM
(without the Cinerama fanfold design on the poster) out there, but not
this one. I've only had it once in 25 years. Of course, the early
three strip posters (from the documentaries in the fifties) are the
hardest to find. On these, I've only had a one sheet for SOUTH SEA
ADVENTURE.

 Also, any large

folded one sheet and I was surprised because I'd only seen window cards and

With all this talk about Cinerama maybe this would be a good its time for
someone who has a large collection of Cinerama roadshow items (3-D postcards,
ticket flyers, movie programs, lobby cards, movie posters, etc.), to put them
out for sale in an auction. I think there is something for every Cinerama film
released.
