The Philips CM 8802 is also good, but its resolution isn't very high so in screen 0 and 7 it's less sharp. But still looking good, imho. I use the 8802 myself :). I used a CM8802 in the old days, after seeing a CM8833 you NEVER want to go back again. But you can use CM8802 if you prefer a 'm' being a vague spot. These are two white Philips monitors, there are also some black counterparts if I'm not mistaking, but I don't know their type numbers, and have no experience with them. CM8833 == VS0080 CM8802 == VS0060 (Or VS0060 is a green monitor, I'm not 100% sure) Greetz, Patriek ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx

No, I think the RGB connectors are different aswell. I don't think the RGB-(european)SCART cable of my Japanese Sanyo Wavy MSX2+ will work on my NMS 8245. Ofcourse I could just check it :)... The Philips CM 8802 is also good, but its resolution isn't very high so in screen 0 and 7 it's less sharp. But still looking good, imho. I use the 8802 myself :). It's not really smudgy or vague, or blurred, it's more like... well... unsharp... The diagonal lines of the M look a bit as if they are somewhat heavily antialiased ^_^. And the colors got those tiny vertical lines through it, those are great. It's like watching a Picasso, I think! Hehehe... Anyways, sure I know how a CM8833 looks, and in the past we used to have an... what was it again... Arcona (?) monitor which was also much better resolution-wise. When I got my CM8802 the 'vague spot'-ness of the M was about the first thing I noticed :). But I'm used to it now, and I don't dislike it. ~Grauw --- Ushiko-san! If you mean SCART, I believe the connectors are physically different too. I'm not too sure about it, but I think the japanese is rectangular while the euro isn't. Ahem, Euro connector (which is widely known as SCART) is physically similar with it's Japanese equivalent. Only pinout is different, there is pinouts for both in internet. If you buy original Panasonic A1-series computer from Japan you may (at least with A1ST, A1GT and A1WSX had these) get original cable for connecting MSX to tv/monitor. Other end is with round plug to MSX and other has SCART connector. It's high quality (at least mine is) cable and connector, you can easily open it and remake the wiring. I used a CM8802 in the old days, after seeing a CM8833 you NEVER want to go back again. But you can use CM8802 if you prefer a 'm' being a vague spot. And there are still better option than CM8833. There exist earlier Philips type CM 8533 which was the top-of-the-line model at it's era (when green-black monitors were still widely sold and just before prices of real colour monitors dropped enough). It was also very expensive monitor which makes it very rare nowadays as well. It has almost identical pcb with 8833 though. Tube seems to be different type and it's so far best of the monitors I have seen in 8833 size (including different commodore and other maker models) old monitors. There is btw CM8833 II which does have 9-pin D-connector for RGB and separate RCA connectors for sound. IIRC it has worse picture quality than 8833. It has also updated covers and looks different than other 88.. -series (and commodore monitors based to 88..-series). Re: [MSX] Some stuff I have to get rid of...
Humm, good idea I guess. How soon is that one again (oh man, 2004...). Anyways I'll see what I can do. It's a heavy case to take with me, but ah, I have brought entire MSX-es with me in the past ^_^. And what's left after the fair, I can throw away. Should've done this earlier, and bring it to the Bussum fair... ^_^ ~Grauw Pedro Giebels wrote: Take it to the MSX 2004 Fair, Pedro ~gun~ - Original Message - From: Laurens Holst [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: MSX Mailinglist [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2003 12:42 PM Subject: [MSX] Some stuff I have to get rid of...
