Another surprising new feature is support for ObsoNET, the only Ethernet
solution for MSX, developed by Daniel Berdugo. Read carefully the manual as
this support requires to install first WinPCap, the Windows Packet Capture
 Library.

Tested with IRC Client, works perfect.

Unfortunately, Sony has announced that newer PSP software is going to
require the firmware be upgraded. So newly released games (maybe not

firmware.

Additionally, I believe I read that the 1.5 firmware has now been
hacked as well.

The last games in japan requieres to update to 1.5, and yes, 1.5 was

Re: About the new CF Sunrise cart

2002-06-23 Thread Carlos de Santa-Ana Garcia

Hi, all

Yes, some people I know bought it on the fair in Tilburg last April. Works
nice, have allready bought several different CF-cards...

Anybody tried a CF Hard Disk?

Made some suggestions to Sunrise, why not make a combination of IDE
  (hardisk) and CF-Card...

You can use an IDE interface and the IDE-to-CF adapter. Use an IDE cable
for 2 harddisks and connect the real harddisk to one connector and the
IDE-to-CF adapter to the other connector.

The IDE-to-CF connector works on PC as well, by the way. I have a Sharp
Zaurus PDA and I was able to mount my CF card (256MB) on my Linux desktop
without a problem. The filesystem is VFAT, so it will work in Windows
 as well.

With Fat 16 you can go until 2Gb=2000Mb the same than a IDE Hard Disk.

really don't need; I'd like move its RAM into the Sony if possible.

MSX machines are memory upgradable yes.

  Two methods:

  - solder in extra memory ic's,relative easy for machines with already a
  memory mapper in place.
  - place a memory mapper in a cartridge slot. Well supported by most
cracked
MSX games. Hard too find, not for sale new as far as i know.

If you are the soldering type, check my webpage in the diy section for
  ideas, and Philips MSX-2 examples.

Are msx machines usually upgradable, as far as RAM? I have a Sony F1XD,
which comes with 64KB of RAM, and it won't let me play Zanac Ex (among
  other
things), which is killing me :)
If they are, where's a good place to buy another 64KB?

Re: Just a question...

2001-09-24 Thread Carlos de Santa-Ana Garcia

Hi

I think that none, Com port uses +12V and MSX game port uses +5V, but you
can connect it to parallel port, so you can connect msx parallel port to pc
parallel and connect it using 8 bits, i make this and pass real time
captured video with a philips 8280 to a PC. but only a frame per second,
256x212 pixel. I think this is nearly 56kbyte / second, with game port i
think you can send 56kbit / second. In a interrupt (1 second /50) you can
send 1k bit = 128 byte.

This try is make with a protocol that wait an ack before send another
bit/byte it´s posible eliminate this wait and multiplicate the speed but
comunication it isn´t as secure.

Sorry for this embarrasing / bad english message.

At 01:02 25/09/2001 +0200, you wrote:
Okay...

I've got a question...

ehmz.

How many bytes could I send approximately in one interrupt by using a serial
cable (com port on PC and joystick on MSX)?

Just by making a little program on MSX that keeps checking for data...

I'm not a hardware guy, but I have an idea, and I just am curious how much
can be sent over a serial cable...

thnx.
