Re: [MLO] Re: Strange Behaviors: Shortcut to Clear Date/Context and Select a Day from Right-Click

This made me hunt down the discrepancies with MLO5 screenshots.
The attached compilation shows the inconsistencies occur on Sun, Wed, Thu.
This should be fixed.

I am using it on Win10 x64 i5 8gb, runs 28 mg memory, 15-18% CPU.

A bit of trivia. MLO mostly calls the text that you see in the Outline and

Thanks for the reply. In looking at your modifier key and key combination

I notice in the spreadsheet you break out the same modifier key with key
combinations more than once and label them as part of either a "Hotkey" or
"Shortcut keys" set. You have a column to note that some shorcut keys are
"Superseded by hotkey setting". I'm not sure I understand this duality.

[MLO] Re: Best Time/Life Organization Method to Use With MLO

2018-10-15 Thread zelzvga
I think it was originaly designed with Getting Things Done in mind. I have
used GTD for a long time but it is not for everybody. My copy of the book
is heavily marked up. You can find some built in templates by starting a
new file and choosing a GTD template.

There is no one size fits all, since we all think differently. I have tried
various methods and finally realized I was wasting my time. Pick one
(Covey, GTD, etc) and start using it religiously and filing off and bolting
on refinements as you go along. You have to crawl before you can walk.

Re: [MLO] Re: Feature request: Time Tracking

I would agree as long as support for the API by MLO is low in priority. I
would like the programmers to improve MLO, not interactions with some
program a subset of users prefer to use.

[MLO] Apps and Services link bar in taskbar not disabling

2018-09-26 Thread zelzvga
There is a MyLifeOrganized Apps and Services link list bar appearing in the
app's taskbar. I can uncheck to make it go away, but it is popping back up
in a day or so. How to disable it?

I do not need social media links in my MLO. In fact, for me I find it calls
into question my privacy.

[MLO] Re: how does importance work in sorting

2018-09-26 Thread zelzvga
Had an email back and forth, so decided to add this:

Any way to get a larger slider to control it more accurately?

Somewhere along the way I pulled out these values in MLO 4:

Importance

min 0 blue

less 1-40 blue

little 41-80 blue

normal 81-120 gray

more 121-160 red

a lot 161-189 red

max 200 red

Urgency

min 0 blue

less 1-40 blue

little 41-80 blue

normal 81-120 gray

more 121-160 red

a lot 161-189 red

max 200 red

If you click on the slider, you can increment it by one using the right and
left arrow keys.

[MLO] Re: MLO 5 - New Text Tag property - best practise

2018-09-23 Thread zelzvga
I can only choose one out of a set of choices at a time. Punctuation does
not appear to allow multiples either, it just creates one line with
punctuation. The drop down list will still list an unused entry until you
restart MLO.

[MLO] Re: how does importance work in sorting

2018-09-23 Thread zelzvga
Download the 2018 manual PDF from this page
. Go to page 17, section
3.22. Follow the links from there down the rabbit hole. The best I can get
out of it is that you base it on the importance of the parent, which can
have its own importance if it is the child of another. So, you can have
recursive importances.

Re: [MLO] Re: Dark mode

2018-09-20 Thread zelzvga
The dark mode at the top of the page is not available. I have searched and
have not had luck.

Fading the entire desktop with a screen darkener makes the rest of the
screen unusable.

I have come up with two workarounds using other applications.

   1. Since I have a plain black desktop, I use Feel the Wheel
and adjust the opacity of the MLO
   window.
   2. A dark mode option is available in WindowTop .

Neither is perfect. I am trying to figure out a way to reverse an
autohotkey script that fades inactive windows

.
