Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carbs started leaking out of the blue.

2018-12-18 Thread Jenya Spektor
Yeah - it's still leaking when the engine is idling. So my only choice is
to pull them off and take them apart.
Now for the brand of the rebuild kits - i've seen a bunch (ranging from 30
to 90 dollars).
Also, if there is a free rebuild guide that I can use (different from the
Clymer Manual) - it would help.
Best, and thank you.

Hey - thank you all. Tried both the mallet to the carb bowls as well as
shutting off and restarting. Let’s give it a few hours to soak in the fuel -
hopefully the shrinkage is the culprit. Will update later today/tomorrow.

Tommy-san, mine did, but of course YMMV.

On Tue, Dec 18, 2018, 11:42 AM Tommy Hill All good advice, but I’ve had this exact problem. Mine was the 6 o rings

Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carbs started leaking out of the blue.

2018-12-17 Thread Darin Hatton
Jenya, If you are going to do the carbs yourself I would suggest that you
get on cx/gl500 forum and order Larry carb book. Go to technical help in
forum and ask for link to him. Supposed to be the "carb bible" . Won't
tell you how to get them out but you should find that in your factory
service manual that is free to download on line. I'm on that forum quite a
bit as I have a gl650 and it's the closest forum out there for my bike.
Hope this helps.
