[NTG-context] bib module: \cite with page numbers

2005-02-16 Thread David Munger
Hello,

Is it possible to get page numbers (or a chapter number) displayed in a
citation, e.g.

\cite[authoryears]{pp. 163-170}[davidson2001]

and

see \cite[authoryear]{chap. 3}[davidson2001]

would format as:

(Davidson, 2001, pp. 163-170)

and

see Davidson (2001) chap. 3

Thanks for any clue,

David

[NTG-context] AntykwaTorunska fonts: how to use ?

2005-02-16 Thread VnPenguin
Hi all,
Until now, following the guide at http://contextgarden.net/Vietnamese
I can use vietnamese UTF-8:
---
\enableregime[utf]
\setupencoding[default=t5]
\usetypescript[palatino][t5]
\setupbodyfont[palatino,12pt]
\starttext
Vietnamese UTF8 text here
\stoptext
---

Just found that the font AntykwaTorunska has also t5 enc (vietnamese
support confirmed by font's author too): in file
map/dvips/antt/t5-antt.map I see:

t5-anttb AntykwaTorunska-Bold "enct5-antt ReEncodeFont" http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

Hi,
may be not a very nice solution but ...
\startitemize[none,packed]
\item LONG-UGLY-STRING-LIKE-THIS
   \startnarrower[left]
A few sentences, indented somewhat from the left margin, that
relate to the long ugly string above. The indentation allows the
reader to scan the ugly strings (which might well be in
 alphabetical order.

Iâm trying to make a simple format that Iâve used elsewhere. The first part of
each item (a kind of \head) is not indented, but the remaining paragraph(s) of that item
are. For example:
LONG_UGLY_STRING_LIKE_THIS
A few sentences, indented somewhat from the left margin, that relate
to the long ugly string above. The indentation allows the reader to scan
the ugly strings (which might well be in alphabetical order.
ANOTHER_LONG_UGLY_STRING_LIKE_THIS

I just canât persuade my understanding of ConTeXt facilities to do this for

Hello Hans,
thank you, this enables repetition of the heads. Unfortunately, the footer
does not get repeated. Here a minimal example:

\starttext

\bTABLE[split=repeat]

\bTABLEhead
\bTR \bTD top of the page \eTD \eTR
\eTABLEhead

\bTABLEfoot
\bTR \bTD bottom of the page \eTD \eTR
\eTABLEfoot

\bTABLEbody
\dorecurse{150}{\bTR \bTD the body \eTD \eTR}
\eTABLEbody

\eTABLE

\stoptext

Could you help again?
Cheers, Peter

I am kind of skeptical in updating the whole context

destination option.
I installed tex using texlive2004, and it created a
directory /usr/local/texlive2004/ in my Fedora3
linux.
I wonder if the following command would do
the job wihout harm:

texsync --full --update --force
--destination=/usr/local/texlive2004
locate the local tree
  kpsewhich --expand-var=$TEXMFLOCAL
and sycn (or unzip) the files to that location
btw, if you rsync the whole tree, you will get a minimal context tree, i.e. a
subset of texlive, and that can best be installed outside the texlive tree

[NTG-context] Footnote alignment and number style

2005-02-16 Thread Jack M. Lyon
Esteemed ConTeXters:

One more question: ConTeXt displays footnotes like this (I'm using carets to
indicate superscript):

--
This is body text. And here is some more body text.

^1^This is the text of a footnote. This is more text in the
  footnote. And here is more.
--

What I would like to have is this:

--
This is body text. And here is some more body text.

   1. This is the text of a footnote. This is more text
in the footnote. And here is more.
--

That is:

1. A footnote number the same size as the footnote text.

2. The footnote number *not* raised.

3. The footnote number followed by a period and a space.

4. The footnote number indented.

Is there a way to do this? I can't figure it out.

Thanks so much for your help. Once I get everything worked out on all this,
I'll post it to the wiki.

Best wishes,
Jack M. Lyon

Re: [NTG-context] Framed text splitting over pages

2005-02-16 Thread Hans Hagen
Hi
It gives me frame too, but definetextbackground doesn't accept framecorner=round
parameter. I use ConTeXt ver: 2004.6.30 fmt: 2004.7.5. Is it too old?
ok, this is old functionality
{code snippet}
\definetextbackground[zak][state=start,framecolor=blue,framecorner=round]

(see core-pos.tex for the real dirty details and how to hook in your own mp
code)

todo, excercise: only topline at first page and bottom line at last page
(not that hard -)

Would work nicely. Not in this case though, as rounded frames would look rather
silly this way :)
\setupcolors[state=start]
\definetextbackground[zak][state=start,corner=round,radius=10pt]
\starttext
\starttextbackground[zak]
\dorecurse{10}{\input bryson\endgraf}
\stoptextbackground
\stoptext
ps. these are the mappings to mp:
   gridtype=\getvalue{\??td#1\c!alternative},
   filltype=\getvalue{\??td#1\c!background},
   linetype=\getvalue{\??td#1\c!frame},
   gridcolor=\getvalue{\??td#1\c!framecolor},

[NTG-context] Framed text splitting over pages

2005-02-16 Thread Slawek Zak
Hi,

I'd like to split some source code over a couple of pages. I'd like it
to have distinct background and rounded frame around.

Search on google comes up with an email from Hans answering some
fellow wanting the same thing, but the technique used was
textbackgrounds which doesn't give me the frame, just the background.

Is there any way to tickle framed+splitfloat or any other macro to
achieve what I want?

Thanks in advance!
