In fact, I think Mr. 그래프 수학과 can follow the Chinese Line break rules
since CJK rules are very similar.
and ChoF's paper project.ktug.or.kr/omega-cjk/tug2004-preprint.pdf is
a also good start for developers [like Taco and Hans, of course :)]
Moreover, I think many TeX gurus have already been using LuaTeX +
LaTeX to typesetting Korean for a long time. See
http://cvs.ktug.or.kr/~nomos/lhistoire/civillaw_u8.pdf. So Dalyoung,
you can ask the author if he can give you some hints (macros and lua

[NTG-context] luatex and javascript

2008-12-07 Thread Zhichu Chen
Hi,

I've searched the list and it seems that no one has been occurred
to my problem.

Has the javascript interface gone? 'cause I failed the following
simplest file:

\setupinteraction[state=start]

\starttext

A few years back, \TEX\ could only produce \fillinfield [dvi]
{DVI} output, but nowadays, thanks to \fillinfield {Han The
Thanh}, we can also directly produce \fillinfield [pdf] {PDF}!
Nice eh? Actually, while the first field module was prototyped
in ACROBAT, the current implementation was debugged in
\fillinfield [pdfTeX] {\PDFTEX}. Field support in \fillinfield
[ConTeXt] {\CONTEXT} is rather advanced and complete and all
kind of fields are supported. One can hook in appearances, and
validation \fillinfield [JavaScripts] {JAVASCRIPT}'s. Fields
can be cloned and copied, where the latter saves some space. By
using \fillinfield {objects} when suited, this module saves
space anyway.

\stoptext

It's copied from the mwidget-s.pdf

My luatex is 0.30.3, and I just run luatools --generate and
ctxtools --update today.

The error message is:

It ignores hyphenation exceptions set with \hyphenation and
the ConTeXt for your suggestions is \setupalign[nothyphenated].

You can see in my example the results from 1) TeX hyphenatation

 that I downloaded. I therefore created a local script (update.sh). I would
post this to the context wiki, but I am not sure that this is indeed the
 correct way of doing things.

The correct way of doing things (either is fine):
a) just modify first-setup.sh to include additional --keep switch
b) put your local modifications to texmf-local
c) use --extras=list,of,modules (I would like to convince Hans to
rename that into --modules=)
d) I'm still not sure whether --delete switch as the default option
makes sense or not (in any case, some patches are needed to show which
files will be removed at least).

 Hello,

This is a rather important notice for users of ConTeXt minimals. You
might want to add --keep to ./first-setup.sh

There are some options for which I'm not sure if they should be
 enabled by default or not.
The script (mtx-update.lua and consequently the simplistic
 ./first-setup.sh script) provides two switches:
--keep and --delete.
The --delete switch deletes all the files that are not part of
distribution. The --keep switch doesn't care about those files (that
have been remove from distribution or that you added) and leaves them
 where they are.

Your own files should go to texmf-local that update doesn't touch at all.

Now the important info: if you want your files to be kept, you should
use the --keep switch in ./first-setup.sh. --delete has been
misfunctional for a while, and maybe it should not be kept as the
default option. But as it stands now, it is the default.

Recently there has been a new option added
(--extras=list,of,context,modules), but I would like the option to be
renamed to something more self-explanatory than --extras= (--modules=
for example). You can test if fetching modules works OK, but I would
 like to rename the option.

Try --extras=t-lettrine,t-tikz. (Maybe providing only lettrine and
tikz should also work - it's not that hard to modify the syntax to fix
that.)

 a) I don't like the idea of modifying first-setup.sh, as problem would be
that of maintenance as my local version might risk to miss important
modifications made to this file. My preference is therefore to have locally
 a simple shell script (update.sh):

./first-setup.sh is hardly ever modified. mtx-update.lua gets updated.
But sure - you can have your own local version. first-setup.sh is only
an example how to use mtx-update.lua script.

 b) texmf-local is good for other files that have not yet made it into the
contextgarden (or that will probably not be included). One example of this
 is pgfplots.

That one is not on the will-not-be-added list. I just need to take a
fraction of time to figure out how to set up auto-updating it and
which files are needed. It could be packed together with t-tikz, I
guess.

 Finally, documentation is sorely missing.

You mean documentation for mtx-update.lua itself?

Of course the wiki will need to be
updated. I hesitate always to do this until I feel that I really understand
what is going on. I would also like to see a --help option (to be parsed by
 mtx-update.lua).

Doesn't it work for you (I do not claim that it's informative though)?

[NTG-context] calling a function with complex parameters

2008-12-07 Thread Michail Vidiassov
Dear All,

I need to fill a lua table with data, and some values may be tables.
How to supply that data from ConTeXt?
The most straightforward way is to make user fill a string with lua code
of table initiaiser and then use loadstring.
In this case the syntax is laconic, but resilence in case of errors is zero.
The other way is to have the user to call series of functions, building
the complex structure from ground up by making basic stuctures and adding
them to final structure one by one. In this case the passed parameters can
be scrutinized for correctness, but multiple calls like addsmthtosmth,
setsmthinsmth will make the result uneasy to read, to say nothing of
writing.

What is considered kosher in ConTeXt?
Where can I found examples?

Sincerely, Michail
PS. data that has to be passed to function will look like (example is not lua):

No, just bugged. Hans ran into that himself yesterday, actually.
I cannot look up the actual fix from here, but it comes down to
a pretty simple catcode mixup. Hans will probably post it sometime
 tomorrow.

 \def\presetJSpreamble
   {\ifx\allJSpreambles\empty\else
  \bgroup
  \setverbosecscharacters
  \obeyspaces \let\obeyedspace\normalspace
  \def\par{\delcharacter}% was: { }
  \globallet\JSpreamble\empty
  \def\@@collectedJSpreamble{\r!java\r!java collected}%
  \letvalue{\@@collectedJSpreamble}=\empty
  \def\docommand##1%
{\xdef\JScode{\getvalue{\r!java\r!java##1}}%
 \ifoneJSpreamble % \global\letcdcsname
   [EMAIL PROTECTED]@EA\@@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 {\csname\@@collectedJSpreamble\endcsname\JScode}%
 \else
   \setxvalue{\r!java\r!java##1}{\JScode}%
 \fi}%
  \processcommacommand[\allJSpreambles]\docommand
  \ifoneJSpreamble
\gdef\allJSpreambles{collected}%
  \fi
  \globallet\presetJSpreamble\relax
  \egroup
\fi}

Thanks, it works now.

Re: [NTG-context] questions on ctxtools and line break.

2008-12-07 Thread Dalyoung Jeong
Dear Mojca, Yue, and Hans,

Thank you for the help.
I updated ConTeXt and LuaTeX using rsync to the foler .../texlive/
2008/../texmf-local.

texmfstart texexec --make (--xtx) --all run smoothly, but luatools
still has a cnf error.

I'll do it again from the beginning when I have time.
However, it works fine in ConTeXt-minimal.

One day Mr. Wolfgang tried to do some work to set up standardization
of CJK for MKIV. However, it is not easy because Korean use space
between words.

The rules of line break for Korean is simple in saying. We don't need
any hyphenation inside word, so if it is longer than the \textwidth,
just make a line break at that position. There may be a little
adjustment to make it right flush.

For the details of the line breaking system for Korean, I'll talked to
the people in KTUG.
Some experts in KTUG will answer how to do that.
For ConTeXt, there is a font-kor.tex(by nomos) file which enable to
use Korean in ConTeXt. So they know what and how to do. I hope that we
find a good solution which is also good for the implementation in MKIV.

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

 Sorry for stupid question :(
That inclusion does really work but for a minor problem -
label parameter is ignored and the label (or name as it is displayed
by the Reader - that is what in the T key of movie annotation dictionary)
 is always set to dummy.

To reproduce - context the following

 \pdfcompresslevel=0
 \pdfminorversion=7
 \starttext
 \placefigure[here]{none}{\externalfigure[nonexistentfile.mov][label=mylabel,width=0.7\textwidth,
  height=.7\textwidth]}
 \stoptext

and look into pdf with text/binary editor or open it in Adobe Reader.

remin dme to look into it end of next week
