Re: [NTG-context] setuphead for in-paragraph head ?

2014-01-10 Thread Otared Kavian
Hi Wolfgang,

In mkiv, even using \startanswer, \stopanswer (and the same syntax with
questions and hints) the blocks mechanism seems to be broken.
The error message is still the following:

\dostopnormalblock ...meter \c!after \par \egroup

 ...fact that $2\times 5 = 10$. \dostopnormalblock
  \dostartnormalblock {hint}...
\dodowithpar ...dler \v!construction \endcsname #1
  \csname \??constructionsto...

When I understand a little bit more about that mechanism I’ll do other testings
and eventually ask Hans about what has been changed regarding blocks.
Best regards: OK

The given example works for me, with context-standalone, with some

I tried the example of "Problem to install Garamond font with mathdesign".
It for me, save I encounter exactly the same problems as those I've
described for KPfonts, using, in fact, "mathdesign" as template.

(Note: it's pure ConTEXt-standalone: I do not have these fonts in my
TeX-Live tree. Though I do have these fonts, installed manually, from
ctan, in my local "${HOME}/texmf/fonts/" tree.)

% file: test.tex

\loadtypescriptfile[mathdesign]

\starttext

$\Gamma\Gamma\bf\Gamma$

\setupbodyfont[garamond]

$\Gamma\Gamma\bf\Gamma$

\stoptext

(Gammas are squeezed together and \bf is ineffective, which is not so
with modern).

If the assumption that "mdugmr7m.tfm" contains the metrics for
"md-gmm7m.pfb" is correct, then fontforge show it (mdugmr7m), contains
bold characters, which then should show.

Again, I might be misunderstanding.

For using "context" instead of "texexec", put this in your init-file:

(eval-after-load 'tex
  '(add-to-list
  'TeX-command-list
  '("ConTeXt" "context --nonstopmode %t"
TeX-run-TeX nil (context-mode) :help "Run ConTeXt")))

If you prefer to use context-mode by default for every file with ".tex" as
suffix, then you can add this to your init-file:

(add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.tex\\'" . context-mode))

Then you won't need the "Local Variables" section at the end of each
ConTeXt-file.

in the simplest case a Context document consists of

\starttext
Your text
\stoptext

(commented) lines added after \stoptext are ignored.

Set ConTeXt as your default TeX flavor in the AUCTEX settings. AUCTEX ->
Tex Default Mode -> Check "Other" then type in context-en-mode or, if
English is not your language, modify appropriately

[NTG-context] server downtime on Monday 2013-01-13

2014-01-10 Thread Mojca Miklavec
Hi,

on Monday (13th January) afternoon (European time) there might be
shorter black-outs on one of the contextgarden.net servers and the
ctan.ijs.si mirror.

In particular this could effect the "minimals" (the standalone ConTeXt
distribution) which you can also find on the mirror
rsync://metatex.org/minimals and other less critical sites (subversion
- only used for developers, meeting pages, ConTeXt Group, ...). The
wiki won't be affected.

This is just what I was looking for. Thanks you all for your replies.
I will also check the other ones, with the questions/hints/answers

You're right, TeXLive apparently doesn't ship LuajitTeX. I don't use
TeXLive myself, but have an installation for testing. Having set up
the PATH for TeXLive "context " invokes TeXLive's version on
my system. However, "context --jit " invokes context
standalone's LuajitTeX since it can't be found in TeXLive's path and
I didn't remove context standalone from my PATH. I should have
noticed that before due to the version mismatch. Sorry for the
misinformation.

Only the ConTeXt distribution
(http://distribution.contextgarden.net/setup/), but if TL serves you
well, you can also simply fetch the binary
(http://distribution.contextgarden.net/current/bin/luajittex/)
provided that one exists for you architecture, make sure it's
executable and place it in the same folder where other TeX Live
binaries are.
