Re: [onap-discuss][integration] TestVNF demo and discussion

2018-10-05 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

Its great that I think everybody is actually thinking along the same lines and
I think we just have to figure out how to combine efforts and ideas in the best
way.

I think what we are proposing would be to extent the “basic_vm” in a flexible
way that would allow for the first level of ONAP functional and scale testing.

Hopefully we can get a path forward between Monday and the integration meeting
on Wednesday.

Subject: Re: [onap-discuss][integration] TestVNF demo and discussion

Hi Andrew

during the ONS summit in Amsterdam last week we made a similar demo based on
the automated tests we introduced in our CI/CD chains for the Orange Openlab:
https://events.linuxfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Orange-Openlab-A-Full-Automated-Telco-Stack-for-the-Community-David-Blaisonneau-Nicolas-Edel-Orange.pdf

Basically we thought that the healthcheck were not enough for our CI/CD chains,
that is why we integrated these simple end to end tests based on Open Source
VNFs.
This topic was introduced during Los Angeles ONS one year ago, we asked for a
repository at that time from integration project but did not get it so we
pushed our code on gitlab.com.
https://gitlab.com/Orange-OpenSource/onap-tests

The idea for us was to be able to run basic end to end ONAP test.
Robot is already providing a complete vFW case and could be reused for such
needs.
We were not so familiar with Robot and wanted something simple, generic and
usable as a lib to be included in other portal such as the one for teh TMF API
(https://events.linuxfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/SDO-Open-Source-When-TMF-APIs-Meet-ONAP-Ren%C3%A9-Robert-Matthieu-Geerebaert-Orange.pdf
 => https://gitlab.com/Orange-OpenSource/onap_new_portal

For the moment we integrated 3 test cases
- basic_vm: deploy a simple Ubuntu VM through ONAP: really basic but it helps
us to identify issues regularly (even the helathcheck claims everything is OK)
- last one was a disk full in SO, all pods/supervizion were happy and running
but an exception occured in BPMN module of SO
- freeradius_nbi: very basic one as well, a freeradius server installed at VM
boot. But we instantiate the VM through the NBI module => allows to see if NBI
is still OK
- clearwater_ims: this VNF is already onboarded in OPNFV functest with several
orchestrators: heat, cloudify (and previously openBaton, open-O). I need to
complete the ONAP case by adding all the default signaling tests already
integrated in OPNFV for the other orchestrators.

and for each VNF, the test case performs the following actions
- onboarding of the solution based on a template heat. it performs all the SDC
operations and generates the tosca files
- instantiation of the VNFn concretely chaining of actions done manually
through the VID including the SDNC preload
- clean of the VNF (delete the VF module, VNF, service + delete the associated
preload)

All these test cases are integrated in xtesting framework a lightweight
framework developped in OPNFV
(https://events.linuxfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/LFN-Xcommunities-Testing-Morgan-Richomme-Cedric-Ollivier-Orange.pdf).
so we are consistant in the way to launch all our tests: the infrastructure
tests on OpenStack, then on Kubernetes and the Onap tests (healthhcheck tests
embedded in xtesting + end 2 end VNFs)

concretely we run a docker or a kubernetes job
I added the logs associated with such tests in copy

If needed and if some space in the agenda we can plan a demo during the next
integration meeting on Wednesday.

Regards

Morgan

Re: [onap-discuss] [OOM] SDNC is not installing when installing a subset of ONAP in Rancher/Kubernetes

2018-10-02 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

I was running into something similar and I think it is a little more complex
(still investigating but think I’m close to the root of the problem)

I think the parsing in the deploy.sh is a tiny bit off and it is been confused
by the sniro-emulator as the “–“ isn’t in the word definition.

I think if you enable the sniro-emulator
enabled : true

then it won’t mess up the sdnc.

I’m going to write a bug on it ASAP.

Or in the file
~/.helm/plugins/deploy/deploy.sh

Change the line
local s='[[:space:]]*' w='[a-zA-Z0-9_]*' fs=$(echo @|tr @ '\034')

to

local s='[[:space:]]*' w='[a-zA-Z0-9_-]*' fs=$(echo @|tr @ '\034')

Please note : I haven’t tested this a lot

/Andrew

For SDNC you need something like this (from integration-override.yaml):
Remember the default is enabled: true so I think the issue is its not liking
the mysql section vs the enableClustering: true/false

Brian

sdnc:
  replicaCount: 3
  config:
enableClustering: true

or

sdnc:
  replicaCount: 1
  config:
enableClustering: false

[onap-discuss] [integration] vserver creation and relationships for scale out usecase

2018-09-04 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

I’m trying to get the existing Scale-out usecase to work and it seems to be
very dependent on having the vserver data populated in the A DB and having
the relationships to this from the deployed nodes.

How was this data populated into the DB as I can’t see where it is read from
the openstack as part of the “robot init” ??

Any clues more than welcome.

Thanks

/Andrew

[onap-discuss] [integration] [VNFSDK] Creating a TEST VNF

2018-08-10 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

At the last Integration team meeting there was a discussion about the need for
a test VNF which had a different focus to the vFW that we are using now.

I had created a task some time ago related to this and it seems like there is
some enthusiasm for this now so I will try to follow up an report back to the
integration team with a way forward.

Can you please look at the Jira https://jira.onap.org/browse/INT-355 for my
initial thinking and look at
https://wiki.onap.org/download/attachments/16002054/BeijingDevForum2017-Dec-13-main-0.mp4?version=1=1513294598000=v2
 @ 05:26:40
and
https://onapbeijing2017.sched.com/event/D5pg/progressing-onap-testing-and-integration-with-a-dummy-vnf
 & https://schd.ws/hosted_files/onapbeijing2017/49/ONAP-DummyVNF.pptx

I have created a sub tack which is to try and move the story forward. I intend
to report back to the Integration team next week.

At this stage I would like to confirm requirements and find proposed ways
forward e.g. do we develop something ourselves can we inherit something from
some other opensource project etc.

Please reply to this thread with any ideas/proposals or leave comments on the
JIRA and I will correlate it back to the integration team for a proposed way
forward.

/Andrew

PS:

I have previously made a “dummy” VNF which was just an extension of the Apache
MINA project with a “toy” netconf subsystem added. This didn’t supply a netconf
server as it had no persistence but it allowed APPC to communicate with the
endpoint exposed. It allowed the responses to be configured in runtime via
groovy scripts with no compile time effort. I’m not sure if this a good way to
proceed as it would mean us (ONAP) developing and maintaining a test VNF.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration][so] Creation of the AR_RECIPE table in SO DB

2018-06-23 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

I've looked into this a bit further.

The CreateVcpeResCustService and the CreateCustomE2EServiceInstance both deal
with Allotted Resources (AR) but they do so in quite different ways.

The CreateVcpeResCustService workflow has the specific AR's that it deals with
"hard coded" in and then it calls a specific BPMN sub workflow to deal with the
AR.

The CreateCustomE2EServiceInstance deals with the AR's in a generic fashion and
calls back to SO to find the specific recipe to use for the given AR. This
method is failing due to what I think is just a bug (see attached mail).

We want to write a Workflow to deal with AR's and I think the
CreateCustomE2EServiceInstance is the correct pattern to follow. Probably we
should just try to modify/fix the CreateCustomE2EServiceInstance to suit our
needs instead of creating a new one.

Any comments on what would be the preferred pattern to use would be welcome.

Thanks

/Andrew

vCPE workflow uses it I think.

Did you distribute a model like vCPE-vGW that uses allotted resource ?

Has anyone tried to work with Allotted resources in Beijing Release.

We were making progress through the workflows and then found that the table
AR_RECIPE was missing.

I can see were the other tables are created but the AR_RECIPE seemed to be
missing.

Have I done something badly wrong ??

I also saw that ArRecipe seemed to be missing in

[onap-discuss] [integration][vid][aai] Distribution status attribute in AAI for models

2018-05-03 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

Looking at the latest (todays) images for VID and AAI I think I see a mismatch.

VID is doing a query into AAI looking for
{"start" : "service-design-and-creation/models/","query" :
"query/serviceModels-byDistributionStatus?distributionStatus=DISTRIBUTION_COMPLETE_OK"}

But in the distributed model I only have
{
  "model-version-id": "2add64e4-9cce-46c1-82dd-7a7565fe2f89",
  "model-name": "EricssonMME",
  "model-version": "1.0",
  "model-description": "",
  "resource-version": "1525356180694"
}

No models were found by vid.

I updated the model with a PUT so that I had

{
  "model-version-id": "2add64e4-9cce-46c1-82dd-7a7565fe2f89",
 "model-name": "EricssonMME",
  "model-version": "1.0",
  "distribution-status": "DISTRIBUTION_COMPLETE_OK",
  "model-description": "",
  "resource-version": "1525365593392"
}

And then the model appears in VID.

Should AAI be setting the distribution-status ?? or is Vid been to strict

Thanks

/Andrew

[onap-discuss] [integration][oom] UI on windows

2018-05-01 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

Following on from the script developed by Mandeep at
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=oom.git;a=blob_plain;f=kubernetes/portal/launch-onap-portal.sh;hb=HEAD)
  I have developed the even more simplistic script to run on windows.

In order to run this you have to install kubectl on Windows which was done
following the instructions at
https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/tools/install-kubectl/#install-with-chocolatey-on-windows
which involved installing (chocolately)
https://chocolatey.org/

also the file

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts as administrator

Must be updated to include the lines
127.0.0.1 portal.api.simpledemo.onap.org
127.0.0.1 sdc.api.simpledemo.onap.org
127.0.0.1  vid.api.simpledemo.onap.org

This worked for me as seems simple enough to be used in testing environments at
least.

[onap-discuss] [appc][sdnc][so] How is VNF mounted in APPC during instantiation?

2017-10-27 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

It could be that I have misunderstood some concepts if so please excuse my lack
of knowledge.

I have managed to get a VNF module to be deployed using the latest software
(not using Multi VIM but heat directly ). As part of this the preload data is
read from the SDNC and then the heat template is a executed from SO.

I can see that the VNF is added to the SDNC topology but I thought it would
also have to be mounted as a mount point and I thought the allocated IP
addresses would have to be stored in AAI or added to the SDNC/APPC. Neither of
these seem to be attempted.

I can mount the VNF manually using the SDNC or APPC API but should this not be
done as part of the SO workflow ?

I know that APPC/SDNC can have the DG workflows but I didn't think I would have
to make any updates to them for a simple VNF.

Have I missed something really basic.

Thank you.

Re: [onap-discuss] [dcae] DCAE GEN2 dependency on Openstack Designate

2017-10-17 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

I have tried to work around this problem as well and described it in an earlier
mail.

I'm not sure if this is a reasonable approach as my understanding of DCAE
deployment is very limited but it spark the debate.

Subject: [onap-discuss] [dcae] DCAE GEN2 dependency on Openstack Designate

Hi Lusheng and DCAE Team,

Recently I've learnt that DCAE Gen2 (ONAP R1 DCAE) has dependency on Open Stack
Designate Service. It is problematic since not all cloud environments contain
Designate (it is not a "core" Open Stack service, in our case we do not have
it). For lab env. in most cases it is not big issue to install, but in cases
where production clouds with Designate are used to host ONAP - it is issue.
Thus I have two questions:

-Is there any workaround allowing to install DCAE GEN2 without
Designate?

-Is long term strategy to keep this dependencies? If so, will other
components also rely on it (today, if I am correct, only DCAE uses Designate)?

Best regards,
Michał

I made up the three files included and stored them on the /root of the

Andrew,

This is how far we could go until OpenStack Designate support is added to the
Integration lab openstack. We are actively working with the Integration and
WindRiver team on resolving this.

In the meanwhile the VES collector and TCA are manually installed so VNF data
can flow through.

Hi,

Trying to take advantage of some different time zones.

Looking at the distribution from SDC to MSO this seems to have failed (I have a

I have written

Maybe this doesn’t show up in the windriver lab but just in case it might speed

Re: [onap-discuss] DCAE running or not?

2017-06-22 Thread Andrew Fenner
Hi,

I've been trying to get this working as well.

I can see the RAX-KSKEY is coming from the ncomp code
./openstack/ncomp-openstack-controller/src/main/java/org/openecomp/ncomp/openstack/controller/tools/OpenStackUtil.groovy

...
def req = [ url : "$keystoneUrl/tokens", method : "POST",.
body :[ auth : [passwordCredentials : [username:
username, password: password], tenantId: tenantId]].
].
.
// RACKSPACE.
if (project.apiKey != null) {.
req.body.auth =  ["RAX-KSKEY:apiKeyCredentials" :
[username: username, apiKey: JavaHttpClient.decryptPassword(project.apiKey)]].
}.

I tried to change the configuration files to remove the apiKey so that it
didn't think it was in RACKSPACE.

I didn't manage to get this changed (maybe I missed something) as the
configuration files generation seems to be also coded in.

I changed the code in OpenStackUtil.groovy to work around this issue but ran
into some others which I will try to progress on but I would like to know more
what the dcae demo is intending to do, related to vanilla openstack deployment,
so that I don't waste time if they are trying to solve the same problem if
others are working on it.

Thanks

/Andrew

Hi Daniel,
I read indeed that DCAE _should_ run run with the latest template... but I
still see some issue which makes me believe it can't. To double check. I
re-created the DCAE-VM (the one defined in the HEAT template) in openstack from
the image, let the cloud init stuff run and got the same results as before. In
particular
The floatip heat template defined "artifacts_version: 1.1.0-SNAPSHOT", the
cloud init downloads

curl -k
https://nexus.onap.org/content/sites/raw/org.openecomp.demo/boot/1.1.0-SNAPSHOT/dcae_install.sh-o
 /opt/dcae_install.sh

Install.sh in turn creates, amongst other stuff files in
/opt/dcae-startup-vm-controller/, where on of the files is docker-compose.yml
which in turn names " dcae-controller: image:
nexus3.onap.org:10001/openecomp/dcae-controller:1.0.0". In summary; have this
docker image running as a container.
When I look at the incoming network request on the controller, I can see that
dcae-controller sends an request which is not compatible with the below
mentioned Openstack specification of the v2.0 keystone interface and which is
consequently responded to with "400 Bad request"

Now, as I trust you guys to have checked this piece already - what's going
wrong with my setup? If somebody can point us to the place where the RAY-KSKEY
payload is defined in the code would be well appreciated.

The floatip heat stack should let dcae spin up in generic openstack

Re: [onap-discuss] ONAP deployment with latest images/docker/code - VID issue

2017-05-17 Thread Andrew Fenner
Update:
Based on some feedback this is seen not to be an e2e tested setup so I
continued to investigate.

I managed to get the authentication_mechanism = BOTH set and the war rebuild so
I got past that problem. How I am considently asked for my login details and
when I put them in I get a 404 error.

There is an exception
...
Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
http://vid.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org:8080/vid/api/sessionTimeOuts
...

It looks like a v2 is missing on the url but this is more and more looking like
there is a significant incompatible change between VID and Portal.

So I think this might be part of the cause. Any thoughts of where this should
come from would be welcome.

I also updated the docker start of the vid with "-e VID_UEB_APP_KEY=ueb_key -e
VID_UEB_APP_SECRET=ueb_secret" so that it matched up with what was installed in
the portal (this removed an exception but didn't seem to be important).

I also had to add vm1-message-router to the hosts file of the portal docker
container

Thanks

/Andrew

Subject: [onap-discuss] ONAP deployment with latest images/docker/code - VID
issue

Hi,

I had deployed previous deployed ONAP based on the branches suggested and got
the demo working. Then I tried to move to a "latest" software, so I know I
might be in uncharted waters but I wondered is this the place to get help,
please point me to other forum if its more apprioriate.

I have the branches etc set as follows
ubuntu@vm1-vid:/opt$ cat /opt/config/artifacts_version.txt
/opt/config/docker_version.txt /opt/config/gerrit_branch.txt
1.1.0-SNAPSHOT
1.1-STAGING-latest
master

The docker containers download and after one change to the vid_vm_init.sh the
server seems to be up.
The change
docker run -e VID_MYSQL_DBNAME=vid_openecomp -e
VID_MYSQL_PASS=Kp8bJ4SXszM0WXlhak3eHlcse2gAw84vaoGGmJvUy2U --name vid-server -p
8080:8080 --link vid-mariadb:vid-mariadb-docker-instance -d
$NEXUS_DOCKER_REPO/openecomp/vid:$DOCKER_IMAGE_VERSION
to
docker run -e VID_MYSQL_DBNAME=vid_openecomp_epsdk -e
VID_MYSQL_PASS=Kp8bJ4SXszM0WXlhak3eHlcse2gAw84vaoGGmJvUy2U --name vid-server -p
8080:8080 --link vid-mariadb:vid-mariadb-docker-instance -d
$NEXUS_DOCKER_REPO/openecomp/vid:$DOCKER_IMAGE_VERSION

However once I try to launch the VID from the portal I get the error
2017-05-16
12:22:50,901|39d38c21-06e7-4bf6-a244-dc1f56e4dab9||http-apr-8080-exec-6||/single_signon.htm|292b461a-2954-4b63-a3f9-f916c7ad3bc0|WARN|INFORMATIONAL|172.17.0.3|9e55538716e8
 Handler execution resulted in exception: required key
[authentication_mechanism] not found

This seems to be related the lack on an attribute
authentication_mechanism = BOTH
in the
/opt/vid/epsdk-app-onap/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/fusion/conf/fusion.properties

I also got the error
2017-05-16
12:08:53,961|||localhost-startStop-1ERROR|INFORMATIONAL|172.17.0.3|9e55538716e8||org.openecomp.portalsdk.core.util.SystemProperties||
 getProperty: environment is null, should never happen!
Which is a bit worrying.

It looks like I'm not getting a consistent set of downloads and I was looking
for any advice on how to proceed

SDC seems to be working and I got a Service distributed to A so a lot of the
latest seems to have worked so that is why I was hoping to get past this issue
with VID.

Thanks

/Andrew
