Re: [onap-discuss] [ONAP Helpdesk #60692] Jira strikethrough issue

2018-09-12 Thread Randa Maher
Hi Jess,

I don't believe this has anything to do with the "Unresolved" option being
available in the Resolution field.
If I update Resolution field to any string on an "Open" ticket, causes it to
strikeout in dashboard.
The issue is having access to the Resolution field during initial creation or
while ticket is in progress (I think this would cover, Open, In-Progress, and
Submitted states. Delivered and Closed are Resolved/Closed states)

Yes, I agree, I don't recall ever having this problem with previous version of
Jira. This issue is only new with the updated Jira version, I think.

We should have a Sandbox project that uses sandbox copies of all the work
flows, screens, etc.. to that we can test out things; otherwise, it's moot
having Sandbox if they share the same as the production projects.

Hi Randa,

Actually I remember we used to just have the "Unresolved" default state and not
the actual "Unresolved" one. We didn't used to have these issues back then.

Another thing we can probably do is rename the non default "Unresolved" state
to something different like "Not resolved". Although, this will require
approval from all the teams to avoid confusions.

At least is worth trying rather than than patching the current problem using
the transitions.

Unfortunately, I cannot modify the resolutions for just the sandbox. These
resolutions affect all workflows.

Let me know what you think

Thanks!
Jess

Re: [onap-discuss] [ONAP Helpdesk #60692] Jira strikethrough issue

2018-09-10 Thread Randa Maher
Hi Jess,
Yes, it is a very strange behavior. Not sure why Jira doesn't use the Status
field to determine strikethrough instead of Resolution.
Maybe we can remove the "unresolved" option from the Resolution field and allow
Jira to default it to Unresolved on the Create screen.
However, not sure how we would deal with Reopen or how Jira handles that state
transition.
Sorry, I no longer have admin access to a Jira instance to play around, but let
me know if you want me to test our anything in Sandbox.
Thanks, Randa

Hi Randa,

I think the issue is also related with JIRA using "Unresolved" as a default
option which is different from the "Unresolved" set manually by any user. In
the default case, "Unresolved" is more like a NULL or an empty value set by
JIRA. Is a weird behavior.

I can see if I can just add the resolution option for this transition.
I will isolate a separate workflow for sandbox same as the one used by all
project and make the changes there.

Will let you know once this is configured

Thanks!

[onap-discuss] Jira strikethrough issue

2018-09-09 Thread Randa Maher
Dear LF support,

An issue has arisen around Jira issues marked with a strikethrough on the
backlog dashboard when issues are not really resolved or closed.
The issues seems to be linked to the Resolution field, which in some projects
is available on all screens.
When the Resolution field is changed (even if from Unresolved to Unresolved),
Jira is treating this as resolved and shows a strikethrough on Jira issue on
the dashboard.
This presents an inconvenience and inefficiency for the teams since they cannot
simple look at their dashboard to know what issues are truly
resolved/completed, they need to view each issue to know it's real status.

The way to address this issue from what I have been able to gather is to only
present the Resolution field on the edit screen when an issue is moved to
Delivered or Closed.
Please let us know if this can be fixed. Maybe we can do some testing in the
Sandbox project?

Thanks, Randa

Re: [onap-discuss] Jira workflow change for designated projects

2018-08-10 Thread Randa Maher
Hi Keong,

The Jira in a Submitted state is still owned by the person who made the Gerrit
submission. They are ultimately responsible for ensuring Gerrit submission
passes all reviews so that it can be merged. PTL and other reviewers
would/should get alerted of the Gerrit submit via Gerrit notification.

Reassigning ticket in Submit state I think just adds unnecessary administrative
overhead.

Once Gerrit is +2/merged, the assignee of the Jira would update it to Delivered.
At this point, I think it should be up to team practices to decide if they want
Stories assigned back to PTL (or Reporter) for closure or allow assignee to
close ticket.

I hope this is helpful. I don't profess to have all the answers, but above
worked very well for us.

Thanks, Randa

Hi Randa,

With the "Submitted" state corresponding to submitting a commit to Gerrit for
review, should the JIRA workflow use a "post transition function" to reassign
the JIRA case to a different user, e.g. the JIRA Project lead/component lead
(i.e. PTL) or designated reviewer?

What is the normal process for reviewers to be alerted to pending Gerrit
reviews?

Thanks,

Re: [onap-discuss] Jira workflow change for designated projects

2018-08-09 Thread Randa Maher
Hi Keong,
Thank you for feedback.

I believe the way it works is that Resolution is Unresolved by default upon
creation of an issue and stays in that state until Jira is "Delivered" (aka
Resolved in the Atlassian default workflow naming convention) or "Closed.
The Resolution field should be visible when we transition to those two states;
however, that is not how LF has set it up on some of the projects.

We can correct this by asking LF to only make Resolution a visible/editable
field only in cases where we are transitioning to Delivered or Closed.
I think Jira always intended to allow users to update Resolution field since it
provides multiple default Resolution tags. If a user does not manually update
the Resolution, then everything is just marked Done, which does not provide
enough insight to what true disposition of a ticket.

Also, on Reopen, the Resolution should be reset to "Unresolved"

Maybe LF can comment more on this.

Thanks, Randa

Hi Randa,

Just wanted to point out that when a user manually sets the "Resolution" field
in JIRA, the server also automatically sets the "Resolved Date" field, even if
the "Resolution" is "Unresolved". This is already causing confusion in JIRA and
its widgets because some of them use "Resolved Date" as an indication of the
case being "resolved", whereas others filtering on the text of the "Resolution"
field.

Taking a specific example,
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__jira.onap.org_browse_SDNC-2D357=DwIFaQ=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg=kyPZ229JImvwwKH-78nlyg=y4YMrDywk9gMLi63Yk9d89OwlPwEosfDBV034KrPWlw=Vsb2z49uLt6_I9NnsxT_kHkAaAP58l_zAmJ-WV99MAM=
is currently "Unresolved" with "Resolved Date" of "28/Jun/18".
When viewed on the Agile board, it is displayed with a "strikethrough" style,
indicating it's "resolved" and when using burn-down charts widgets, etc, it
will be counted towards "resolved" cases, throwing off all the stats.

Instead of direct changes to the "Resolution" field, it should be part of the
workflow buttons, so that the "post transition functions" can do things like:
- set the "Resolution" field
- clear the "Resolved Date"

to more appropriate values, reducing confusion.

Re: [onap-discuss] APPC artifact upload

2018-06-22 Thread Randa Maher
Hi Adam,

While APPC does support receiving distributions from SDC, we really don't have
a use case for this today.

Today, we use CDT to build the models and artifacts that are needed by APPC to
support the various LCM actions.

While I research APPC-203 a little further, can you elaborate on what you are
trying to do so that we can provide further guidance?

Thanks, Randa

Subject: [onap-discuss] APPC artifact upload

Hi,

I've just started work with APPC. I've found out that since
https://jira.onap.org/browse/APPC-203
artifacts are not pulled from SDC using DistributionClient.

In project appc-inbound there is API (RPC method
'artifact-handler:uploadartifact') that gives functionality to add artifacts.

Problem is that I can't find any usage of it in SDC.

Can anyone tell me if there is any component that uses it or artifacts have to
be pushed to APPC manually?

Br,

Adam

Re: [onap-discuss] AppC CDT Gui not saving the vnfs

2018-06-22 Thread Randa Maher
Santosh,
Your use case is not clear to me. What are you trying to do exactly?

CDT will allow you to create the template to use for a specific VNF
type/action. The templates will vary depending on the action. It sound like you
are trying to create Configuration templates for your VNF.
The template s stored in the MySQL DB. Templates will be retrieve when APPC
receives an LCM Configure action request for your VNF and variables in the
template will be replaced with configuration data received in payload of LCM
Configure action request.

Can you please elaborate further on what you are trying to do?

Thanks, Randa

Subject: [onap-discuss] AppC CDT Gui not saving the vnfs

Hi ,
We have Onap installed on OOM. I am trying to Onboard Vnf with action
using the CDT tool as per CDT user guide. After creating all the configuration
on reference data ,template and parameter tabs of the CDT application , when i
click the save all to appc , I get all success messages but the vnf does not
get stored. I am tried to locate the log for application in container and could
locate it. can anyone guide me where is the logs for Appc CDT stored and in
which which db the details get stored appc db or CDT uses its own database?
Regards
Santosh

Re: [onap-discuss] [ONAP Helpdesk #57562] Jira and Gerrit integration not reliable

2018-06-21 Thread Randa Maher
Hi Andy,
Thanks for quick response.
What you list is always my go to work-around, but it works maybe 10% of the
time.
There an issue here that warrants further investigation.

Greetings Randa,

The integration is working. The issue is that the plugin maintains a cache of
changes that it's aware of. If at anytime you are feeling that there is
something that isn't being shown then to the right of the Gerrit header there
is a pull down (down arrow) that you can toggle between the view of the types
of issues. Whenever this is done it will _force_ the plugin to invalidate the
cache and recheck for changes that meet the linking criteria.

There is no configuration for the plugin that we can set to avoid this.
The only configuration we have is to point the plugin at a single Gerrit
instance and set the search query that is used to find linked issues.

[onap-discuss] Jira and Gerrit integration not reliable

2018-06-21 Thread Randa Maher
Dear Helpdesk,

Can you tell me why Jira sometimes shows the Gerrit submission and sometimes
not.
I have not been able to identify a pattern to this. It seems to randomly work.
This is a real productivity issue when we can't reliably depend on Jira to show
us the linked Gerrit submission and we have to hunt around for things in Gerrit.

Thanks, Randa

Re: [onap-discuss] How to restart ODL service for APPC

2018-06-21 Thread Randa Maher
Hello Santosh,

I’m adding Aaron to assist with your questions, but you need to provide a bit
more context.
Are you working with Heat or OOM?

Thanks, Randa

/opt/opendaylight/current/etc/
