[onap-discuss] Redundant use case info

2018-12-03 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
HI,

I think there is a redundancy on the main ReadtheDoc page in regards to Use
case,
See screenshot below:
Point 1 points to Use
Cases<https://docs.onap.org/en/casablanca/guides/onap-developer/use-cases/index.html>
with then a link to "VFirewall use
case<https://docs.onap.org/en/casablanca/guides/onap-developer/use-cases/vfw.html>"
And Point 2 which was recently created, and that we need to keep.

I would like to propose removing the link to Use
Cases<https://docs.onap.org/en/casablanca/guides/onap-developer/use-cases/index.html>.

Objections? Concerns? Suggestions are welcome. I would like to remove it later
today by COB Monday, Dec 3.

Hi Gildas,

I was wondering where I can find the whole list of the tests mentioned in the
first page of the ppt you sent (14 test cases and 17 test cases). I could find
a few tests at https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/CCVPN+Integration+Test+Case but
it is not all.

Could you please send me the link if there is any in wiki?

The docker-manifect for SDC is not updated yet.
According the commit https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/73302/ that generated the

Could we do something to move forward?

Hello

For Casablanca, it was decided to fix resource limits for every container
deployed
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=45285850

Some Helm charts does not include resource requirements and others only
include resource requirements for unlimited flavor and not taken into account

Can you please have a look on your Helm charts to fix resource requirements ?

The following PODs have only resources fixed to unlimited {} or defined with

Re: [onap-discuss] Update S3P for TSC

2018-11-21 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi Michael,

We has some licensing compliance with the tool we are using for the scan.
To circumvent the issue, we had to create a restricted to committers wiki space
that embeds the “Artifact”, “Version”, and “Problem Code”. This helps committer
to track exactly their issue.

For general audience, SECCOM team created an open to everyone, curated wiki
page without the labeled “Artifact”, “Version”, and “Problem Code”. RN is
ReadTheDocs will point toward the curated wiki page.

Hope this help.

Still a wip in my queue along with other work – I have almost finished details
on the last couple ones for sdnc-context-builder – I find copying from the
nexus-iq sections to this security page extremely tedious – figuring out each
exploit and recommending a compensating control not in (upgrade to the latest,
use an alternate) is going to take some time – especially with the pomba code
and with re-integration testing - in hind sight I should have just labeled
everything with an ignore action like some of the other teams.

I don’t understand what this issue is with the columns and links – the security
page is not accessible to the public – hence why no one except committers can
access the page.

  1. Remove the columns labeled “Artifact”, “Version”, and “Problem Code”.
This are fields that cannot be publicly accessible per the license.

I followed the existing template – there are other pages like a random pick
below that contain these columns and links.

  1. Remove the links to NexusIQ reports.

This are fields that cannot be publicly accessible per the license.
  3. Remove all entries about licenses.
  4. Indicate if the vulnerability is a false positive (not exploitable from
the logging code) or exploitable.
  5. For all exploitable vulnerabilities, describe any compensating controls
that a user of ONAP can put in place to reduce the risk of the vulnerability
being exploited.
  6. Make sure that all security vulnerabilities in the NexusIQ reports are
accounted for in the Vulnerability review table.
Thank you for your attention to this.

Hello Gildas

I am note sure that we can remove it because there is still some available code
for such installation and it includes new code to cross proxies. I also believe
that it is still used by teams for test purposes. We also need to update it.

However, as Kubernetes based installation is the recommended one, we must find
a best way to document it as the entry point for the ONAP installation.

I suggest to describe the OOM installation directly in the SettingUP ONAP and
to let some links to heat and individual installation. I will propose such
evolution.

[onap-discuss] Heat Installation removal for Casablanca release

2018-11-16 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi,

I guess for Casablanca release, we should remove from ReadTheDocs all the
sections related to "Setting Up ONAP using

Thoughts?

The question is about deployment time, not building the Docker image.
Not sure how it clarify this. The question below is “While doing the deployment

Hope this helps.

I agree with Yang

We need to clarify the requirements. For the image building, it is not a
problem to launch git clone. It is a problem during the execution.

I think that it will be helpful to provide the links to the Dockerfiles and
associated scripts as Michael did.

Hi Gildas,

I think there might be some confusion w.r.t. the question, for MultiCloud
Dockerfile is only used during docker image building time, not deployment time.

For multicloud, dockerfile for image building will fetch the maven artifact,
execute wget/apt-get, but no git clone
For deployment of docker images of multicloud, wget/apt-get will not be
executed any more.

So it is important clarify the intent of the question: Is it for checking the
any dependency of ONAP installation?

Thanks

[onap-discuss] Update Docker Release Images

2018-11-14 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi PTLs,

I have done an analysis on the latest Docker Images released.
The date below is the date the latest Docker image has been released (according
to git history in
manifest-docker.csv<https://git.onap.org/integration/tree/version-manifest/src/main/resources/docker-manifest.csv>
file). For the projects highlighted in red, since the release's date there are
some "Highest" and "High" priority Jira defects that have been fixed and thus
these projects must release a new Docker Image.

New Docker Images are due by COB on Thursday, Nov 15. For the red projects, let
me know if you are on track to make it.

Subject: Non-functional requirement proposal for Dublin: Adopting ONAP
Normative Base Images

Alla, Gildas, Jason

Could you advise on the process we should follow to introduce this
non-functional requirement to the Dublin release?

Requirement: Use ONAP Normative Base Images to Improve deployability and reduce
footprint and resource consumption

Rationale:
Both operators looking to experiment with ONAP and developers producing ONAP
containers report long build times and high resource consumption. The OOM team
also reports long deployment times and high resource consumption.

Furthermore, small, efficient images also address the issue some operators have
reported when they have attempted to deploy ONAP to "kick the tires."

Proposed solution and benefits:
ONAP's CIA project has identified a set of container base images that, if
adopted, would alleviate the problems of resource consumption and long build
times ONAP projects are experiencing.

Experiments conducted with the proposed base images have produced container
images that were up to two orders of magnitude smaller. Smaller images
translate into smaller build and deploy times as well as smaller footprint.

Community support:
The idea of using these normative base images was presented to the PTL
community on October 8th, 2018. There is consensus and support for the
adoption of these base images and for the introduction of a non-functional
requirement for Dublin.

It was suggested that also cover the requirement under S3P, Jason Hunt has been
made aware of the requirement.

Timeline:
We propose that the requirement be met by M3.

Thanks,

Adolfo

[onap-discuss] Improve CSIT Jenkins tabs.

2018-08-16 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi Helpdesk,

I would like to bring some clarity on the current CSIT tab.
Currently the CSIT tab<https://jenkins.onap.org/view/CSIT> embeds all jobs
tagged as CSIT along with the one tagged as "verify".
As discussed at PTL meeting today, the CSIT jobs tagged as "verify" are
misleading and what really matters are the CSIT jobs not labelled as "verify".

The request is to create a CSIT view with all CSIT jobs but the one tagged as
verify. If people sees values in keeping the current CSIT tab, we could keep it.
This will help to get the community on focusing on what is really important by
providing a crisp view on CSIT status.

Your suggestions are welcome.

Forwarding below msg in behalf of Jonathan.

Greetings,
I completed the AAF Client Interface for Casablanca, and included a video
instruction for using the new AAF as a Developer.
http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/aaf/authz.git/docs/sections/development/
It includes:

  * How to setup your System to talk to AAF Test Env
  * How to generate Configurations and Credentials
  * How to code in Java.

Video instruction, etc, should post to “readthedocs.io”, but if not, here is
the WIKI based video: https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Instructional+Videos

I have other team members working on Python.

I will be out for a bit, please see Amy Zwarico who is covering my PTL

Subject: ONAP AAF now auto-generating Certificates for ONAP Apps
Greetings,
I (in AAF team) now have

  *   AAF Dev Environment
 *   Ready for Authorizations
 * Generates X509 Certificates for Apps on requests
  * Agent (for use by Apps)
 * Generates Configurations for Apps onto Container Volumes
 * These artifacts are written to Container Volumes, to be bound onto App
Containers for their Certificate and Communication needs
 * Deployment is a single step
 * Agent is a Container tool… implementation is not important… Configs
and “p12” files are usable by many technologies.
  * Client Documentation on how to do this is on readthedocs.io
 *
http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/aaf/authz.git/docs/sections/installation/client_vol.html

Errata:

  * The Certificates will use the FQDN and SANs we worked out manually for
Beijing
  * The Security Policy of AAF requires application information, and
delegation of Deployment authority. I have entered all the data for those
teams listed:

[cid:image001.png@01D4206F.0CA02EB0]

  * I plan on demoing Client Generation on Tuesday, 9am CDT, at our normal
AAF time. You are invited to attend, if you can make it.
  * AAF team needs to get the Container images posted on Monday. If you
build your own AAF from source, those built images can be used over the
weekend… see Installation from source.

Subject: ONAP DEV Environment powered up

Greetings,
I’m pleased to inform the community that I have the AAF Dev Environment up
and loaded.

This environment is separate from HEAT/OOM, as its main purpose to be up
consistently for developers to do their work.

To log into GUI (and peruse)

  * Must be run within “WindRiver” VPN. This is on “pod-onap-01”
  * I do not believe there is any DNS there, so you must
Add an /etc/hosts entry to
10.12.6.214 aaf-onap-test.osaaf.org

  * In your Browser, enter https://aaf-onap-test.osaaf.org:8095

All the “Portal” IDs are available, such as “demo”, “jh0003”, etc. They are,
however, “FQI”s, meaning Fully Qualified Identities. They are known in AAF as
d...@people.osaaf.org, etc. The passwords are
all the same, demo123456!

More in the docs as I complete the Client ones.

I also took the time to document how to build your own AAF in a Container

  *
http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/aaf/authz.git/docs/sections/installation/install_from_source.html

Yesterday, I also completed the ability to get your own Certificate.

My next step is to document that.

DEMOS:
I am probably going to offer a live demo to the community Tues morning
during normal AAF Team meeting. July 24, 2018, 9 AM CDT
 https://zoom.us/j/759645424

Interested Community members are welcome to join in for this.

Hi Tian,

Please work with AAI PTL Jimmy to get the request documented in AAI first in
wiki at
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Resources+and+Repositories#ResourcesandRepositories-ActiveandAvailableInventory

Once this is done, I will review and request LF creation accordingly.

Hi,

On this specific point:

TBD
*   aai/pomba/validation or aai/validation ?

I would be inclined to go with aai/validation, since the Validation service is
designed to be used in a variety of AAI flows (AAI data pre/post validation,
validation of DMaaP events etc), therefore is not specific to pomba.

Subject: [onap-discuss] [LOG][AAI][SDNC] for [POMBA] Request for 10 additional
Repos - CIMAN-169

LF, Jessica, Gildas,
Hi, I am putting in a formal request for some additional repos, (git,
gerrit, nexus, nexus3, sonar, Jenkins infrastructure).

There are 10 repos requested for the POMBA sub-project these are distributed
across logging-analtyics, SDNC and AA I understand the PTLs (Tim and Jimmy)
of sdnc and aai are aware of their requests - I have included all information
across the projects to help collaboration and consolidation of work for the
Linux Foundation. This includes Sharon and Prudence of the POMBA sub-project.
I am including Seshu from SO because I understand new repos are coming in
there soon as well - since we are all helping each other out - I would ask any
other project to join the conversation on any new repos they require so we can
compare notes..
The repos are of the AA model - where we have 1 repo per microservice.

DevOps jira only for logging-analytics so far has all these details and links
to the following 3 tracking jiras.
https://jira.onap.org/browse/CIMAN-169

https://jira.onap.org/browse/LOG-193

*   logging-analytics/pomba-context-aggregator

*   logging-analytics/pomba-aai-context-builder

*   logging-analytics/pomba-sdc-context-builder

*   logging-analytics/pomba-sdnc-context-builder

*   logging-analytics/pomba-network-discovery-context-builder

*   logging-analytics/pomba-audit-common

The 2 requests below - are for info only right now - I am deferring to the AAI
and SDNC projects to finalize these new repo requests - adding here for
completeness from the POMBA perspective
https://jira.onap.org/browse/AAI-1348
TBD
*   aai/pomba/validation or aai/validation ?

https://jira.onap.org/browse/SDNC-358
TBD
* sdnc/service-decomposition
* sdnc/network-discovery
* sdnc/network-discovery-api

We need to also review the proposed maven groupId, artifactId, version
(currently 1.1.2-SNAPSHOT) and java package name (org.onap.pomba in the sdnc
and aai repos for example) and update the API section of the M1 page for Monday
in all 3 projects.

Hi Michael,

I have updated the wiki at
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Resources+and+Repositories#ResourcesandRepositories-LoggingEnhancements
to update the "Maven Group ID" field.
Please review and confirm this is what you intended and we will take it from
there for Log project.
As you mentioned, we will wait request from other PTLs impacted by this
initiative to create their repos.

I see you added 2 extra columns labelled "Maven Artifact ID" and "Java package
name". I am not sure what is the purpose of these 2 extra columns. This won't
be used by LF. Could you explain?

Re: [onap-discuss] Resource and repository page

2018-07-03 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi Steve,

Sorry for my late answer.
Yes, Steve that page is still uptodate.
There are 2 exceptions:

1. For a few hours after a PTLs has edited the wiki page (to add repo)
and that I have reviewed the materials and sent out the request to LF to
execute; the wiki page is off compared to what Gerrit list at
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/admin/projects/

2. There is a potential discrepancy if someone add a repo in the wiki
page but DO NOT request me to review

In case you have a specific example that bother you, let me know I will be
glad to sort this out.

Thanks,
Gildas

Re: [onap-discuss] Guidelines for Casablanca Release Planning

2018-06-28 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi Alex, Ajay, Scott, Vimal, Shekar, Benjamin, Bin, Ramki, Raghu, Jason,
Stephen, Chris, Helen, Tao,

This email is primarily intended to the Functional Requirement, Non Functional
Requirements and Use Cases Owner.
On today TSC meeting, the TSC decided to postpone the M1 milestone to Monday,
July 2 at 6 am PDT in order to allow these owners to reach out to PTLs to
clarify the requirements so the PTLs can commit accordingly.
There was a discussion on which requirements to focus on. Let's be realistic,
we won't able to achieve everything in Casablanca and thus while at Beijing
last week it was requested to Service Provider to provide their priorities.
Looking at the outcome by the number of 1's, 2's and 3's, the following
priority appears:

1. Scaling

2. Change Management

3. "5G/PNF" and "Centralized Representation and Consistent ID of Cloud
Regions" (same ranking)

4. HPA. Note: During TSC meeting, Alex Vul committed to assign as many
resource necessary to complete HPA in Casablanca Release.

5. 5G/performance Analysis and Optimization

6. EA/Cloud Infrastructure for Distributed Edge Clouds

7. 5G/Network slicing (withdraw by owner)

There were also a concern from the TSC that currently there is no single
requirement that could be delivered because teams have spread out their
resources. We are hoping the above ranking will help to ensure end to end
deliver within Casablanca release.

@PTLs,

If not already done, please update the centralized Maturity
Platform<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Casablanca+Release+Platform+Maturity>
table and the outcome of the discussion with the Owner in
wiki<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Casablanca+Release+Requirements>.

Let me know if you have any question, I will be glad to help.

Thanks,
Gildas

Re: [onap-discuss] Guidelines for Casablanca Release Planning

2018-06-25 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi,

This is email is intended to clarify on the needs for coding activities for
both CCVPN and OSAM Use Cases.
While at Beijing last week, I heard that both use cases do NOT need coding
activities but are contingent on adding resources on impacted project and
Integration Team agreement.
This morning during PTLs meeting the above statement was challenged in a sense
of on why adding resources on a use case that is presented as no coding
activities.

May I ask the use case owner to confirm they do not expect coding activities
and the activities of these resources. I would recommend to reach out to PTLs
to back up their analysis.
For CCVPN, I expect a response from either Lin Meng or Jianguo Zeng, for OSAM
from Sumithra Bhojan, Bora Eliacik or Ryan Hallahan

Please add your comments directly in wiki page at
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Casablanca+Release+Requirements. That will
help PTLs for M1 scoping.

[onap-discuss] Guidelines for Casablanca Release Planning

2018-06-21 Thread gildas.lani...@huawei.com
Hi PTLS,

As you know M1 release planning for Casablanca release is scheduled for next
week on Thursday, June 28.
As usual, both the Project Plan [0] and Project checklist [1] templates have to
be filled out.
We had an intensive week here in Beijing discussing Casablanca release, find
below some guidelines to help on scoping.

>From a requirement perspective, at a high level the Casablanca Release
>Requirements<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Casablanca+Release+Requirements>
>summarizes the Use Case, the functional and the non-functional requirements.
>When it comes to the scoping exercise, here are a couple of considerations:

1) The over-arching theme for Casablanca is deployability

2) For the Functional requirement, to help out to prioritize, the TSC has
asked each Service Provider to prioritize the requirements. It looks to me that
Change Management and Scaling are leading the way. (details are
posted<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Casablanca+Release+Requirements>)

3) 2 new Use Cases have been presented: CCVPN and OSAM. These 2 use cases
are contingent to add resources to the impacted project team to develop the
functionalities and Integration Team bandwidth to perform testing.

4) For the non-functional, S3P, Security and Architecture Alignment are
important to take into account as well in the scoping exercise.

We will all meet on Monday at the PTL meeting to understand what can be
realistically scope in Casablanca timeline.
Hope this helps.
