[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Anyone using the Epson TM-T2011 Direct Thermal Printer?

2016-09-26 Thread Jennifer Pringle

Hello,

One of our libraries is looking at buying the Epson TM-T2011 Direct
Thermal Printer and has asked us if it will work with Evergreen. I
know other Epson receipt printers work well with Evergreen but don't
have any experience with this one specifically. Is anyone currently
using this printer?

Thanks,

Jennifer

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Questions About Age Overdue Circs to Lost

2016-09-26 Thread Jennifer Pringle
Thank you Holly and Ben. Knowing that this functionality is being
used and having the information about the action trigger and other set
up required is super helpful.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Quoting Holly Brennan :

We are, but we used Equinox to migrate over so it just works by
magic. We had this same function set up with our prior ILS and all
the settings we used prior were available in Evergreen, if that helps!

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Questions About Age Overdue Circs to Lost

Hello,

Is anyone currently using the Age Overdue Circs to Lost
functionality in Evergreen? (Admin -> Local Administration -> Age
Overdue Circs to
Lost) We've started testing this and so far haven't been able to
get it to work. Any information or documentation to point us in the
right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Staff Client - TypeError: document.getElementById("commonStrings") is null

2016-09-26 Thread Bill Erickson
Hi Dan,

In my experience, this error can occur for all manner of reasons, which
generally have nothing to do with the specific code mentioned in the
error. I think this code just happens to be among the first to fail when
the staff client is unable to load. (It may as well say "Uh oh, something
went wrong"). My first step when this happens is to make sure all of the
XUL client files are in the right place on the server (e.g. check Apache
access logs) and make sure API calls are succeeding (Evergreen activity/ACT
logs).

Hope this helps,

-b

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Case sensitivity in title search

2016-09-26 Thread Kathy Lussier

Hi Trisha,

To help troubleshoot this issue, try the following:

- When you're on the empty search results screen in the staff client,
click Debug, which appears to the left of the Print Button.

- A popup menu will appear. Click the Modify URL option. This can be a
little tricky. You need to make sure you hold down your mouse button
until you've selected Modify URL.

- A URL appears highlighted in a text entry box that matches the URL for
the search results page you are on. Copy this URL and paste it into your
browser so that you are now doing the search as a public catalog user.

I'm curious to know if you are still able to retrieve results in the
public catalog using this URL. There may be something else that changed
in the staff client search (different default scope, unnoticed limiter)
that may be affecting the search results. Re-executing the staff client
search in the public catalog can be useful in seeing what may have changed.

versions. The Opac for patrons operates fine. Thanks in advance.

I checked the search on Thorndike's OPAC -- which retrieves the same record
regardless of case. I did look at the MARC record associated with the
record, even though I didn't expect there to be anything that would affect
a case search since we don't code for that. There was nothing unexpected in
the record as viewed through the OPAC.

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Case sensitivity in title search

2016-09-26 Thread Elaine Hardy
Trisha,

Searches should not be case sensitive in Evergreen. Both searches in the
PINES database retrieve the same number of records. We are on 2.9.1 but
have not had searches be case sensitive with previous versions. Could this
be some other issue, such as a setting?
