Hi,
In the interest of ensuring this information is as widely
distributed as possible for future Evergreen conference host sites,
I am sharing the link to the "Evergreen Conference Manual".

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1755glj3RYyLuQKuxtnT-Ui15UzEISAed_EjCIa4M194

This document is one I wanted to produce during my time as
conference chair - I'm just sorry it took me the full 2 years to
complete it. And, of course, this document wouldn't have been
possible without assistance from the conference teams over the past
several years. I very much hope that it is helpful to next year's
conference and conferences beyond.

Cheers!
Grace

I believe the setting in question relates to holds that were never captured.
There is an email notification in EG called "Hold Expires from Shelf Soon" that
alerts patrons when their captured holds have been sitting on the shelf too

I did some digging, and that setting is indeed not currently used.
However, it was used back in the JSPac days, where it specified at what point
in time to apply a CSS style to the My Account holds list to highlight hold
requests that are about to expire. It wasn't carried over into TPAC.

I'll leave it to others to file a bug in LP to either remove the setting or to
reimplement it in TPAC.

As a side note, I tracked this down by using the following Git command to
identify commits that included the setting's code:

  git log -S "circ.hold_expire_alert_interval" --source

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] What does the "Holds Expire Alert Interval" library setting do?

2017-05-04 Thread Morgan, Michele
Jane,

My first thought on this org unit setting was that it defined an interval
for a client alert when a patron has a hold that is soon to expire. Maybe
similar to the *circ.patron_expires_soon_warning* ou setting, which sets an
interval to show a warning at checkout when a patron account is soon to
expire.

But I can't see that the *circ.hold_expire_alert_interval* ou setting is
actually used anywhere. Maybe someone with better eyes than mine can shed
some light?
