Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] [opnfv-tsc] [announce][election] Opening nominations for OPNFV Technical Steering Committee (TSC)

2018-09-07 Thread Ryota Mibu
David, all,

I’d like to nominate myself.

Name: Ryota Mibu
Organization: NEC
Statement:
I’ve been contributing OPNFV as a developer and led Doctor project (fault
management and maintenance) until it’s graduation from incubation status.
Even focusing on such limited technical area, there are lots of things have to
be done in various contexts, e.g. collaborative development in upstream,
integration, CI/testing and documentation.
I worked through all those processes with project team members by getting huge
support from community developers in OPNFV and outside of OPNFV.
In OPNFV, I joined the development of documentation tool chain in opnfvdocs and
maintenance of Jenkins job configuration in releng.
I’m also organizing the Tokyo user group and trying to get new developers into
the open source networking communities from Japan.
What I want to contribute, if I can be a TSC member, is to reflect developer’s
point of view in TSC discussion, so that we can attract more developers into
OPNFV community.

Best,
Ryota

Hi all,

I would like to nominate Mika Rautakumpu from Nokia as a candidate to the OPNFV
TSC.

Mika is an OPNFV old timer, working tirelessly in getting OPNFV scenarios to
run in labs. He has also organized getting hardware to OPNFV events, such as he
OCP hardware that was on stage as part of the community demo in the OPNFV
Summit in Beijing. In OPNFV, he has contributed to Dovetail requirements and
also ran the Dovetail tests in different configurations to help test it.

Mika has also enthusiastically promoted OPNFV in different fora. You should
check out his blog post "Adopting NFV just got easier! Introducing OPNFV
Verification Program" in
https://www.nokia.com/en_int/blog/adopting-nfv-just-got-easier-introducing-opnfv-verification-program

To TSC, Mika can bring his real-life experience with OPNFV platforms and
different VNFs.

Hi all,
I would like to nominate Rex (Mingjiang Li) from Huawei for the TSC of OPNFV.

He has been working in OPNFV since the very beginning and now is the PTL of
Yardstick.

He contributes a great deal on Yardstick and has done much work on dashboard,
gating and release. He works a lot to make Yardstick more compatible on
different Openstack release. He cooperates a lot with Bottlenecks, Storperf, HA
and also do great work to support Dovetail OVP.

He is also quite active in the community, he has been working on the reporting
pages, new CD process, kubernetes scenarios support. He never hesitates to help
others both in Yardstick and the community.

As a member of TSC, his technical views and experience of testing would be of
great help to the community.

Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] [opnfv-tsc] [announce][election] Opening nominations for OPNFV Technical Steering Committee (TSC)

2018-09-04 Thread Cooper, Trevor
Thanks Alec, I accept the nomination.

I have been involved with OPNFV since its inception, first as PTL for Pharos
and helping to establishing the Infra Working Group and the Test Working Group.
I was PTL of VSPERF through two releases and contributed to the OPNFV Verified
program. Currently I serve on TSC and LFN Compliance and Verification committee.

I believe that OPNFV needs to evolve to have wider applicability as an
integration and testing project that is consumable by other open infrastructure
projects, in particular to ensure OPNFV is relevant to current industry trends
in Edge and Cloud Native.

I would like to nominate Trevor Cooper (Intel) and Fatih Degirmenci (Ericsson)
to the TSC.

Both Trevor and Fatih have shown excellent interaction across projects and
expertise in testing and release management. I am confident they will provide
the best guidance to the TSC.

Thank You

Team,

We've reached the halfway point for the nomination period. Nominations will
close in 1 week, on Sept 7 at 5 p.m. (PT). So far, we have only 5 nominations.
Keep in mind that we need to elect 15 people to the TSC, so keep those
nominations coming!

Dear OPNFV community,

I would like to nominate myself as a TSC member of the OPNFV project.

· Name of the nominee: Frank Brockners

· The nominee's organization: Cisco

· A brief statement about the nominees qualifications and contributions
to the OPNFV community:
As a Distinguished Engineer in Cisco’s Chief Technology and Architecture
Office, I’m driving software and architecture development for software defined
devices – with a strong focus on open source. I hold a diploma degree in
Electrical Engineering (Aachen University) and a PhD/Dr degree in Information
Science (University of Cologne).
I’m part of the OPNFV TSC since OPNFV’s inception – and have worked with
several other projects that reside under the roof of Linux Foundation
networking, including, ONAP, OpenDaylight, FD.io, and PNDA. One of my focus
areas in open source has been to integrate code and communities, e.g. OPNFV
FastDataStacks which integrates OpenStack, OpenDaylight and FD.io, or PNDA with
ONAP DCAE. I’m also involved the OPNFV Lab-as-a-Service initiative.
Moving forward, I want to help OPNFV embracing cloud native NFV and build
additional bridges and stronger ties to other projects – within and outside the
LFN.

Before nominating someone, please consult the list and verify that the
individual has 20 or more contributions. You may find a schedule of election
activities
here.

PTL Input to the Active Contributor List
Note that the election procedures have a provision for adding and individual to
the active contributor list, who has less than 20 contributions, yet who has
make significant contributions to the OPNFV community. Per the election
procedure:

PTLs have an input on the "active contributor list" compiled over a 2-week
review period (with a view that this step primarily targets at making sure
qualified people that haven't been identified via the metric get added to the
list)
I am working with the TSC to define a specific process for this situation. In
the mean time, if you are a PTL, and you would like to add someone to the
active contributor list, please contact me directly with the name and a brief
statement about why they should be included on the list. Note that this action
simply adds them to the active contributor list, they still must be nominated,
separately. Also, note that the 2-week review period for the active
contributor list, cited in the election procedure, ends on Aug 31.

Nomination procedure

  1. You may nominate yourself, or someone else.

 * Remember that both you and the person nominated must be on the active
contributor
list with
20 or more contributions.
 * If you nominate someone else, I will confirm with that person that
they accept the nomination.

  1. Announce the nomination with a "reply all" to this email prior to 5 p.m.
(PT), Sept 7.
  2. Please include the following information:

 *   Name of the nominee
 *   The nominee's organization
 * A brief statement about the nominees qualifications and contributions
to the OPNFV community.

  1. Nominations close at 5 p.m. (PT) on Sept 7. See the entire election
schedule
here.
As nominees are accepted, I will post the nominee information on this
page.

Thank you for your participation in this important activity for the OPNFV
community. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] [opnfv-tsc] [announce][election] Opening nominations for OPNFV Technical Steering Committee (TSC)

2018-08-29 Thread Mark Beierl
I’ll break the ice by nominating Emma Foley to the TSC.

Emma has been involved in a number of OPNFV projects and has demonstrated both
leadership and willingness to help others. My interactions with her in both
Yardstick and Barometer have shown that she is strong technically and seeks to
ensure both that she understands the subject and that her responses are
understood. She has also promoted OPNFV well in areas such as driving the
Yardstick NSB demo at OpenStack Vancouver. Her skills, personality and passion
for OPNFV would be a great addition to the TSC.

Mark

Team,

I'm surprised that nominations have been open for 5 days and I've yet to see a
single nomination. Someone needs to break the ice and get this started.
Nominations close Sept 7. Thanks.

Today, we begin nominations for a new TSC, consisting of 15 members, in
