2021-10-10 Thread alpine14011970
I am having some trouble opening a saved .osf file from my Galaxy S10 Plus

Please, any suggestions?

Thank you!

Galaxy S10 Plus - maps interrupted by magnet on car mount

2020-03-25 Thread alpine14011970
I found turning off the magnetic sensor in Osmand maps to cure the issue
with the magnet interrupting the compass of Osmand maps. It seems to work
now with the, use magnetic sensor turned off in settings for Osmand maps.
The car mount for my phone uses a strong magnetic and I found this to
interrupt the phone's magnetic sensor, so turning it off seems to fix the
problem. Anyone have any ideas regarding this trouble? I am not sure if I
had it turned off in settings on my Galaxy S8 plus, I can not remember.

.srtm.obf versus .obf files

2019-08-27 Thread alpine14011970
Could someone please tell me what the difference between, .srtm.obf versus
.obf files are and can I delete either type of file, as they consume a
large amount of space on my device. There is an STRM folder, do we need
this as the .OBF files are located in the NET.OSMAND.PLUS folder. Thank
you.

two different devices, two different times to plan a route to destination

2019-08-15 Thread alpine14011970
I have this problem where I have two Samsung devices, one slower and older
than the other device, but with planning a route to a destination, the
slower processor device easily is faster at finding the route to the same
destination than the faster and newer device. I use the same destination
on both devices to compare speeds.

Any ideas, please?

osmand destination planning

2019-07-12 Thread alpine14011970
Picking the same destination both on my Samsung Galaxy S8+ and racing it
against my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, the Tab 2 wins by far, the Galaxy S8+ just
sits there wondering which route to take. Galaxy S8+ has a faster processor,
yet is beaten by the Tab2, a much older unit! Any help would be much
appreciated.

Navigation

2019-04-09 Thread alpine14011970
What is the use of a navigation where I want the route to be best chosen for
me, yet now we have to choose waypoints so that the routes can calculate my
route. The route should be chosen by Osmand maps better than I can and quicker
than I can do. It is time consuming and difficult to know which direction to
choose and calculate routes without never have heen there before. I raced both
my Samsung Galaxy tab S2 and my Galaxy S8 plus, calculating the exact same
route, the tab S2 won, while my Galaxy S8plus just hung there.

Do these apply to all mobilities eg. browse, car, bicycle and pedestrian?

Re: Automatic gpx track logging does not work

2017-09-27 Thread alpine14011970
Thanks for the suggestion. I might try un-installing Osmand, then
re-installing. I wonder about all of the favourites and recorded track and
other gpx tracks and all of the my downloaded vector maps, can I save them
to a pc, then later move them back over? I guess that should not be a
problem.

Re: strange and annoying navigation behavior

I agree, too many keep left, keep right navigation instructions, I have

I'd like to investigate further with some help, please.
