Effect Plug-ins in Goldwave

2009-05-10 Thread Samuel Wilkins
Hello, I am trying to get my list of plug-ins in Goldwave 5.5. When I go into
options and select plug-in, the effect plug-ins option is disabled. I checked
in the goldwave setup and the disable effect plug-ins was not disabled. What is
happening?

Re: Effect Plug-ins in Goldwave

2009-05-10 Thread Mario Percinic
hello Samuel. That's exactly what happened to me. You need to download
separate directx plug-in from the site and install it. Than after you lounch
goldwave you will see your plug-ins which you can configure from the options
menu. If you are using vst than my advice is to check out the faq section on
the goldwave site which explains how to use vst with goldwave.

If your pluggins are directX, you should first download and install the
add-on for compatibility.

MP4b files - conversion and creation

2009-05-10 Thread Ray
Prompted to ask this again here by Ann Tates question about converting .mp4b
files to mp3.

I'm interested in the answers to that question, but wonder if anyone knows
what's around to actually create ..mp4b files. Maybe programmes or
converters exist to handle .mp4b but I've not seen this in, for example,
NCH's switch coverter, which I have on this computer.

Wonder if maybe ITunes can do .mp4b creation. Maybe have to install it and
find out, but would be interested in any knowledge people have on .mp4b
creation.

Thanks,

Ray

Re: new sound card for my laptop

2009-05-10 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi. Wow this sounds like it's exactly the one I'm looking for! My
only question is, is the software that comes with it necessary? I'm
not going to be doing a whole bunch with surround sound, just maybe
occasionally recording from an external source like a casette deck or
cd player or something, so I don't need anything that's going to
require me to hook up tons of speakers. Space is limited here. It
does sound quite nice though!

Hi there! Finally getting around to answering this post, because I wasn't

Recorder, much to my delight. I havenot messed with the sound card's
control pannel because I suspect it's an inaccessible mess (lol) but I may
go in there and check it out. The card runs about $70 u.s. and you can get
it at

I love it because I can use What you Hear and mix sounds from various
sources.

| Hi folks
| This should be pretty simple but I want to make sure I'm doing the
| right thing. I have an Asus laptop and it currently has one of the
| usual Sigmatel cards, ok for listening to stuff, but not for
| recording from external sources. I'm using XP service pack 3, by the way.
|
| Since I have a laptop and space is farely limited, I'm looking for a
| sound card, hopefully something from
| either Creative or Turtle Beach that'll let me use something along
| the lines of the what u hear option to record from an external
| source, or if I want to record sspeech along with my voice if I'm
| recording a demo of a peace of software or a game. I'd like for it
| to be USB, if possible.
|
| There are so many cards out there, and I just want to pick the one
| that is easiest to install and get running and doesn't require a lot
| of guess work. I'm in a place where there aren't a lot of people who
| have working eyes so I'm trying to keep this farely simple.
| I don't mind installing software from a CD, but if there are going
| to be any hoops I'm going to need to jump through to get it
| installed, I'd appreciate any tips. Hope someone can help a bit?

Re: PROBLEMS WITH THE NEWEST GOLDWAVE 5.5

2009-05-10 Thread Larry
Hi Doc. If I unddrstand you correctly your problem happens when you are
deciding how to save the split files. You have the choice of cue neame,
track name, or a combination of the 2. Is that the problem that you are
encountering?

If it is, then GoldWave's default is still to choose the cue name. If you
want to save by track name, you need to arrow down one and continue to tab
through the remaining options to the ok button. If I'm misunderstanding,
please feel free to clarify and I can probably help you. I think you and I

Turtle Beach Audio Advantage SRM

2009-05-10 Thread Chris Skarstad

Hi folks

I've taken the plunge and will be getting a Turtle Beach Audio
Advantage SRM for my laptop, after Kathy's suggestion.
Can anyone give me any tips for the instalation, it sounds like it's
pretty standard but if there are any pitfalls or sticking points, I
want to know so I can be prepared ahead of time. It definitely
sounds like the card I'm looking for, though.

Thanks!
