RE: Continuing saga of Creative Labs.

2009-12-03 Thread Dave McElroy WA6BEF
Again, you're saying that my/our money isn't as good as the next persons.
If you'd bother to Google, you'd see that I am not the only person having
problems with Creative. As of now they appear to be a derelict company. So
far we've had one person claiming that her product works but she wwill not
offer us the steps she takes to make it so, which in my estimation means
that she may very possibly be fabricating. Then we have somebody else
saying essentially that "there must be a solution."

I have a right to warn people against buying what for us as blind people may
in fact be garbage. If you don't like it, throw me off the list.

I've spen three solid days trying to find a workaround.

High all list members,
In the world of electronics, there is no such word as the word can't.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
I had an old computer that had an old M AUDIO sound card in it.
I couldn't get at the tone controls for the world using Jaws 6.1.
But I found a work around, I got someone in Daytona Beach Florida, to write
scrip's for me to make the sound card do what I wanted it to do.
The same principle very well, could be applied to the Creative Lab sound
cards.
Yes I agree the manufacturers should listen to the people that use their
products, but that doesn't always happen.
This is why we have to be faithful for the people that are smart enough to
find work arounds for us to use.
Try looking for a suitable solution before you give upon the problem.
My best regards to you all!

Hi.
looking for advice.
my boom box has bit the dust.
thought it was my cds tha were dodgy.
well had this baby for almost 25 years, and handed down by my baby
brother.

now, the cd just started skipping and jumping.
but i knew the cd was good.
so i put one of my dads cds in, and it stutered, and would not play.
so the cd player has died.
not worth getting it replaced.
so, what ghetto blasters or boom boxes, have people purchased.
and some thing for a blind person easy to use.
does it just have a radio and a cd player.
so i can then listen to my cds.
with new models.
which models or brands, the good, bad and down right ugly.
want to get it right.
and will they play 80s minute blank cds.
stores do not sell 74 minute blank cds.
and from leading edge a spindle of 55 blank cdr cds tdk for $15.
if i go the rewriteable.
packs of 10 fo either $18 or $19 a pack.
which is the better way to go.
maybe just cdr.
as got over 800 tracks on my hard disk.
let me know if any one can help.

I too want something like this; however, I want one with
good specs for tuner sensitivity, both AM and FM. I do not
care about HD radio as there is none in this relatively

it's not my flash player, but I don't know what else to try. Does anyone

Okay, the RXED50 Panasonic model is fully accessible, the clock takes a
bit of getting used to but it can be set. Go to
http://www.blindcooltech.com for the review. Go to the Panasonic web
site for further information on the model.

This "Power Blaster" is probably the best sounding boombox that you'll
most likely hear, has CD, 2 feather-touch controlled cassette deks - the
recording deck has AC bias and erase and records extremely well for a
portable unit - am/FM radio with 24 presets, full remote control,
sleep/play/record timers, clock, EQ etc.

I believe that - for people living in the united States - Panasonic
wasn't selling the model directly into the country though this may have
changed, other list members reported that they ordered the model in from
Canada.

Hi.
looking for advice.
my boom box has bit the dust.
thought it was my cds tha were dodgy.
well had this baby for almost 25 years, and handed down by my baby
brother.

now, the cd just started skipping and jumping.
but i knew the cd was good.
so i put one of my dads cds in, and it stutered, and would not play.
so the cd player has died.
not worth getting it replaced.
so, what ghetto blasters or boom boxes, have people purchased.
and some thing for a blind person easy to use.

Re: cd boom box recommendations

2009-12-03 Thread RicksPlace
When I looked for a boom box I had to go to the store and actually feel them
to see which had buttons and knobs I could work with. I have purchassed 3 of
them and taken all of them back because they did not work. One would not
play CDs correctly, another would noyt record and the third had some other
problem. I currently use an older Soney that has a CD player and 2 tape
players for recording and dubbing. Sorry I can't be more help but I could
not tell from reading articles online if some of them were more accessible
than others.
